  1. Well of course they do. A word of advice as well, never tell someone they are getting on your nerves via a message board. All it does is gives them more reason to stay active.
  2. Trust me, I'm aware that Jimmy Chitwood is no longer with us. We have a great sophomore-to-be class however. Trayvonn Wright is a gamechanger. Mike Felt is money. Taylor Braun is pretty good. Marshall Bjorkland is pretty good too. Pretty young like UND, just bigger.
  3. Trust me, im pretty objective. I thought the Bison were going to have another bad year last year. I'm not even optomistic about this season(No passing game). But 3-8 '09 Bison played in a tough conference, lost a few close games(not claiming moral victory at all, win on scoreboard counts for a lot more). Pat Paschall was unstoppable though, I guess the Bison Faithful can be proud of that. I just don't think you guys can fully comprehend right now how much tougher it gets to win when you play in a real conference. The Great West hasn't gotten you guys ready for real conference football any better than it got us ready. It is a bitch, playing UNI, SDSU, Youngstown, Southern Illinois, etc. NDSU since the Nickel series ended has gotten loads better for the most part. A lot due to the transition, maybe some due to Bohl's recruiting but that more than likely came from moving into Division 1. UND since that overtime win in the Alerus has not showed you guys a lot to be proud of, with the exception of beating UNI, something NDSU just can't quite figure out of late. Back to the main point of the thread, lets see the game in the playoffs, let's get the dome rocking,
  4. Yes, UND won against Northern Iowa, and that was a great win for them. NDSU went in and beat #1 Montana when we were D-2. Anything can happen on a football field. Gene has suggested playing it before. He wants to play it under his circumstances. Haha I am not happy to be on summer vacation, working for a farmer vs. getting A's. I would never be able to be a member of the Herd...5 foot 8. Too short for basketball, 150 pounds, too small for football. I am fully aware that I can have too much confidence in my team, but you guys are really fun to read up on. I love the Bison Kool-aid and it tastes damn good compared to that indian spirit water you fella's are drinking up north.
  5. NDSU from 08 before playoff eligible would kick UND's ass, as well as current NDSU's ass. Just pointing that out. Im just pointing out that UND's team in transition is bball is not even close to what NDSU's was, thats all.
  6. Omaha is bigger than Lincoln too. The Sioux also would not have beaten that terrible 3-8 bison team. UND played a bad schedule. NDSU played a tough conference schedule(not unlike what the sioux will be playing in the BSC) You telling me that the Sioux recruiting classes have been even close to what NDSU has gotten in the last 5 years? In 2000, LaMar Gordon carried that team to a national semifinal in D-2, a game against a team with I think the same record(as usual too lazy to research), played on a mudpit. That game should have been in the dome. Yes, two great regular seasons, another awesome playoff run. Those two great regular seasons were quite possibly two of the greatest bison seasons ever. Had we been eligible, NDSU may(or may not have, which is more likely) have won a national championship with a team that was handicapped by D-2 recruiting. I hope that the University of North Dakota gets better in football, its almost sad seeing how much better the Herd is right now in most sports, the rivalry is much better when both teams are relatively close. It makes the games more fun when one of the teams wins 30-28 or 21-17. But right now, even from a football coach who loves the Sioux, says even when the Herd has had a couple rough years, UND hasn't been even close in talent to NDSU since the Nickel game quit being played.
  7. NDSU would tear UND apart right now. Simple fact regarding the talent each team has. But if NDSU did lose, it'd hurt recruiting bad. Give us one reason we should give up all of our superiority in the region? Yeah, NDSU did lose the last three games they played to UND, but if you looked at the product each team has been putting on the field since then you'd see that their is a reason the dome puts 17-19 thousand asses in the seats and UND has 6-8 thousand.
  8. I wouldn't mind if they kept it, we already got our chants ready then Now about the sanctions.........I wouldn't mind if you guys were America's Cuba.
  9. Ok that was a pretty good burn haha. But I don't know about your basketball team, when our middle of the road summit team outscores them by 28 in the second half, I have a hard time believing UND will be capable of a conference title. I think we swept them in volleyball but our team kind of kicks ass and I don't know if BSC has quality volleyball. Just remember, win in basketball or football and nothing else matters.
