  1. The kickers did look quite impressive, I did notice another kicker that looked very good kicking field goals early in practice too so apparently we have depth at kicker. I think Hansen is going to take the job, his reads are lightyears ahead of the other qbs and his touch is ridiculous on some throws. I also saw Hendrickson make some impressive throws. He has an absolute cannon for an arm but I don't see much touch and change of speeds in his throwing which is a problem... Speaking of linebackers, I've seen the new guy Gord make some powerful hits. Also Dom Bennet looks a good 20 pounds heavier which is great because I think he has the best physical skills and movement of any linebacker we've ever had at UND.
  2. Was able to attend todays practice. Things are looking good. The kickers were hitting bombs today in the specialist session. The one on one's (wr and db) were intense with Jameer Jackson man-handling dbs. He looks much more fluid than before, and did I mention he looks like he's pushing 240. Big runs by Jake Miller and Jer Garmin in a team session. And some huge hits in a very intense live session to end practice.
  3. Our best CB was a freshman last year, they look better in spring so far
  4. Butler's high school transcript was all messed up
  5. CBs Jr. Mackey physically gifted, quick, short (5'8"), good plays mixed in with some blown coverage, good run support Jr. Hall quick not too fast, long, good instincts and hands, smooth, not physical enough So. D Brown very tough, cat like quickness, decent hands, good hitter, smart, a little small but plays bigger, doesn't blow coverage Fr. Dwayne Brown small, great hips and quickness, consistant coverage, nearly got shirt pulled, short but plays bigger, very aggresive and tough Fr. Chris Brown smooth, quicker than fast, decent hands Fr. Rumeal Harris good coverage, needs to get bigger and faster, good hips S Sr. Mersereaux freak athlete (40.5" vert, 4.42 40, 340+ clean) strong, fast, quick, needs to learn how to hit and tackle, needs to improve ball awarness in coverage, could be great if it clicks next season So Carr hard hitter, fast, good instincts, a little short, tough, nasty, decent hips Fr Fifita explosive hitter, super physical, good coverage, great run support, good enough hands and hips, very down hill player Fr. Butler (when he clears the NCAA) huge (6'2" 220+) fast, quick, great hands, hits like Saun Taylor(RIP) huge potential, could start if he is eligible Fr Idowu big (6'2") pretty fast, heavy feet.... kind of stiff hips, very smart, good potential So William James (from Sweden) very strong, hard hitting run stopper, bad hand, decent coverage, good potential The secondary will be better than last year, how much remains to be seen. That all has to do with how good the offense is and if they can do a better job of scoring and keeping the defense off the field. Butler is the major question he could make or break the safety position for years to come.
  6. i actually really like him. He's a great guy and a good coach. I was being sacastic about how 'informed' gfhockey sounded. And the Defense is smashmouth like the good old days with Digger so he is doing something right.
  7. He must have confused his coaching at UND with his time at Red River
  8. coach Boyd was with the Steelers at one point. It's not D1 obviously but it could be sufficient.
  9. and then factor in an actual team in front of him and you have better stats than he had at that cesspool they called UAH.
  10. From the little we saw of Gramaldi I think he has the chanse to be the most elite scorer and creative offensive talent we've had since Parise. He may not be on the first line but he may lead the team in goals. Even on a bad knee you could see that 'it' to his game, I can't wait to see him play at 100%.
  11. Parise to the Blackhawks. Make it happen. Toews Kane and Parise. Boom. Maybe throw in Bochenski for good measure.
  12. The big day is here, time for the freshman to make some noise and fight for spots. I can't wait to see whats left after the dust settles on defense in the position battles.
  13. In goal we'll be as rock solid as I've ever seen with Dell Gothberg and Saunders coming in. Dell, Saunders, Gothberg Add Koules and Chyzyk to the forwards and we should have three solid lines and one mean checking line with Pattyn. If everyone stays the first line would probably stay as is. Knight, Nelson, Kristo, Grimaldi, Rowney, Koules, Parks, McMillan, ODonnel, Pattyn, Rodwell, Chyzyk, Dickin, Senkbiel, and Gaarder On D we only lose Blood for sure and add Schmaltz and possibly Jones if we're lucky. That could create a special group with more skill than we've had in my memory at D. I hope Panzerella can develope his overall game like Blood did and be a force with Mac to compliment the skilled D men. Forbort, MacMillan, Jones (if he comes), Schmaltz, Panzerella, Simpson, Gleason, Mattson This team could go from not a full line up to a bunch of healthy scratches.
  14. The 2011-12 season is over and had more ups and downs than even the usual season for UND. Next year we could be looking at a pretty good team on paper if nobody jumps ship. Good recruits comming in and Grimaldi and O'Donnel playing basically their first season and a solid returning lineup could make for a good year.
  15. Hopefully today was the extent of Dell being shaky. He looked very uncompfortable for the first two periods at least.
  16. anyone know if it's even possible for fsn to buy this game or not since it's on ESPNU?
  17. The good thing about this years team is that the reffs cant give Hextal a penalty for violating his 4 foot restraining order like they loved to. If we stay out of the box we can win, if we give those piss heads too many powerplays we're probably screwed.
  18. They dont have anyone on their team that leads like they used to in Ballard and Potulny and others when they would actually win playoffs titles.
  19. They are a little baggy. The only company that has figured out fit is Adidas which look almost like they've been painted on.
  20. I think when Murray said his team would be tough to play against I think he forgot to mention horrible to watch. Sioux played ok. Maybe it's a good thing that they didn't start off too hot and found a happy medium between not showing up and steam rolling.
  21. By everything do you mean the lead based paint, asbestos, and Jimmy Hoffa?
  22. It is the picture. It looks like they're in a dark basement in that picture. I like the look of them. Not perfect but how could we expect that with a short amount of time. They will look just fine tomorrow. I'm curious though to see the black ones and if they are any different from the green and whites like those gorgeous nike ones we had before the switch to reebok.
  23. It'll be done before Mollberg is gone.
  24. Adler is a classic h back. He can plug in and be effective at multiple positions
  25. That stuff is easily relocated to the facility once it's built. Memorial in the mean time needs a face lift and is getting it.
