  1. The amount of roster change from 2013 to 2014 will be incredibly large. My only question regarding this is why was Cheatom participating in spring ball if this occurred before spring practices? Nevertheless, I believe the amount of roster turnover that has happened is actually somewhat encouraging, because Bubba and his staff are recognizing and dismissing the weak links on the roster. Such antics and inferior talent likely contributed to the poor play of Mussman's teams. Of course, improved coaching and leadership from the top will go a long way as well.
  2. UND is NDSU's #1 rival and NDSU is UND's #1 rival. That's the way it is. If anyone tries to say that NDSU has "moved on", well then, they just need to pay attention to this forum and all the NDSU people on it.
  3. The fact that there is this much chatter about UND-NDSU scheduling non-conference games just shows how screwed up this whole situation has been made by both Gene Taylor and Brian Faison. I look at Colorado-Colorado State, Iowa-Iowa State, Florida-Florida State, Utah-Utah State, etc. etc. and see that they just do the most obvious thing and just schedule each other! The fact this whole UND-NDSU scheduling conversation even exists is embarrassing to the state of North Dakota and UND/NDSU.
  4. Its really just speculation, but given what Bubba has said over the past few months, and how the current roster is laid out, I would imagine they are at least looking for FBS transfer ball carriers.
  5. If the staff is allowed one more roster addition, they may still be looking to add an FBS drop-down tailback.
  6. I guess I went with the assumption he wasn't going to be on the team next fall. In the event he is, I'd like to think he would play over the two incoming freshmen wide receivers, Walker and Ferguson.
  7. Absolute shot in the dark, but here it is: QB: 1) Joe Mollberg 2) Ryan Bartels HB: 1) Cedric Simmons 2) Adam Shaugabay FB: 1) Dustin Iverson 2) Dwayne Pecosky TE: 1) Zach Adler 2) Tucker Nordby WR1: 1) RJ McGill 2) Tyhre Ivery WR 2:1) Casey Young 2) Brandon Walker LT: 1) Brendan Slaight 2) Dan Bell LG: 1) Colton Boas 2) Sean Meehan C: 1) Ben Henson 2) Shea Walker RG; 1) Brandon Anderson 2) Jacob Francis RT: 1) Devin Barton 2) Adam Stiner LE: 1) Jordan Hinojosa 2) Alex Carrothers NT: 1) Shea Walker 2) Jonathan Harris RE: 1) Marcus Cheatom 2) Spencer Cummings LOLB: 1) Javen Butler 2) Alex Hickel MLB1: 1) Will Ratelle 2) Brian Labat MLB2: 1) Dylan Bakker 2) Ben Peters ROLB: 1) Dayo Idowu 2) Brandon Larson CB1: 1) Alex Tillman 2) Chris Carter CB2: 1) Dominic Blackmon 2) Charles Flowers FS: 1) Chris Hannible 2) William James SS: 1) Baylee Carr 2) Cole Reyes K: Reid Tauberheim P: Mitch Meindel
  8. Yeah, I'd also hate winning three national championships but then losing the first game I play against my true rival in over 10 years - that would be a bummer!
  9. GT won't schedule UND; thus, he goes in circles to avoid directly proclaiming it! Mighty NDSU recognizes their kryptonite I guess.
  10. Would like to see a deal with Nike, being most UND teams currently have Nike uniforms. Hockey may be the reason a deal has not been signed - I'd imagine the hockey program is satisfied with Reebok.
  11. I see Northern Arizona also has adopted the alternate helmet color idea. Priority #1 for UND needs to be green jerseys, though. They should be Nike and of the same style as the black and white jerseys. Hopefully some kind of fundraising happens so that the jerseys can be obtained by the start of the season. Fans and student-athletes both deserve to see/wear their primary school color - let's get nice green jerseys!
  12. Bubba is exactly the savior we think he is. He has a tremendous amount of passion for the University of North Dakota; much more than Klieman has for NDSU. Furthermore, Bubba was apart of SIU teams that beat NDSU and consistently posted winning records - UND supporters will take that over Mussman any day. Just watch as UND improves year after year. Recruiting in the local states (ND, MN, WI) is an emphasis now; it will help UND and hurt NDSU. Replacing Bohl and all those seniors will not be a walk in the park like all you blind Ag School fans think it will be.
  13. Let's see how Klieman and replacing your mighty seniors goes first...
  14. WRONG. Brian Faison faxed a copy of the initial proposal (2015 in Fargo, 2017 in Grand Forks) back in 2012 to Gene Taylor -- nothing happened after that. Instead, Gene Taylor changed the proposal to a single game in Fargo during the 2015 season. Then, he changed the guarantee from 170-190k to only 125k. In essence, Taylor has been doing everything at his disposal to avoid playing the game. He must realize he has everything to lose and nothing to gain - other than revenue. UND will likely be the better team by the time the two teams actually play. We want a home and home -- that's how a rivalry is renewed, not a single game in Fargo due to the terms of the ALMIGHTY NDSU ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT. It seems you've resorted to derogatory personal attacks. Everyone knows the golden rule of debate is that when one loses, he or she often has no choice but to attack the opposing debater personally, rather than adopt a new discussion strategy. And well, with that It appears you've ran out of ridiculous replies and you're now calling posters "idiots". Of course, you likely didn't realize that because logical debate certainly doesn't occur at NDSU.
