Don’t be so sure. His name was brought up a few times in conversations. If presented the right deal he would take it. Money talks, and the NHL would pay him far more than any college gig.

I wouldn’t be surprised though if Sandy gets his shot in the NHL. He surely would leave UMD for a chance at an NHL coaching gig. I say his days are numbered at UMD. Just like Hak, someone will offer him a contract he can’t refuse.

About 7 or 8 years ago they were about ready to run Sandy out of town. I am curious though, what sort of deal Sandy made with the devil. It’s going to be time to pay up soon. I kid, I kid.

Duluth has always been a very clutchy/grabby team who has gotten away with that type of play for a long time.

Yes, he actually had a good little motor and was winning races to pucks far into OT.

We had lots of chances to end it, it’s just hard that they weren’t able to. UND had far more sustained pressure and chances in the overtime. Just couldn’t bury it, which I am sure was frustrating for everyone.

It’s no use trying to reason with them. They are hell bent on blaming someone or something. It sucks, I get it but programs are going to experience ups and downs, even great ones.

I am bummed just like everyone but some of this is really over the top. Players played hard and coaches coached, talk is cheap.

UMD has been on a nice run but those runs will eventually end. Last time I checked they have won 3 NC, they still have a ways to go. A long way to go, if you know what I mean. Just because they have had recent success doesn’t mean anything. They should enjoy the ride as I mentioned it doesn’t last forever.
