Compared to top big 10 schools ya we’ve dipped a bit, especially in the F area. But there is a benefit to missing on young blue chips…you have room on the back end so I have no doubt we’ll stay higher end moving forward I’m just kind of tracking where these high enders are going. And high enders can change from year to year…but they all seem to be going to Michigan I thought we may have had a chance at whitelaw but he went badgers. As someone else pointed out, we’ve been whiffing on a ton of MN high enders recently…and mn hockey has been really pumping them out recently

I hope you weren’t limping me in that bucket. I was more pointing out the changes in recruiting landscape
-
I’m not going through all of them…but Clark, Chesley are two recent ones. I also look at the sheer number of of high end kids heading the big 10 route. I’m not super surprised, but I did think UND would be in most the discussions for them. We got a few kids…but not the kids considered blue chips right this minute. Not saying I don’t like the three kids we got this year…I do. I know i read that Perron has a chance to be a first round. That’s great. Just saying, the recruiting landscape has changed a bit. and again, that doesn’t necessarily translate to success come puck drop…but more horses in the stable sure helps.

All three of the kids we got are arguably better than Clark…but…we’ve lost a ton of battles recently.
-
Fairly certain we were after him. We’ve lost a ton of recruiting battles over the last two years.

Definitely don't agree with the "vaccine passport" theory....completely ridiculous and everyone should make their own choice. It is their right. But on the flip side....it's absolutely ridiculous folks haven't gotten the vaccine (my own personal opinion). So I'll show my vaccine card but don't agree with the decision to force this.

Why would they do that?

I don't believe Panzer cut the squad this year. Which is fine. Still relatively young. Ausmus did.

All I’m saying is that with the NTDP being located in MI it’s definitely a recruiting advantage for UM (obviously). With how good that NTDP is getting, it’s getting to be a bit unfair if they’re getting every kid. I really don’t even compare them with the BU team a couple years ago. UM is getting multiple lotto picks.

Mcgoarty flipped to mich wtf
-
If mcgoarty ends up flipping to mich I may call shenanigans

I said it a year or two ago…just wait the Big10 conference will end up tops. YHH is reporting J Clark and O Moore will go big10 route too.

Ahh, I get it. Moving around the junior landscape is much easier than ncaa hockey. I’m guessing Penticton will be able to replace him easily. -

Should be an interesting year. If they work hard they should still be an above avg squad. Won’t be like years past, I’m assuming scoring goals may be an issue. Time to hammer that recruiting trail. -

Hopefully it's not brining in a recruit who isn't necessarily ready. -

It has nothing to do with the kneeling…smh Pinto and Weatherby are two completely different types of players/prospects -

TBH I feel the same way in these situations. Had they known he was leaving (which is a giant head scratcher) they could have brought in another grad transfer to fill the hole. -

We’ll see. NHL is a lot tougher than college puck. You leave early when you’re dominating…especially overagers -

This is where I lean. He's not that old....he will not be a high end NHL player this year. He had the chance to take on a very large role with this team and run with it. If this was his "dream employer", he could have easily signed in April and burned the first year of his contract. To be clear, I understand college hockey is simply is stepping stone for almost all players...but in this players case, there was more development to be had. You sign when you start dominating. Sure, he had a great end to last year but stretch it out for a bit to the team that gave you the chance. This one doesn't sit well with me...especially for someone who was voted in as an assistant captain.
