It is much better hockey now than it was when I started officiating games during the late 90s. I don't know what you would have called it back then, it was quite the gong at times. Nothing unordinary about 12 + minors per team in a game.
First WDA tournament in 95 was loser out in first round - if you won you qualified for state with last 2 games for seeding purposes - changed it to double elimination following year - assume EDC was the same
Eventually at Minot State during the early years along with several Lumberjacks which some of playing at UMC when they went D3 - Scotty Oliver was the coach at UMC - what a character 🤣 he and his successor Gary Warren - certainly cut from the same cloth
Demons - family moved after Fr. year
Phillion was a Jr. - don’t know what he had for pts. they season but stayed his Sr. Year before going to USHL - Peluso went after his Jr. year - they are the same age
People probably forget about a guy like Mike Shauer from Demons too - went on to D3 and was really good - lot of good players in the west for several years prior and after that played decent hockey after HS
