UND ended the home part of the conference schedule the same way it started the home part of the conference schedule, with a loss to their travel partner UNC. UND turns to the road for the final two regular season conference games ever in the Big Sky. First up, a trip to Sacramento State to take on the Hornets. Player to watch: Justin Strings. The Senior forward is plenty capable of having a big night on both ends of the floor, averaging a solid 17 points and 7 rebounds a night. UND is going to have to work hard in the post to keep him from going off. Conference game of the night: Weber @ Montana: The Griz can wrap up the conference title outright and #1 with a win. Weber's only shot at the 1 seed is to sweep and hope the Griz get swept. Should be a great clash between these two longtime rivals. Who has clinched what Montana, Idaho, and Weber all have clinched first round byes EWU can join them with a win and UNC loss The Call: UND takes it to the Hornets and comes away with a road win. Look for Geno to have a big night UND 81-71

On an unrelated topic: what is the status of men’s golf? Any chance they make the goal before the end of this season?

Anything reinstated needs to be academic, that has to be #1 with a bullet. Reinstating anything from the athletic side without balance from the academic side will not go over very well.

Nuke the thread. All in favor?

When did I miss that UND was not in Title IX compliance for not having WIH? Wasn't there a federal body that investigated the matter for 6 months? Or was I dreaming that?

Why stop there? Lets go back to everybody getting their programs back.

There has been a lot of focus on athletics, but lets remember our friends in academia. (To preface this: I recall the words of my advisor who was at UND for nearly 40 years until his passing last fall: No department wants to make cuts to their budget because they feel they are the most important department on campus). If I was a department head/dean on campus, whose budgets have been slashed, professors lost, programs eliminated, etc. Imagine my reaction to find out that the athletic department would bring back a sport that lost a large amount of money. Hey, why should athletics get to bring back something while I get nothing? I am not going to put up with that, if they can get something, I can get something.* Now imagine that reaction by several of these important people, especially ones that make things not so rosy on campus. Remember the outcry from the faculty when Schafer cut Baseball and they were mad because they weren't included? It would be way worse. You cannot reopen the door. Its why no matter how much is begged, these programs aren't coming back. *I wouldn't blame any faculty member for being that way tbh and honestly I would expect a lot to react that same way.
