Hey I am not unhappy about it at all, I think it's awesome, I heard it from a Hockey dad that was sitting at the table and heard the comment from said parent. So things change. I had also heard the same thing from other people around town. It's a great pick up for UND.

If this lawsuit goes to court it's going to get ugly, some buffoon over on the herald site already blame the REA for this.

I was wondering about that, look I am not happy about losing the Fighting Sioux nickname but it's appears that it's time to move on, we can't win this... Even if Spirit Lake sues the NCAA I can't see this changing, they aren't going to back off their stance... What's to stop the Big Sky Conference from pulling the conference affliation? All of the lawyers on site said that there is no way UND can win this. I wonder if the NDSBoHE will just go ahead and retire the name.

That's why we have to watch these people like a hawk and make sure we don't end up with some stupid name few can rally around.

Just for the record B.R.I.D.G.E.S is the organization that in the past has promoted Sun Dogs for a replacement nickname.

I am not sure how he can call it a cheap shot, it's apparent from reading the blog post that he was very excited.

Go back and read what he wrote you can feel the excitement in his letter. He had no intention of supporting the nickname.
