  1. ...no I watch much more NCAA hockey....I find find it hard that people on this site are bashing one of the best develmental leagues in the world. More top NHL players come from the CHL than any other league. That league has the best kids from all over the world. I see some people comparing the USHL and the CHL...they are not even close. Now could BC beat a top CHL team..sure. Could a top CHL team BC....sure. I'm guessing BC would have a slightly older group of kids. But it would be a good game to watch. Again, I like watching NCAA hockey (or Sioux hockey that is) much more than CHL hockey....but I'm not ignorant to the fact that the CHL is the top developmental league in the world. Any hockey player knows that, although some simply want an education too...which I respect.
  2. Yeah I'm not blaming UND....I'm blaming the tribes. Again, on a right and wrong level...the natives now want to appeal the NCAA to keep the name....how can that be offensive? End of story....stamp the closed report. Let everything go on as it always has.
  3. This just makes no sense to me at at all... http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/2012/06/spirit-lake-nickname-supporters-to.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FZTZqA+%28Goon%27s+World%29
  4. ...nice guy
  5. I like that one.
  6. Those were two pretty solid teams...guess I am confused??? The hockey was great...especially the host team that played so well. I just don't follow most of the teams for most of the year so I became slightly disinterested. But if you are a fan of hockey you got to watch some pretty great prospects.
  7. Check out the below link; I think it is a great article. While both leagues are great...I think young US players these days simply want to go where the best kids (in their age group are going). Many of the NTDP see kids they are playing against going to Canada to complete, so they go too. I am all for that, however, something has to be done with these players decommitting. The article is super old....but good and educating. http://aol.sportingn...y-ohl-whl-qmjhl
  8. I watched a little bit...not much more than that though. I simply wanted to check out a couple players who were high up on the player rankings. Tough to get into the games when you could care less who wins.
  9. I sort of like "NoDaks"...kind of like the Canucks. I wonder what a logo could be....since we are losing the best one in sports. Could it be Fighting NoDaks....or would all the current ND residents vote against that as well?
  10. Haha...I said the exact same thing last night. How did ZPar not score on the wide open net late in the third?
  11. ditto
  12. I sure hope these online polls don't reflect an accurate sample of the population....everyone I talk to in GF (including their mothers) are voting No for Measure 4. Too bad the NCAA is scaring everyone away with their threats.
  13. Good I thought it was just me....if you wait a while then it will work.
  14. So does Hak announce who they are hiring tomorrow??? Man I hope it is Berry (which I assume is roughly 99.99% right now); I really do not want to see any surprises.
  15. Pretty sure everyone can make up their own minds. Because you don't view his you don't need to push your views on anyone else.
  16. Fighting Sioux sounds about right to me.
  17. I have the Devils in 6, but either way the Sioux are represented very well in this year's Cup....great to see!
  18. Actually many people go to college to get jobs....and UND has a great placement rate and very good professional colleges and a great business college. Believe me the school side of things would be fine. NO way we would ever lose hockey anyways, which brings in almost all the revenue.
  19. I figured you were going to respond quick.
  20. Agreed. I was just wondering what he did that was bad enough to get the boot. Either way, most of us have caused some trouble and subsequently grew up.
  21. Well if you vote to get rid of the name....you are simply doing so to help the sports department.....not the university. The nickname and logo simply hurt the sports department...not the university. Believe me, the university will still be a great school no matter the the logo or nickname is and no matter which sports we have (although hockey would be tough to lose as it brings in so much revenue to the school, but that is beside my point).
  22. Well, you made my point in your response. If any 16 year old gets kicked off a team...I'm guessing he caused a little trouble. At least that's what I'll believe until I hear otherwise. You don't simply get kicked off a prestigous team for no reason now.
  23. Yeah, definitely a good thing, depending on the severity of the injury. All in all, I would say he gets to see what he is really worth.
  24. Good point. Yes, the NHL pretty much funds the CHL. Long story short (although many college die hards who only watch college hockey may disagree) a large portion of the top prospects play in the CHL. Due to the recent US success in international tournaments and due to the NTDP players focusing strictly on hockey year round, at a very high level, we are now producing players that are becoming good at a young age, and thus, are being recruited by the CHL. This really isn't all that new as many US kids have gone to the CHL in the past. We are simply noticing it more now because of college hockey's rise in popularity over the past 12 years or so and due to the US getting much better at hockey over that same period. College hockey started retaining great US players where in the past they would bounce up north. But regarding Biggs, if you don't kill it in college hockey being that highly touted, I doubt he will ever be that great in the NHL (if he gets there). He reminds be of that Canadian Gopher player that played when Pots was on the team....forgot his name.
