Well, both of them will have to give up possession of it sometime during the off-season since both schools are moving to different conferences.

Last night was good enough, we won despite not playing our best game. I guess some people (myself included) are just concerned about some things that will hurt us big-time in the playoffs. Giving up goals right after we score, giving up too many shots and scoring chances, ect. And remember, this is a place to vent to like-minded fans after a tough loss. That means sometimes being harsher than is warranted. I know I have posted some very negative things that 24 hours later I wish I could take back. Most of the people on ss.com are die-hard, legitimate fans of the program. The few that aren't are easy to ignore as outliers.

That's total BS.

And as I told that same poster, I have been a fan of this team since I was 6 or 7 years old and I will always be a fan of this team, win or lose. But that doesn't mean I won't point out what is wrong with the team and why it needs to be fixed. Legitimate criticism is not the same as "hating" or "abandoning".

Just keep running your mouth, son. Remember how you and your fellow Rodent fans were dancing in the aisles to Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" at the Xcel Energy Center on Friday semifinal night late in the 2nd period last year? Remember what happened in the 3rd period last year? It's tough to be on the business-end of Karma. You are playing with fire. Spring break is next week. Let's hope the student hockey fans come back early on Friday to support the team. I think they will.

I think you are confusing "haters" with hard-core fans that hate losing. There is a huge difference between those groups. If you want Sioux haters, just go to St. Paul in a couple of weeks. I always get a bunch of smart remarks from fans wearing urine-colored clothing who then run and hide in the crowd so you can't respond. Kind of like the urine-colored players on the ice!

And unfortunately, there are several legitimate things to worry about.

Better hope Tech doesn't have a "hot goalie".

This is the point I have been making on my posts on this subject. But when I have the umitigated nerve to point it out, I get raked over the hot coals. Oh well, it's a tough job, but somebody has to do it.

After the GWG, I turned the channel and threw my remote down in disgust. That was absolutely outrageous. Those snot-nosed punks got the title handed to them on a silver platter. Thank God they are moving up to AA next year or else you could just as well rename the A tournament the St. Thomas Academy Invitational, where the other seven teams are simply there to play the "jobber" role.

I think it's high time that private schools be REQUIRED to be in Class AA. Private schools have an inherent, built-in advantage over even the large public schools that will never be overcome.

I am not declaring academics and television money a non-factor, it just wasn't part of the point I was trying to make to Mr. Marriucci. He seems to think that schools that aren't "big time" in every sport are not worthy of being on the mighty U of M's schedule and I took exception to that. Please don't jump to conclusions. Is the Big Ten second-rate to the Big Sky or the Slummit? Heck no. Is it a notch or two lower than conferences like the SEC and ACC? You say no. I say yes.
