AGAIN -- the Betty was primarily designed as a practice and non-con bb facility - they assumed (rea) they'd play most of their games in the Ralph but as we found out - a huge vacuous arena has no atmosphere with 3000 people in it. I'm glad they're playing everything in the Betty, despite its faults. 3000 in the Betty rocks and seems like a lot more!

okay...nice win but I have to wonder...how good is DI basketball when ndsu can go to their house! (as a 2nd year di program) and win?? Part of me wants to say...HEY! Yup - pretty well behaved again! My only gripe was with 1 sign they held up a lot tonight.... "FANS WHO SIT...ARE ILLIGIT!" Alright...I'm going to nitpick here but you guys are in COLLEGE and (I assume) have had English 101. "Illigit" refers to ILLEGITIMATE...I guess...two problems...incorrect slang and IT'S SPELLED WRONG! "Legit" is recognized slang for legitimate - "Illigit" is only recognized by NDSU fans who are univerally recongized as MORONS! The sign should have read..."FANS WHO SIT AREN'T LEGIT!" (Hey - I'm only trying to help here guys! You go to a REAL university....reflect it!)

Student Update from tonight: No problems...no foul language...apparently - THEY'RE COOPERATING Best moment of the night when a student held up a sign saying..."Mr. Buning. I'm drunk but NOT disorderly" Buning actually went into the student section - shook his hand and slapped him on the back then rah-rahhed the clapping students around him...all I could do was hum KUMBAYA, My Lord - KUMBAYA!!

The problem there is ClearChannel is the 400lb gorilla of local radio. I doubt Leighton Broadcasting is in any position to put up big bucks for a UND contract. (They'd have to lure Tim and Swyg back ...AGAIN...for 1 thing) And with all the consolidation of radio stations in the last couple years - that's about it for radio competition in GF!

Are pissed off alums (and other old cranky people) the problem right now?? hopefully some of the "mandatory attendees" will give a recap of the meeting tomorrow night...

90% of the time? man - I've had a lot of bad luck on the 10% side of that deal - anyway - I'm guessing a lot of alums have voiced their displeasure at both the radiocast and video webcast to UND directly (I know I have!). The video webcast thing is, I'm pretty sure, an REA venture so you know they'll do what they want but there's no excuse in my mind for not being able to dial up the radio broadcast RELIABLY on the internet. UND athletics is apparently unable or unwilling to correct it...maybe it's $$$ but I'd hate to think they'd tick off fans and alums to save a couple bucks! BTW - I dialed up GVSU's FB games several times this last season - worked great every time. It was simple - just 1 camera and some shmo doing a play by play but it worked and it was FREE! I dialed up a couple UNA games last season as well and their radio webcast* also worked fine and THAT'S ALABAMA for crying out loud! * BTW - best commercial on the Alabama station was for the REPO DEPOT! (I'm not kidding!)
