NDSU will drop off next year, but it won't be by much. Besides, we can't have the attitude that they need to get worse. I want to beat them at their best so we can have a truly intense rivalry with two great teams like it used to be.
They just can't try and force it like Mussman and co did at first. They really wanted to get a ton of Cali players but that failed miserably because they didn't respect the program and thought it was a joke. I have no problem with a few southern kids each year but only if they're a fit, you can't force it.
Looks like a very good athlete. I'd like to see him throw from the pocket more to see how his feet are. He can throw on the run really well which would work well in our offense. Anyone else see a Phillip Rivers type release?
You could more accurately argue that the UND defense had to cover a lot more yards since MSU could actually move the ball a little bit. Their defense didn't hardly have to move thanks to our hapless offense.
I agree that they should have yanked Mollberg but maybe just maybe they have that little faith in Bartels. In that case something needs to happen to fix the qb situation. Palendech should not have left.
The adjustment we needed to make was to have a qb that can complete a pass or two. The d had a very good first half giving up only 7 points. They can only hold it down for so long, eventually the offense needs to help out.
At this point it seems all they need is a guy to complete a few passes in short and intermediate routes. Last year Bartels could do that, did he digress?
That's what I'm saying. I know bubba will bring in the hogs and dogs we need. I need to see the type of playmakers they bring in this class before I can have the same confidence in that aspect.
Those are the two killers right now though. I have no doubt that our trench play will improve but we need playmakers to balance with a running game and finish drives with a tds.
We need to find an FBS QB and some tall wrs. It reminds me of the year before Golladay came to campus. A bunch of short wrs that were all quick but needed a compliment in taller type wrs.
