The loss to St. Cloud hurt but wasn't a mortal blow by any means!! You know the Huskies will probably blow it somewhere down the line but even if they don't - this weeks game is HUGE for the Sioux. Another regional game - this time against the GLIAC - the Sioux will be just fine come out playoff time if they win out but we need butts in the seats this weekend. Ferris is no cupcake and a win would help us but a BIG WIN would help ensure the GLIAC is the conference that has to sweat come playoff selection time, not the NCC. Call some friends, show up, and POUND THOSE PUPPIES!! (the Bulldogs I mean, not...well..nevermind )

NDSU used to say the were the GREATEST TEAM EVER IN DII but they could hardly seem to win a NCC conference championship never mind advance to the NC game in the last, oh, 15 YEARS or SO!! GVSU has brought the GLIAC RESPECT because of what they've accomplished...not just talked about...to quote GW BUSH...BRING IT ON!!!!!

Stuffing the run game will be critical. Birkel is a stud! Our best bet is to contain the running game and hope they have go to the pass - then it's open season on their young QB. Hate to rely on the D every week but when they're that good...it's a nice weapon to have. PS - Don't feed Hermes before the game...he went after Auggie like a starving man with a chicken leg in his sights late last week

According to someone on the field everyday, Carney hasn't shown much initiative in moving up the QB ladder - too bad - at 6'6", he should be able to see the field VERY well. Dale has said JB is available on an emergency basis but it would be interesting to see if push came to shove who would take the field. After a so-so performance last week, we should find out a lot more about Belmore this week. Personally, I think he's up to it
