Alright, I guess losing by 25 is acceptable then.
-
umm NO; you only take that shot 100% of the time if youre Mussman. There are exceptions to throwing that pass with that coverage, like if you have the lead late in the game or if you're in field goal range. I understand it sometimes works and therfore I don't necessarily disagree with the call, it just shouldnt be called 100% of the time because it obviously doesnt work 100% of the time.
-
Mussman can't coach or lead and that won't change overnight or after a year. All we're doing is allowing the program to suffer more and the fan support to decrease while we HOPE this thing turns around with Mussman at the helm. Let me save you the trouble of wondering and hoping, it won't turn around.

I agree; I forgot about Hardee and overlooked Brewster. The other revenue sports (Football and Men's Basketball) have question marks at head coach, that really sounds like a great strategy.................
-
Yeah, they have two plays to pick up a yard (if you expect to go for it on 4th down) and they decide to throw a deep route and run a dive straight up the middle when the whole world expects that............... Mussman is a horrible coach and an even worse leader
-
Perfect Sounds about right

Refer to my post(s) in the Northern Colorado threads. Basically, get rid of this absolute idiot. Blowout losses, horrible game understanding and awareness, no leadership, blown leads and playcalling woes, losing seasons.... the list goes on and on and on Lets get this program going in the right direction. Not only the fans and alumni but the players deserve it and I'm sure they want it. I'm now off to watch our one lone team that has a competent head coach. I don't even want to start on basketball after today's game versus Northern Iowa, another mid-major.
-
If you want butts in the seats Faison, fire that idiot we call our head coach.
-
LET THE AXE DOWN FAISON IF YOU'VE GOT ANY LOSING SEASON DUE TO HORRIBLE COACHING FIRE THAT IDIOT SO WE CAN GET THIS PROGRAM IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, I'M SICK OF WATCHING INCOMPETENT UND FOOTBALL Now that I've got that out of my system, this may have actually been a blessing in disguise - we now have a final reason (one to add to a long list) to fire Muss.

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!

Against Crown College, the team should have more assists, points, rebounds, and other statistics regardless of whether Huff is playing or not. Down the stretch, Huff will be NEEDED. Although I haven't seen Nash play in person, HC Jones said in preseason interviews that Nash would likely be the starting 4 because of the versatility he brings, in fact, Jones said he presents the type of player he has never had here at UND. He is a long lengthy guy with tremendous athletic ability. Just because he averaged 2.5 ppg last year doesn't mean he is incapable; after all, he played in the Big 12 and he only played in one game for more than 30 min (vs. Wake Forest - 15 points, 7 rebounds). This guy would make a considerable difference.
-
Okay, so by the sounds of it Huff only sat this game because they're treating the concussion with precaution (as they should). With that, Huff should be back against either Northern Iowa or Hawaii. Also, Jamal Webb should be back for the next game because he was suspended for only this game. With those two back either next game or the one after, I'm not too worried. After all, there was no reason to play them - we ended up winning by 30+ anyways! The only other ? remaining is Jaron Nash. It's frustrating because he SHOULD be able to play immediately and he could be the difference between being a top 3 Big Sky team or not as he provides that crucial front court depth required to be a good college basketball team. I hope he gets cleared and can be on the court sooner rather than later....I'm growing impatient.
-
I hope youre joking about Huff..... If not, that really really sucks. Also, this wait for Jaron Nash is ridiculous. The NCAA needs to get their head out of their a**
-
Team wins on Friday, parties hard on Frday night, sucks it up on Saturday. Getting to be the norm so far this season.
-
This discussion really is circular because it is centered on the same goal: win
-
Best pure passing Big Sky quarterback vs. arguably the worst Big Sky defense..... I can't see this thing going the right way unless it is like the Montana game and we perform an aerial fireworks show.
-
Winning is by far the main priority and for good reason, but to ignorantly state NDSU's success has nothing to do with UND's attendance is a stretch to say the least - history and common sense suggest otherwise.
-
Until UND comes out hot with a 4-0 or so start and ends up with a playoff type season, ~9,000 attendance and poor student turnout will be the norm. I would love for the Alerus to be sold out every game and I think it should be, but you have to look at both sides of the issue. NDSU owns the majority of North Dakota and western Minnesota football fan interest, so that’s where the crowds go. If UND can establish themselves as being on the same level as NDSU, attendance and the general fan interest will increase. Let’s not be so ignorant and naive that we completely disregard NDSU's success; they will be the benchmark or standard many people hold for UND if they are to have general relevance. Other than the type of loyal fans, alumni, and students you see on this site and thread, most are of the idea that UND is 2nd in the state of ND when it comes to FB. That must change or be much more debatable for attendance to change. Another way to explain this theory is with an example: If next year NDSU has a losing season and UND makes the playoffs, what do you think the average 2014 attendance numbers will be? I strongly believe NDSU would see a decrease and UND would see that increase towards the 11,000 range we all want to see. [Ag school trolls, this is just hypothetical to make a point] Attendance between the two schools is a related dynamic. The schools are linked in terms of interest and following, whether we want to believe it or not.

Montana St Game........ Thats Montana St not NDSU

This team's attitude is a joke, and yet we have people (100% biggest homers/dreamers in Grand Forks) that think this football team's attitude and demeanor will allow us to win a conference championship in the future. This team's leadership is sh*t!! If we at least played tough in every game but came up with a 4-7 or 5-6 record, it would be different, but to lose 55-10 and 55-17 to conference teams is absolute BS. If you guys can't see this, get your heads out of your a**. Something needs to change; if not Mussman, a considerable amount of assistant coaches and players. -
SUU just beat EWU (#1 in country) and we just lost to MSU 55-10......................... Yeah, there's my favorite for this one
-
Umm, I think 5-6 or 4-7. Not likely we see 6-5. SUU is a good football team and coming off that a** kicking in Bozeman, this team will not do anything special against SUU. If we go 4-7, you've got to wonder...... but, I don't think it will happen (the termination)
-
I can tell you we took a step back in terms of fixing this problem with yesterday's performance.....

Losing 55-10 is something you expect when you play a big FBS payout game against a Big 10 or Big 12 power, not against our supposed conference rival!! We are terribly behind in many aspects and it isn't just talent, so don't think a year or two of recruiting is going to change this. This program needs an attitude adjustment.....desperately. -
This year's Cal Poly, Northern Arizona, and Montana State teams would've ran all over us last year, just not quite as bad as this year. Last year's record was a joke. We beat three non-D1 teams so really we had a 5-3 season, barely.
-
The jury is still out on Mussman. This thread doesn't need to be active every week to confirm that; his coaching and his team’s performance today just reminded us that questions and doubts still should exist. Heck, beating a team with a 3-4 record at home on a last second play isn't necessarily convincing, it just gives you hope he’s maybe improving. How much longer do we wait? I'd say let him have at least one more year and see if recruiting while in the Big Sky changes anything.
