The thing is, no matter how much we like the sound of the new hire it doesn't matter at all. Faison might find some guy who's name means nothing and doesn't look the part and isn't flashy but gets the job done. I'm excited to see who the hire is but I will temper my excitement or displeasure until I hear how things are going inside the program after he gets settled. Ps. Please hire Caruso.

Just watched his hudl. This kid is violent. Great hands and feet. Not super strong yet but fights off every block and uses his quickness as well as some very quick powerful hands. He's a bit of a tweener and it depends if we'll stay in the 3-4 or not. I like what I see from a purely competitive standpoint.

Again not a comment aimed at you or what you said. It is aimed at everyone who buys in to the whole 'NDSU is untouchable and UND is hapless' crap. We are a great hire away from being the best football program in the state again. They're clearly weakened big time right now and UND can overtake them if things are done right and the best guy for UND is hired.

Sounds like you're pretty informed about what's actually going on. Any more info you'd like to share?

Exactly. Perception is reality, if you think UND will always be a lesser program than it shal be so. If you expect and invest in greatness you will get it.

It's still a valid point. Also coaching at a certain level doesn't guarantee quality. There are plenty of hs coaches out there who are better than FBS coaches. There's correlation but not causation.

For all of you 'the new coach needs head coaching experience' people Bohl had none and did alright for NDSU.

Honestly I've always had reservations about Bohl. He always says the right things and looks sincere but for some reason I always smelt something phony. In a way I'm not surprised. It's not quite as bad as tommy tubervile leaving a recruit and his family at a restaurant to go coach Cincinnati.
