  1. I’m embarrassed for everyone involved. I won’t divulge anything specific right now, but circumstantially, this is incredibly embarrassing for UND football.
  2. Addition by subtraction? Likely not. Bubba’s defense is awful.
  3. Just sick and tired of hearing Bubba Schweigert’s nonsensical rambling and lack of quality leadership. Student-athletes are too. Sooner or later, need to have accomplishments tied to your words. Hope 2024 is “different”
  4. Landry hire provides some optimism. But plenty of concern given Schwenzfeier’s defense and Bubba’s lack of leadership and “it” factor with this generation of college football players. We will see if 2024 is any different, but schedule is tough, and extending the status quo if there aren’t major improvements (winning playoff games) would be blasphemy in my opinion. With that said, I hope Bubba goes 12-0 (and doesn’t go one and done in playoffs) and shuts the doubters up (including myself) in 2024.
  5. Rather than always looking for exceptions to the rule to justify Bubba Schweigert still being UND HC, maybe, just maybe, we should pay attention to the rule of the thumb; that is, what usually happens. If you can’t get it done after 10 seasons, you probably can’t get it done.
  6. Well, as for 2013 SIU, Bubba’s defense was not exactly something to write home about either … 2013 SIU: Averaged 28.5 ppg on offense and defense gave up 25.2 ppg. So, you tell me; was the offense or the defense more impressive? And who did UND hire, the OC or the DC?
  7. Yes, if they beat NDSU, SDSU and/or Montana. Otherwise, no guarantees.
  8. Cause people are finally realizing … his “good guy” projection can’t get him everything forever. Time to move on.
  9. Can’t change the past, but can learn from it to affect the future. That’s still important here, so think about that when the posts are regurgitated. On that note, a career-concluding, decade-plus head coach is not what UND football needs right now.
  10. Check would be nice, but they get nice checks every year and fail to put it to good use (keeping/extending hopeless Bubba, fail to raise coaches salary pool, etc.). UND football is lost … As for Alabama, if you want to see them play, just go down for any upcoming game. No need to see UND get destroyed in order to do it. With all that, I see and get the joke in all of this (Moo U - we want ‘Bama).
  11. Absolutely. Our position as a farm program for FBS programs should also include being a farm program for coaches. The fact our current HC has been here over a decade in this day and age should tell you all you need to know about how (and why) UND football is in a bad place right now. Need a more enthusiastic, big plans type of guy at head coach, which is exactly why losing Danny Freund has been hurtful. Bubba Schweigert has drained this program dry, and at this current moment, continues to do so, which absolutely is devastating.
  12. Talk about an epic fail in 2013 for UND …
  13. And instead we got a greedy stubborn Bubba Schweigert… what a joke…
  14. @jdub27 wanna “make a stand” and predict the number of wins in 2024? Too early for solid predictions in my estimation, as don’t even know Fall roster or coaching staff at this point, but just curious since you’re kinda a 99% glass full kind of guy for UND… I’ll just say that at this early juncture - with the right to change predictions based on upcoming staff/roster changes - that I see a 6-6 season upcoming in 2024. Of course, I certainly hope that leads to a house cleaning.
  15. UND hockey is all they care about at this point in time. It’s hockey season; football manners all put on hold. I agree - very sad state of affairs for UND football (and basketball or any other sport not played on ice at UND).
  16. It’s all about collecting money at this point, thus Bubba has dissolved his reputation to rubble. Simply put, he didn’t deserve to be head coach for more than 5 seasons; 2018 should’ve been his last. He’s been in over his head for a while.
  17. And this is why Gundy knows ball. Amen. I couldn’t agree more. It’s also why our defense is not where it needs to be; no one to focus in, recruit, and develop the guys in the trenches.
  18. There are hundreds of coaches that I would be pleased with as they would be an upgrade; remains to be seen if that will happen. And you better “prove it” or pull a quote where I said “Danny is a D2 coach” because I never typed that, said that, or believed that. Now you’re just talking pure bullsh*t. I’ve said it before and will say it again: UND lost the only guy on staff that could possibly do better than the current head coach. Now, they’ll have to go outside the staff when Bubba is hopefully fired or forced out to retirement (which may in fact be the reason Danny Freund left to begin with).
  19. Umm … to pull a Saban you have to have first formed a perennial powerhouse and won numerous championships … Bubba is nearly the polar opposite. So no “pulling a Saban” happening anytime soon. UND ain’t going to attract anyone external worthwhile at OC. 2024 is lost. 2025 can be saved though with termination and then subsequent thoughtful external hiring.
  20. Which is going to happen again. History repeats itself. It’s quite cyclical in fact. We willing to try break the cycle?
  21. I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once … so yes … all of the above. I bet you think you’ve canceled me in excellent left-wing fashion; good job, you should be so proud.
  22. I don’t see how UND can lure anyone outside program now … unless that person is clueless, in which case 2024 will be a disaster anyways.
  23. It wouldn’t be good. UND isn’t going to be good in 2024. Extending Bubba only ensures UND football isn’t good for more seasons beyond that. But I get your reasoning, and it easily could happen, which is frightening.
  24. Danny cannot be blamed with this at all. He absolutely made the right move given the circumstances. This fiasco is a result of horrific decisions made (or not made) by Bubba Schweigert, Bill Chaves, and the entire UND athletics administration. With that said, their hands are somewhat tied, unfortunately, given the highly controversial agreement with REA, Inc., Engelstads, etc. … an agreement that probably works if you’re a division II institution, but not a division I institution.
