Schmidt doesn’t walk on water, but when comparing UND’s offense to UND’s defense, it’s obvious which one is truly pathetic.
-
This is the worst; it’s become the absolute norm for UND under Bubba.Tom Miller’s article sort of predicted this would happen. The mental make-up of Bubba’s teams is lacking and it leads to no consistency.
-
Coaches recruit the players, install the schedule and expectations, and finally, on game day, call the plays. Blame always comes back to the coaches no matter how you spin it, particularly when looking at a large sample size (3+ seasons)
-
Obviously too emotional to talk about firing the whole works, but this program needs changes. Man this is a typical UND football season ruining blunder under Bubba. Tom Miller just wrote about this issue in the GF Herald. Damn this is typical bull$%!# repeating itself.

Fire Rudolph and this joke of an offensive crew

Since you need the entire situation explained for you: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/football/4502705-potato-bowl-und-looks-handle-momentum-better

Bit sensitive much? Losing after a big win or just barely pulling out a sloppy 3 point win has been the norm for UND under Bubba. Best predictor of the future is the past. Sorry bud that you can’t see that. Here, Tom Miller even wrote a story about it to help you understand: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/football/4502705-potato-bowl-und-looks-handle-momentum-bettered I hope UND crushes Idaho State.

In college football, with polls and such, just winning doesn’t get it done unfortunately. How you win does matter.
-
UND just held Sam Houston State to 23 points... at their place. No way UND should allow more than that in the Alerus Center to Idaho State ... UND 24 Idaho State 17 UND offense continues to struggle to put up points
-
In other words, UND football will once again be UND football ... Damn, was finally hoping to see something new and improved from “Bubba Ball” We’ll see who’s actually right tomorrow: the cautionaries or the revolutionists?
-
Time for UND to take the next step and start winning with a sense of dominance. Don’t know about you, but I’m sick of playoff-less seasons.
-
Right, they’re the second coming of Idaho football. Oh wait, they’re shlt too. I expect a win by 21 + or else I’ll be disappointed; close win would be a missed opportunity in front of a big Homecoming crowd.
-
An offense magically appears all of a sudden ...
-
Just win baby! Day by Day. On to Idaho State!
-
That is my early prediction for the top 3 teams. Only 3 weeks so far with no conference games - things can obviously change yet.
-
I completely agree. UND and Bubba need to show something for the fans. The fans will be expecting a big performance with the hype coming off the Sam Houston State game. Whether some like it or not, the fact is in college football - with polls and such - style points are actually very important and winning 7 to 3 (although a win) with plenty of beloved punting is just not good.
-
Really, besides a few select teams that are highly overrated (Montana, Montana State) and the scenic locations, the Big Sky Conference is !@#$. Weber State appears to be the only real contender this season although EWU and Montana got a shot. Hello and good to see you MIssouri Valley Football Conference.
-
When you beat a top 5 team on the road, and you are undefeated against FCS competition (2-0), you should be a top 25 team. Idiotic if UND doesn’t at least make #25 in polls. All in all, though, UND needs to just keep winning and that will get them in the polls.
-
Agree with this. His ability relative to the Offensive Coordinator is certainly different.
-
I am so absolutely proud of Bubba Schweigert and his football team (and belated happy birthday to him as well). UND handled the challenge put out in front on them with maturity, confidence, and perseverance. Wow! What a job by everyone involved for UND! Enjoy it appropriately, then put in the work and put it out there again for the home fans to enjoy during the Potato Bowl/Homecoming Game on September 22nd against Idaho State.
-
We hope for a good game with no injuries. Also, hope the physical boys from North Dakota pound Sam Houston State. Go Hawks!
-
On a road to a championship, there will always be doubters and pundits (and far too many in Fargo), but eventually the group of guys have to believe in themselves, their hardwork, and preparation and prove themselves. Make a name for the University of North Dakota down in the Lone Star State. Back in 2009, UND traveled down to Texas to play a tough FBS Texas Tech team. Everyone “knew for sure” UND would lose by 50. They played tough, a certain player now on staff picked off Texas Tech QB three times, and as a team proved to people that UND belonged in the DI ranks. Today, again in Texas, the North Dakota student-athletes - for all the UND supporters - prove again they belong in DI. Play hard, smart, focused, know who and what you represent, and get a huge win for UND football. Soar! Go Fighting Hawks!
-
Wouldn’t it be great if we for once could talk about our offense possibly winning the game for UND? Damn offense is so poorly run. But I agree with you completely. UND wins this game only if Schmidt’s defense gets some sacks and especially some turnovers (strip sacks, interceptions). UND’s poorly run offense can’t do it on their own; no creativity or competitive gameplanning at all on that side of the ball.
-
These damn predictions ... Obviously Sam Houston State is favored as they should be, so we have half the people on here being “realistic” and picking SHSU. Upsets happen every week in college football and I have no money on the game: GO UND FIGHTING HAWKS - GET THE WIN!
-
I agree. Weather won’t do anything. Pretty pathetic if anyone is honestly betting on that. UND needs to be able to stop the pass and pass the ball themselves. If they cant, watch out.
