My favorite part was how she kept talking up the cold. I expect it to be the weeks of highs in the -20's, but then she claims it's eight above.
Today it was five degrees and i was thinking about busting out the shorts. In a related topic, Rick Killion writes excellent editorials in the Prairie Business Magazine (prairiebizmag.com). In one of them, he gently reprimanded North Dakotans that they were shooting themselves in the foot when bragging or boasting about how cold it was to people from out of state.
It only hurt and falsified the state's image even more, he thought. Instead, when someone from, say, Georgia was talking to you on the phone during a business transaction, don't go along with the "Man, it's cold up there, isn't it?! I don't see how you can stand it!" conversation. Killion believed that each North Dakotan could be their own PR man for the state in a sense, and not fortify the belief that it's all ice and snow for 95 percent of the time
Everytime I tell people what the temp is at home (yes, I consider EGF home), I also tell them that we have very hot weather in the summer. I was talking to some teachers today and said that it's finally gotten to above 0, and now everyone is going out without coats. It was in the low 50's in Cali and they wear winter clothing.
I don't think the author has too much to brag about. Salt Lake City isn't special, and Utah is the WORST state I've ever driven through. NO SERVICES. And I've been all over the west/midwest.

Does anyone know why they don't allow checking? Is it a chest region issue? It's not as if there aren't small men players that could be hurt. Big people hit, small people duck.

I think this stat is amazing considering all the 5 on 3's we've faced. Does anyone know how many times we've been 2 men down?
I hope Brandt plays Friday. The last thing we need is for him to lose confidence like last year.

I sent the NCAA a note asking why they awarded the broadcasts to Victory Sports, and the below is the response that I got:
"If you don't have Victory Sports, ESPN Syndication would say call your local cable operator and request Victory Sports."
This is exactly what Victory wants and the NCAA/ESPN are doing their dirty work.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, we still have the Rocky Mountain and Detroit Fox Sports Net channels to give us the West Regionals. Anybody with the DirecTV Sports Package should be able to get almost every game I would think.
The NCAA letter makes it seem like those eastern stations will be the only ones carrying it. Though, upon reading the letter again there could be more. I wouldn't count on Rockey Mtn Sports. I think they've carried one DU game all year.

He is a very solid D-man, not one to jump up in the play, but a very good outlet passer. He is the guy that gets a ton of 'second' assists. At 16 most kids are about done growing, upwards anyway. I would expect Lee to put on some weight over the next few years. Are the Sioux going to recommend he plays in the USHL next year?
Anybody who wants to see Lee and Moorhead in GF, they play at EGF on Sat. Anybody know the MN high school rules about fighting? I guess my cousin was kicked out of last nights game, he better play on Sat.
If he was kicked out for fighting, I'm pretty sure he's suspended. If he is playing, what number is your cousin? I'll make sure to relay the info to my brother so that he can goat your cousin into some penalties.

You better check things out, because you may not be able to get either. I lived at the Mule Barn (on Dyke Ave) a block from the EERC and there was nothing that you could get over there. They hadn't laid any lines as of last spring.

Just shows you that it is about $$$$ these days. There's about 4 TV's in the MN/ND area that gets Victory Sports....looks like BW3's, DiMaggio's,etc.,will be packed for the NCAA regionals.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bars probably won't even have the games. I'm sure Victory will gobble up the UND game as well, and Victory isn't on the two dish networks. Now I'm screwed as well. I suppose UND won't even be able to webcast the game.

Odd that the cheer team is listed. They don't get letters anymore, and therefore, are really not a varsity sport. Though they would fall under the athletic department. For that matter, I believe the pep bands technically do as well.

Or you could just have the band play "In Heaven There Is No Beer" during every stoppage.
*sigh*
If only the crowd knew "the beer barrell polka," so the band wouldn't always have to play "in heaven there is no beer."
I agree with others, that it is how many do the chant as to whether it is affective. At the same time, it's good to have some students razz the opposing players. It should be done tastefully, but only a handful of students can hear what is being said anyways. It's not as if the players don't use foul language and trash talk.

. Finally, they recognize there is hockey being played west of Michigan. Students: we need to be on our "best" behavior. And you know what that means..... Thank goodness. I can finally watch a game again when I'm not in GF!

I've had the chance to meet Baker, Uncle Chuck and Clifford. Everyone has said how I feel on Baker and Chuck. We're forgetting how tough of a job Baker had in replacing Clifford. The man/legend still hangs out at UND. If I remember correct, he told me that he used to walk to the union almost every morning that he could when he was president just to talk to students. The problem with UND is that it doesn't know where it wants to go. It wants to be a research institution which doesn't bode well for undergrads. It wants to increase enrollment (then why increase ACT?) without making any upgrades to handle the enrollment. It just seems that we are going in too many directions.
Were there ever letters about the students at the old Ralph? The students are very tame this year. I always loved reading the Final Five programs where they interviewed the captains from every school. UND was always voted best rink and fans/atmospere. Except for the Gopher captains. Bet you can't guess who they voted for!

I have DSL and I could barely get the game tonight. Never been this bad for me. Too much buffering. Is there someone that we can email to let them know the internet radio isn't working?

And it's not only the sagging but also the locked in place. They don't take away shooting or passing lanes, and uncontested screened shots (PK'ers providing the screen) have a good chance of going in; Wisco couldn't have won as much as they have playing the PK the way they did last night. Will be interesting to see if they make changes tonight. Maybe they're just scared to death of the MN PP
Yeah, but Sagasaur (or whatever his name is) says they really get after the PP unit when they turn his back. All Minnesota did was throw the puck straight across the middle to the player camped at the right corner of the net. The UW players would never even touch the puck.

So I was watching Major League last night, and every time I heard Harry Doyle (Bob Euker) do the play by play, I thought Hennessey was in the booth. Almost makes you wonder if Tim doesn't have some of grandpa's cough syrup with him as well.
