Agreed, this team will be really good. Not a ton of raw skill at the upperclassmen level, but hopefully there’s enough grit to score. Hopefully they play a possession game, last year’s dump and chase mentality was tough to watch at times.

Well clearly he's giving McLaughlin and Blake a long look up top. Blake is basically top 6 or potentially not in the lineup. Offensive wizard but definitely a liability on the D side of things. I havent really watched McLaughlin all that much. I think Kunz needs a long look to build some confidence. He's an offensive guy, needs a shot. Interesting OM is over both MC and JS...maybe they run more of a top 9?

To be clear I’m not saying Und hasn’t been recruiting well. At the end of the day, we’re up there for sure. I just miss those mid 2000s days where we’d reload every year with at least a couple blue chips. That trend has moved more to the Big10 (on average). Definitely doesn’t guarantee a natty, but better kids help. I’m sure Berry is just taking his time. Nice thing about hockey is there are always late bloomers, and we typically clean up in that department. also, im fairly certain we’ll start the year as a top 3-5 team in the country so we’re going to be good this year. MN is going to be tough, DU too, but this is a year I have natty hopes.

Well mcmorrow averaged over a pt/gm as a sophomore playing in arguably the toughest section in AA hockey. He’s also got picked up by the NTDP. Zellers isn’t playing NTDP and played U15 on a stacked team and was like 4th-5th in pts.. Again he may be trending right thigh, I believe he had a nice 5 nations tourney.

But is zellers that big of a recruit? I mean I don’t mean to sound negative as he may very well turn out to be phenomenal, but I don’t seem to see it from a numbers standpoint. The one positive is that he seems to be trending up very recently.

Agreed….had we got this recruiting class we’d be over the moon (and we have and we were). In all seriousness, the Big10 is running now on blue chips and I kind of knew they would several years back. It was only a matter of time. But…you can beat that with late bloomers and over agers. Which is most likely Berry’s strategy at the moment. Every other NCHC team has to do the same thing.

That one game…sh!t we’ve lost in similar fashion what 3 times straight now? Come on, we’re all Sioux fans but saying something remotely positive about another program shouldn’t be a crime.

Eiserman to the goofs This trend is tough to watch…motzco cleaning up at the moment. They have the top 4-5 kids in the 06 class.

The team was 10-0 as far as goals for/goals against at even strength with faber on the ice. Only goal against was the empty netter in the quarters. in comparison, kleven’s was the lowest at even strength on the US. Not trying to bash kleven, more to point out that you have to bring some stats to make comment you did. agree with Knies though, fairly underwhelming

Denver’s on a heater…good players coming in their this year. Carle has a reputation for letting skilled players play free. That can be important from a development standpoint. They’ve also been very good the past 5-7 years.
