  1. I’m not bashing the current team, I still like them if they can get more consistent. all I’m trying to do is point out that the recruiting angle has been changing a bit (not sure why just point out a fact). The point I was trying to make is a lot of those grunts were drafted in rounds 2-5. I think we need those types of guys. I get the caggiulas and stechers of the world are nice...when you can land them. But we need more of those guys that get drafted.
  2. A decent chunk of those guys were drafted in the top 3 rounds...grunts? On our current roster who do we have in the top three rounds? I mean, we only have like 6 drafted players in our entire team (a number that’s been free falling in the past couple years). Even guys like ladue and t poolman were drafted because they dominated juniors. Also, in that listing how many of the players were undrafted?
  3. Haha love that answer.
  4. Let’s see that magic ball to find guys like caggiula. Whoever could do that would have a nice scouting contract waiting for them in show.
  5. I don’t know about that, goalies rarely go in the first and if got a second round goalie who was a top 5 goalie drafted, I would consider them a blue chip prospect. As for skaters, yes a blue chipper is a first rounder. One could consider a blue chip recruit one that is protected to go in the first round. Tychonik is close right now. None of the others are close really.
  6. Oh ok. Split for the boys...shock the world!
  7. Sweep for the boys, shock the world. Terry is out correct?
  8. I agree. At this point berry needs to start keeping these high enders. Everyone likes to mention the cagullias, ladue and Poolmans of the world however those types are pretty tough to find. Those are more luck (and two of them grew up in our back yard). Watching Duluth this past weekend, they simply had more skill than we did. We’ve missed on some kids recently.
  9. I know he is no longer committed but does anyone know where Keegan karki is gong next year? He’s ranked very very high in the nhl draft ranking that came out this morning.
  10. How could you possibly say that? No one knows what could have happened. That was his team. I am worried about the recruiting classes coming in next year and the year after. Further out we have some nice prospects though. We need to start winning some of these recruiting battles for high end kids.
  11. I’m not here bash berry whatsoever but Hakstol was a very solid coach who pulled in blue chippers consistently. Berry has locked down some nice recruits but we’ve lost a ton too. Just my two cents. We aren’t getting the shear number of high Enders like we used to. That’s a fact. I know we had Boeser come in and jost. But we used to have a few guys like that each year (maybe not to the level of Boeser, but think Nelson, forbort, etc). The number of draft picks that come in has plummeted. What do we have 5-6 this year? We used to have like 12-14.
  12. Not a great weekend, I’ll leave it at that. Duluth was way better tonight. Was never close.
  13. Duluth lost everyone by j Anderson last year.
  14. I agree. I just don’t see how he could leave after this year. His numbers are terrible.
  15. I got it. But what about the sophomores or the juniors or seniors
  16. Respectfully, no it wasn’t. Bowen still looks very rusty. we had some nice lines at the beginning of the year. Definitely need to go back to those.
  17. I’m starting to think you’re right. Lots of these guys haven’t played to their potential (other than wolanin and mismash....and I only bring up mismash because he’s a true frosh). What’s scarier is that other than hain and tychonyk most of our recruits haven’t done much. Weatherby has been good but he’s an over ager playing in a high scoring league. Boys need to pick it up.
  18. The freshmen??? Boy.
  19. Can’t get terribly mad at a loss to Duluth with all their nice players, but I’m definitely starting to sense a theme with this team. Consistency is null, their starts are mostly awful, their energy level is poor more than it isn’t, and they’re starting to look worse and worse each week. At the start of the year I honestly thought they had something. Don’t really have that feeling anymore. Hopefully it’s a mid season lull or something. Get into the tourney and hopefully catch a hot streak. Not to get too negative however I don’t see how next year gets any better without some serious development out of our freshmen and sophomores.
  20. This thread is great.
  21. Mismash hasn’t done anything since he didn’t make the WJC. However he was also curiously taken off the scoring lines.
  22. Ties don’t actually hurt that bad. And Bemidji really isn’t terrible. Not a great game but could have been worse. We could have lost. This team just doesn’t seem to have that consistent offensive punch. We really need a guy like gersich to burry some pucks.
  23. Don’t think I saw the mismash line in the third or OT. Odd because I felt the simo line got worked tonight.
  24. Most likely. Mismash in a non scoring role too. Their pairwise is solid so he’s probably trying to get the boys going.