  10. Joe's boy from Notre Dame wasn't even really in the running from what I heard, as an avid Notre Dame fan, let me tell you, he'd be lucky to play at UND
  11. NDSU doesn't want to play the game because what is the point anymore? I want them to play, the school doesn't probably for several reasons no one has listed on here. I'd guess one of them being they don't want it to be an annual game, wasting a yearly game on UND instead of playing either a FBS or high-level FCS (Georgia Southern backed out, Stephen F. Austin, etc) is not something NDSU wants to commit to. Another reason, NDSU has done much better job recruiting than UND, say all you want about the 3-8 season, that team just sucked, don't know why, and I dont really care, they were just bad. That was the type of team that could have lost to UND, I still think they would have beat UND by a couple touchdowns, but you never know I guess. A loss to UND could turn a lot of recruits up North. Yet another reason, joking mostly, but why allow a game in the Alerus to sell-out? We all know the only way that UND puts more than 8 or 9 thousand in there right now is if the Herd comes. In all seriousness however, both schools have a lot going on now, UND will be playing a 9 game conference right? NDSU schedules an FBS, a cupcake(sometimes two), and usually an upper-middle tier team. Each school will probably publicly say they want to play(UND more than publicly) but it just isn't in the cards. One of the two schools has been down to play ever since NDSU's jump to D-1, just never at the same time. I'd like to see the game played, but the only way that it probably happens is if UND cries to the Legislature to force it or if they both qualify in the playoffs, in which case, I'd like to welcome you to the Fargodome. Don't get too offended when all you hear for 3 hours is Sioux Suck !@#$.
  12. I do not speak for NDSU, I speak for myself. And if your team wins a conference title in football, and you finish super high ranked, what else can you do I guess. Remember, the fans and the school are seperate entities.
  13. The Great West was a bit different then. SDSU was there, we were there. And in a conference with 5 teams or whatever it was, we scheduled several FBS teams and did pretty dang good against them. I think we are 4-2 now against FBS, during our transition we were 3-1 I believe. I don't care about winning conference titles when it is not getting you into the playoffs, I care more about the product on the field. Tell me, is UND going to finish with the #1 National Ranking in one of the next couple years?
  14. Believe it or not Central Michigan is the best FBS team we played so far. They would have been middle of the road Big Ten team that year.
  15. Rather than herbs, I like adding supplementary dairy products, like Creme Fraiche. www.southparkstudios.com/clips/360883/cafeteria-fraiche
  16. While attendence should go up, UND will need to win, right away if they want "new records" in the Alerus, it would be very hard to warrant a new stadium if you don't sellout each and every game for years., I don't think athletes use the Wellness Center, at least at NDSU they aren't allowed to for team workouts, I'd assume UND is the same and has seperate facilities. The basketball arena for UND is the Betty right? Its very nice in there and people just aren't going right now. I do not think you should complain about the REA considering it is considered one of the best hockey facilities in the nation. Just cause something doesn't hold 100,000 people. Ever heard of Cameron Indoor? Where the mothertruckin' DUKE BLUE DEVILS play, it holds at most 10,000. Great atmosphere and fans. The REA holds something around 11 or 12,000 correct? Sounds like what a hockey game should be holding if you want everyone to have a decent/good seat. Back onto topic, sorry for the rant. Guys like Tate Forcier don't come to places like NDSU or UND. That douche will think he is tough and transfer to some other school where he wont play or he will wise up and end up at Montana, they have that reputation of getting those guys and have a fantastic program right now.
  17. You think they care? How intense of condemnation? Some people in North Dakota and Minnesota send them some e-mails? Are 'Bama, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Duke, or Carolina fans going to care that UND has been forced to change nickname or whatever even though a State law(which is yet to be determined if it is Constitutional yet) says that UND must keep their name?
  18. It is tough to get grandfathered in considering how many schools are really joining the NCAA nowadays? A few NAIA schools every now and then? How many of them will have Native American nicknames? Essentially the policy would be nothing. mikejm hit the nail on the head when he said membership is voluntary/
  19. Arguably is right. You can't say the BSC is tougher than the MVC/Summit. Pretty much the same, although BSC usually has at least one really good football team, this year two teams, and a lot of bottom dwellers. MVC usually has several good teams, maybe one or two really good ones. Summit is rated higher in basketball right now, but that can change in a heartbeat. But in all sports, NDSU can say that they probably had a better transition than UND is having, or at this point can even hope to have. It should be noted however, that NDSU did get lucky and had their best basketball team ever by far, and landed a ton of great recruits for football somehow just as the transition was starting up.
  20. sorry bro, I didn't refresh my browser or something happened where I didn't see that the discussion had went toward Stenejem. He is not my hero though at all, I'm just saying people let him get under their skin too much. He is the biggest Bison fan I think you'll ever find, just uhh....thinks college athletics are bigger than they are.
  21. I know that Lakes rubs some people, well, everyone, even including Bison fans, the wrong way. But from what I hear anyways on BV, when he isn't hiding behind a computer, he is a nice guy who is just a little bit *too intense about things like NDSU which indirectly includes UND. So while everyone will acknowledge he is a tool online, he as a person apparently is not one. Just kind of a 40 year old body with a 13 year old brain anytime anything Bison or Sioux gets brought up. * asterisk with the bold font included denotes sarcasm.
  22. Strength of Schedule is a super fast super easy way to look at if you played a good schedule. It is flawed pretty badly if you really look at it. Say UND plays against a team like Robert Morris, a team that does well in a terrible conference, their strength of schedule shows a win against 9-2 team when in all actuality, RM sucks. However, it is interesting to see the SOS's of each team. Thanks for pulling up those figures.
  23. Your eyeballs would bleed lol
