It seems like this wasn't Faisons decision. He is the easiest target to throw under the bus though. UND had 21 D1 sports. Most full D1 colleges keep less than 19 sports. I find it funny how some people are freaking out on social media when in reality this was a long time coming. I like baseball but there are a few factors going against it: weather, travel expenses (non regional conference), and it does not bring in any revenue. Most of these people complaining have done nothing to support those programs either. I am all about protecting core sports that have entertainment and monetary value. Core Sports: M Hockey, Football, M&W Basketball, Volleyball. Other Big Sky Sports must stay: Tennis, W golf, softball, Track and Field, ETC. Outliers: W Hockey, M&W S&D.

Haha, the hunting dog no longer allows me to quickly fly in so I have to allocate a day for that damn drive. Drive Friday (leave CO at like 3:30 AM), sports Saturday, hunting through following Saturday. Hopefully the hunting plans for Saturday 11/19 shift to a playoff game at the AL!

Budget cuts aside I am looking forward to seeing how this team has progressed on Saturday. I have faith that we are moving in the right direction and am really looking forward to the upcoming season.

It's not when you look at entertainment value and incoming revenue. I love the sport of hockey but I have never been a fan of Womens hockey. It's just not very entertaining and a money pit on top of that. Womens Volleyball- very entertaining to me.

That does make sense to me. I suppose it is not possible to have only Women's S&D? Anyone have an idea of how many schollys Men S&D uses?

When you have an $800k signing bonus in front of you and an $80k AHL salary in front of you I get it. However Thompson is years away from cracking an NHL lineup, the Ducks are loaded at D and they have at least 4 D men in the AHL that are all rated higher than him. I do understand why he would go, but i have to believe another year of increased playing time will greatly benefit him.

Agreed, I signed up for this site in 2011, about a year after I moved to Colorado. I felt a bit disconnected and really started following the Football team (always followed hockey) once they moved up to D1 on 08. I mostly comment on football because pretty much anything I have to say about hockey has already been posted by someone else.

Exactly, I let them chirp. Every year for the DU series in Denver I only go with them to the game one night. The other night I go with UND fans. I can only put up with their antics once per year!

Yeah but after the replay it was pretty clear first contact was with shoulder. It was definitely not a 5 minute penalty and I do believe the 2 minute was properly called.
