Coaches show Didn't really get into a lot of things tonight. Talked about the playoff scenario and how Denver was 6th place last year with a young team and is now in first place. Could be cool if UND could do the same thing next season. Dean talked around who was going to play in goal. I guess I would say pick em. Everyone is healthy except Ryan Connelly which we all knew he was done for the year. Everyone else is supposed to be in good health. Coach Blais said UND is going to forecheck and be in their face all night. They have been working on clogging up in front of the Denver net. Talked about the Fight (barely) said Rory McMahn didn't really know he was in a fight until he was hit three times. I didn't see the fight so I can't comment on it personally. Coach Blais said he is going to bring up the fighting rule at the NCAA meeting this spring, because Blais says the WCHA rule is tougher than the NCAA rule. I agree with that too. I hope they can get it changed, I believe that Woog was the one tha pushed for this rule originally... Not much more said... Go Fighting Sioux...

Talk about stats I was not aware of these, talk about a tight race. Think if UND could have won a maybe three more of these games. Fifth place would probably be sowed up...

I actually was really optomistic after the first month of the season when we played really well in a killer schedule the first month. So I guess I would be guilty of having extremely high expectations. I think there was also a lot of pressure on the boys to do good with a new arena.

I had this conversation with my father, however, I don't know who Hasbargen or Oleary would have replaced in the line up? These guys were 4th line players at best. We miss the rifle of Travis Roach and the goals of Jeffie Panzer...

I tell this has been a tough season to watch/stomach after watching the last 5 seasons. But I realize most programs don't have that many good years in a life time of their programs. Where spoiled here in Grand Forks. We are the NHL version of the Detroit Red Wings. Titletown... I mean really I was used to a team down by five able to get back into the game. Except we don't have a Jeffie Panzer, Lee Goren or Jason Blake anymore, sounds like we might get that type of player with a ZACK attack though. I seen flashes of this concept reamerging though 4 goals scored in the 3rd Period against Minnesota, 4 goals score in the third period of the C.C. game...

Dean Blais brought this up this morning on KKXL 1440 that I thought was really interesting. Against the team that UND that are currently behind (UAA and MSU-Mankato) UND got a total of 1 out 8 possible points at home that is why UND is in this pickle they are in now...

I am not sure where Wooger got his information, but remember he likes to take a shot at UND any time he gets a chance so be it. I would love nothing more than to see UofM or any of the top team get knocked out of the final five. I would make a statement about the strenght of our league...

I think if UND could get 3-4 points they could be set. DU is not God either they are very vulernable and beatable. DU however is a very good hockey team...

Sprig if we don't beat out UAA, UofWisc, MSU we are screwed they have the tie breakers... UAA by head to head a (0-1-1) records, UW (3-1-0) MSU-Mankato (2-1-1)... UND is like so screwed. I wish we could play C.C. or UofW...

In case any of you have seen this, this was posted on USCHO, this is what some of UND fans have been fighting and listening too all season, its called jealousy/program envy, ( I liken it to being part of the Oakland Raiders/Dallas Cowboys/Miami Hurricanes programs) everyone hates us or is jealous of our hockey program and some extent our other sports programs because we ussally kick everyone's @$$ and thats fine. JK pretty much had a retort of DTP that was priceless/awesome totally awesome, it was priceless because it was so true, sad thing is that I had forgotten all about the 1997 team and the fact that it had a lot of players no one wanted (Smurfs I believe was what they were called), they were too small and know one knew who they were, nobody wanted them. In fact I had forgotten some of the points until he brought them up again. From time to time when I am feeling down I watch the UND 1997 and 2000 NCAA title games, they just seem to bring up good memories. Last spring My wife when were moving asked me if I wanted to throw the tapes of the NCAA title games

SCCC just beat DU 4-2, so they are going to be charged up to win the McNaughten Cup, ouch.

Might as well get this one going. Big weekend for UND this weekend. Gut check time. Time to make a move or get the golf clubs out. Any thought. I think that UND can beat the Pioneers if they play tough inspired hockey. Denver doesn't have a lot of fire power, and play a boring defensive of hockey. Minnesota beat them with an up tempo style of play.