  15. Wrong. Most NDSU fans would embrace the game, and, well, many want it. I know some of the biggest bison fans in the state of North Dakota (hundreds of thousands of dollars put into buses, season tickets, go to every road game, etc. etc. etc.) and they all want to see the rivalry renewed so they can *PROVE* they are way better than UND. Instead, you argue that everyone should just accept that NDSU will always be so so much better than UND. Well, that's wrong. UND will catch NDSU sooner rather than later. You're just using subjectivity as a way to argue your nonsense.
  16. That may be, but the fact still remains that Gene Taylor has continued to alter the terms of an agreement that seemed pretty straightforward. Schedule two games: one in Fargo, one in Grand Forks. NDSU can have the first game since they're so accomplished and spectacular. As the emails reveal, Gene Taylor doesn't want that, and all the NDSU faithful blindly rally behind Taylor. Eventually, this game will be played, likely in the playoffs. Hypothetical scenarios are a way to illustrate how that just might happen, and how it would've been in the best interest of NDSU to schedule the '15 and '17 games as they were originally proposed.
  17. Gotta love the almighty bizzon of ag school nation I guess
  18. You're producing a spin yourself with your narrow perspective on this argument. There is no reason UND should have to accept a single game in Fargo in order to "get the ball rolling". If Gene Taylor can schedule a home and home with Weber State, then certainly he should be able to do so with UND. In fact, the ball should "get rolling" with a mutual agreement and a home/home. Agreeing to just a single game in Fargo is what Ag School nation wants, because it makes GT and NDSU look so almighty and powerful. Give it a couple years with no Bohl and substantially better leadership at UND, and then GT's leverage will be much diminished.
  19. I believe NDSU has a much better team right now, so then why not schedule the home/home and prove it? Apparently Gene Taylor believes his NDSU team will be better than UND in 2015, but not 2017? He must recognize the improvement trend that UND has already exemplified under Bubba Schweighert. The point I made earlier was that NDSU should be willing to prove, ON THE FIELD, that they are better than UND. Instead, its all done through speculation. Now, the consensus may be that the 2013 NDSU team was far better than the 2013 UND team, but 2014 is a different season my friend. No Craig Bohl and add in Bubba Schweigert.
  20. Brian Faison wants a home/home, and I agree. If GT feels UND is just "another game" and won't schedule a home/home, then UND shouldn't schedule the game. We'll just have to meet in the playoffs and prove to Ag School nation that NDSU vs. UND is not just "another game".
  21. Improvement happening in front of our eyes. No reason UND -- once established -- shouldn't be a perennial top 25 FCS program, especially with the facilities. Gotta love the passion of Bubba and his staff, along with the indoor practice facility soon coming online.
  22. Although the game should be played for several straightforward reasons, I do believe there should be equal footing in the negotiations. If GT *THINKS* the NDSU football program is so great, then Brain Faison's strategy is smart: let the NDSU teams simmer down to mediocrity over the next couple seasons, and then with GT having less leverage, get the home/home scheduled.
  23. Another bullsh*t excuse. If you can't handle scheduling/playing UND, then your almighty national championships apparently are a big fluke and NDSU doesn't think they are as good as their record/championships show. And really, when it comes down to it, this is about a game that in all commonsense should be scheduled. Distance, history/tradition, statewide interest, etc. are all reasons why. That's why this game should be scheduled; not because this game would be "UND's Super Bowl", but rather because it only makes sense that it should be played all the time. The fact GT continually shuffles his feet and changes his stance on the game shows his lack of confidence in the NDSU teams moving forward.
  24. Wrong. UND is a FCS football program that is 75 miles away and has a long standing history and tradition against NDSU in football. If you can't see that for what it is, then you are just arguing for own sake, rather than objectively analyzing the situation. This should be an established rivalry, even now in the DI days. With NDSU being so holy and mighty, they should welcome the rivalry with open arms and want to *PROVE* on the field that they are the best team in the state. Instead, you argue national championships, Brian Faison's nonexistent negotiating issues, 12 game schedules, and countless other bullsh*t points. Bottom-line is that Gene Taylor continues to change his negotiating points because he can't just "straight-up" schedule a home and home game with UND. He is too afraid for his almighty/holy program and/or he doesn't understand the favor he would be doing for the state of North Dakota, including the NDSU faithful. UND doesn't NEED NDSU either. Watch as our program consistently improves each and every season under the leadership and passion of Bubba Schweigert. Ultimately, this isn't the same Bubba that you saw in SIU; he is now a leader at a place he is passionate about. He will bring UND back up to the top, regardless of the level of competition. UND deserves to be a top FCS program, and with Bubba, it will get there. As far as the scheduling goes, NDSU would make just as much revenue, and likely more, with UND coming to town instead of some other lowly FCS team. Everything Gene Taylor and you hopeless Ag School fans have been spewing out has been nothing but complete bullsh*t. Just accept the home and home and lets get this rivalry renewed. If you're too arrogant and selfish to do that, or accept that premise in the case of the fans/supporters, then we'll have to just meet in the playoffs where the circumstances won't be as favorable for NDSU.
