  1. Heck, I might have trouble getting my a$$ up for a 12:30pm kickoff.
  2. We would end up being the Red Headed Stepchild of the B1G. They would take us to get to 8 teams, then treat us like dirt while they kiss Notre Dame's Irish a$$. And I just don't see them making the move worth our while in terms of $$$$$ and TV coverage.
  3. Don't bother trying to decipher his delirious rantings. The planet he lives on hasn't been discovered yet.
  4. Why not? We would have a solid chance of beating them. And an FBS win is an FBS win.
  5. That's the problem, I don't see the snobs in the B1G agreeing to make it worth our while from a monetary standpoint.
  6. Which means the idea is DOA.
  7. Well, my birthdate is May 13th, so putting down 43 is inaccurate. Boy, am I anally retentive!
  8. I am 43+ and I feel the same way. So many great games, so many great moments. The rivalry goes beyond the coaches and players to the fan base and even the media on both sides.
  9. So you think everything is a zero-sum game? Elevating FB and MBB will NOT cause problems for hockey. #falsechoices #redherrings
  10. That would be a B1G Mistake (pun intended).
  11. The Buck Stops with the President. Not the AD.
  12. My point is that the delay in moving up was caused by Kupchella, as he was in charge at the time.
  13. To be fair to Roger, Kupchella was the President when we decided not to move up with the XDSUs. The final decision was his, not Roger's.
  14. I would applaud that. #replacerudolph
  15. This had better not be an announcement that they are raising money for something (they are ALWAYS raising money for something).
  16. Not being in the same conference takes some of the flavor away.
  17. Some people want the glee clubs like Fall Creek to do it every single home game. No thank you, I like Lindquist.
  18. UND-Minnesota is as mean and nasty as it gets. I don't care what anyone says.
  19. The point is that Hakstol took many healthy, loaded teams to the Frozen Four and had an abysmal 1-7 record. That is totally different than what FB is dealing with right now.
  20. 2002 was an injury-plagued year that ended 5-6. 2005 was a great season ruined by us blowing a 19-0 4th quarter lead vs. Omaha in the Alerus Center and losing 20-19. And then having to watch Grand Valley Freaking State win it all again. It was almost more than I could stomach. In contrast, 2001, 2003 and 2004 were great years.
  21. You are right, we are promoting those programs more than we used to. And that is a great thing. I just don't want to have a great hockey program and mediocre D-I programs. I don't think Kennedy will allow that to happen.
  22. I just think people are frustrated and anxious to have a winner in the Alerus Center again. They think of the period between 2001 and 2005 and the powerhouse teams we had and all the noise and chaos we would unleash on our opponents. And they are sick and tired of hearing about NDSU 24/7/365. And I don't blame them for that. I feel the same way. But if we step back as fans and give Bubba and company more time to build the team and program they want to build, it will make this season a little easier to swallow. Good things come to those who wait. And they will come to us. #daybyday
  23. The parallels are very striking: 1986: NDSU is a D-II power; UND is in the toilet and has just made a coaching change. 2013: NDSU is an FCS power; UND Is in the toilet and has just made a coaching change. We weren't going to the playoffs and beating NDSU four years into the Roger Thomas era and you cannot expect that to happen this time either. But if we keep plugging away, we'll get there.
  24. Moving up to Division I in all sports means we cannot treat every non-hockey sport as a red-headed stepchild anymore. If we want to do that, we should move down to D-II and join the NSIC. Then we'll get to watch our team in the Thursday Night NSIC Game of the Week on MidcoSN!!!
  25. Nobody said it would be fixed overnight. But that is what some people on here want. It doesn't work that way, especially in a team sport like football. So what is your solution? Get rid of the program? The ship for doing that has sailed. You don't build an indoor practice facility big enough for FB and then get rid of the program. Like it or not, we have no choice but to make this program a success. And our time will come.
