  1. Yup. That's why juniors are important. The difference between HS and college is night and day. Only the elite could do it.
  2. Brock played his senior year at Warroad. He came in as a true freshman. I honesltly cannot think of another player that went HS right into UND (since him).
  3. Simpson was a 4th rounder that played juniors prior to coming to UND. You may have missed the topic?
  4. Haha you pull the one kid who went back....you should have brought up Nelson as well. Nice. TJ averaged a pt per game his frosh year I believe. I would like to know how many NHL first round draft prospects that played prep end up having those kind of college numbers the very next year. I honestly can only think of Oshie....like over 10 years ago. I'm guessing Middlestadt will do it next year. But these boys are the outliers, not the norm. Who was the last Sioux player that went from prep right to college?
  5. Interesting. Can't be too bad though, sounds like he'll be in for GB their next game.
  6. I honestly didn't see much difference between Hain and middlestadt...and hains a year younger. You're right the competition between MN HS and the ushl (or a u18) schedule is night and day. I would assume he would take his talents to a tougher league. Him and McLaughlin playing high school hockey next year wouldn't even be fair.
  7. Kids elite. I would assume he'll have the option of playing for the u18 team. He was also the first overall pick in last year's ushl draft. After next year (given he has a strong year), I would assume he'd be a first round draft pick and play for the good guys.
  8. True...but our D (both forwards and dman) was terrible last night. When teams start playing wagon wheel hockey that's when good, solid, positionally sound teams make them pay. Cams numbers looked bad on paper but he truly bailed his team out. Boys need to clean it up before next weekend.
  9. Haha....I was just thinking "simos playing too much"
  10. This is frustrating, come out hot and they're down 2-0
  11. Peski is going to be nice in a few years.
  12. Great game by the boys last night. They're better than scsu, finish them off tonight.
  13. The second penalty was probably the right call. But they never should even have been in that situation. Just because someone gets hurt doesn't mean there was a penalty. Boy the game is changing fast.
  14. This is when refs change the flow of the game. Now scsu gets back in it. Terrible call.
  15. This is going to be a terrible call....that's clean
  16. I actually like that line. I think they'll have a decent night.
  17. Sandelin looks way better than I've heard about him....however not a fan of his celebrations.
  18. I'll take the Sioux boys to close down the series Saturday evening. Friday - 4-3 (SCSU gets one late) Saturday - 5-1 (huge first period)
  19. Agree 100%....however HS hockey is not going to do much for Hain anymore. The kid dominated....he would be challenged 10X more playing for the U18 team next year. But like other posters have mentioned, he probably won't leave. Hey, even our prized Boeser left after his junior year in high school. Should he have stayed for his senior year? No, high school hockey would do nothing for him; the grind of the USHL season would develop him much better. This isn't a knock on MN HS hockey....because it's a great league. I'm talking specifically on this uber elite kids (MIddlestadt, Hain, McLauglin, etc).
