  1. Mcfeely blames UND for problems brought on ndsu by their arrogant douche of a president and we're the ones with an inferiority complex. I understand you're an ndsu fan but come on.
  2. When you run into one a-hole, chances are he was an a-hole. When everyone you run into is an a-hole, chances are you're the a-hole.
  3. I've always found it interesting that UND alums and Grand Forks legislators are willing to see and discuss the faults in the UND administration, but the FU folks remain completely blind to their administrators' issues and will defend them to the end of the earth. Only conclusion I can draw is there is a serious need for improvement in critical thinking at FU.
  4. Well AZ St still needs a home. Guessing the rumors of the NCHC taking ASU and MnSU had some legitimacy. Nice of the NCHC to step back and rethink stealing a leading program from the WCHA. Hopefully something can still be worked out with ASU after the dust settles.
  5. Been rethinking the athletics cuts lately. New proposal: We've already cut baseball and men's golf is now self-funded ($750,000). Next we cut swimming and diving completely ($1 million), get approval from the Big Sky to cut men's tennis ($100,000), and reduce funding for women's hockey by 20% ($300,000). That $2,150,000 covers the deficit and most of FCOA and we'd get to keep the sacred cow that is women's hockey. If we think we need more, then it comes time to consider moving everything other than football and hockey to the slummit to save on travel (maybe $300,000) and cut women's tennis ($200,000). The move to the slummit would likely also result in increased revenue (maybe $15-20,000) from ticket sales for MBB, WBB, and VB (just USD and SDSU bumps, as we're already set to play ndsu yearly). That'll put us at 9 women's sports and 7 men's. If the Title IXers complain, it would seem justifiable to allocate half the REA expenses to women's hockey (reducing men's hockey expenses) to increase the women's hockey expenses to $2.3 million. More? If possible, get football into the MVFC and we'd save another $200,000 in travel and increase ticket sales by $100,000.
  6. Men's Golf reinstated for 2 years. Curious what will happen after the 2 years are up though. If they raise enough for another 2 years, but not enough to endow the program, will they be allowed to continue?
  7. Ndsu wouldn't be paid to show those sports on TV and neither is UND. UND gave up $$ in order to get exposure for those teams. How much? No idea, but it renders the comparisons between UND's and ndsu's media deals pretty useless.
  8. Seeing as you were quick to sh*t on our offensive line last year too, including specifically calling out the all-conference center, I'm going to take this post with a big grain of salt. They'll take some time to gel, but should be serviceable by conference play.
  9. Unfortunately the great Bob Kelley signed Faison to an extension through 2020-21 before he resigned. So we're likely saddled with him for 5 more years or facing potentially a seven figure buyout.
  10. Looking at the make-up of the committee, here's what I found for sports affiliations of members: Track & Field - Alycia Cummings - Arts & Sciences (Stanford); Dick Clay - Coach; Jessica Sobolik - Med School; Ian Collins - Student Rep Swimming and Diving - Susan Jeno - Med School (Michigan); Daniella Irle - AD (Tulane/Fresno St); Janna Schill - Med School; McKenzie Jeske - Student Rep Football - Lowell Schweigert - Alumni Rep; Eric Murphy - Med School - 1 yr Football and 2 yrs Track (Hastings College) Golf - Tanis Walch - Education (Omaha) Unsure - Kim Kenville - Aerospace; Mark Askelson - Aerospace; Cherie Graves - Med School; Gary Schindler - Med School; Thomasine Heitkamp - Nursing/Social Work; Nicolas Hanson - Student Rep (College of Business); Brian Faison - AD If Faison and Kennedy plan to axe swimming and diving, I don't expect them to get the supporting recommendation for that from this committee.
  11. Do UND employees coach/help out with the camps? Is this really just a way for UND to pay Goehring without paying him?
  12. A lot of full-time employees at that place. Not saying they aren't busy and needed, but someone's gotta ask
  13. Anyone know why we have $0 in revenue from hockey camps? Does REA and the hockey academy just keep it all?
  14. 1894, but it seems they were on hiatus for a while prior to 1975.
  15. Do they spend $1.5 million per year on it, not including any costs that can be shared with the men's teams?
  16. Just for the record, per USA Today Scott Nagy at South Dakota St receives a salary of $212,000 plus $25,000 of "other pay" plus potential bonuses of $17,000. In 2014, USD was at $185,000 and NDSU was at $190,000. Per its 2015 NCAA report, UND spent 137,000 on Brian Jones, including benefits, bonuses (if any), and the social security and other taxes that go along with employing anyone. That would put his salary around $100,000.
  17. So she, as an aviation professor who apparently doesn't know anything about athletics, should be given authority over the athletic department because her step-dad was a good leader?
  18. How much is KVLY spending to broadcast ndsu women's basketball, volleyball, and women's hockey games, along with a weekly show dedicated to those sports (not football)?
  19. While I also get a nasty taste in my mouth anytime moving to the Slummit is mentioned, who wants to play Sacramento St and Southern Utah? There's going to be some garbage teams/schools in any conference we look to join.
