  1. I think ANYTHING NDSU does will be looked upon as shady on this venue. It is what it is. My opinion is based on talking to people at NDSU and I am very comfortable with their plans. I think they just shortchanged themselves in regards to funding and what they want to do in the future. They could have waited the five years but have chosen not to. If they would have waited 3 more years to ask for the increase you guys would be up in arms again because thats when the current agreement with donors ends on FCOA as it stands now. The timing was bad but you cant let that stand in the way as the timing in the future wouldnt have been any better. IMO there is never a good time to ask for more. You just do and take your lumps because not everyone will be in agreement regardless of the reasons.
  2. "Hopefully for NDSU, UND is thinking about increasing it fees."
  3. Thank you for the clarification on those numbers. Its nice to see information posted without all of the angst.
  4. It was in response to Cratter saying you were going to increase fees. Wow we may need to ask for more to keep up with you guys.
  5. If you want to try and muddy the waters have at it. But its pretty irrelevant in this case. This is what is charged for student activity fees by schools . Not hard to understand.
  6. From Hammersmith on BV I picked the nearest DI schools to get a comparison. I took the student fee data from the annual USA Today report and divided it by the FTE enrollments of the universities(data from each schools' website). I think that's the most accurate way of figuring out how much the average student pays since most fees are based on credit hours. $252.40 - UND $248.09 - SDSU $208.20 - USD $169.67 - UNI $103.03 - UNO $88.57 - NDSU If you get more money-----oh my.
  7. You mean on par with the student activity fees you charge? Hey thats what we are trying to do!!!!!!! Now you understand!
  8. Problem? No. As I dont think thats where it will go. You can guess differently as that fits your narrative. As far as increased tickets prices Ive never been notified when they increased the prices. Plus I dont think they have ever made a public announcement. But IMO they could increase them 10-15 bucks and I would be fine with it as I think our tickets are pretty affordable.
  9. Why not. All you have to do is ear mark those funds.
  10. Im good with that.
  11. Dont know. My tickets have gone up every year. Dont know what they will be this year. My post was just an idea in regards to long term financing in which you were questioning.
  12. Ticket prices. 5.00 x 14000 = 70,000 x 6 games = 420,000. Thats just a start.
  13. Nothing to deflect. Its pretty straight forward IMO. If you want to extrapolate it to whatever conspiracy or scenario have at it. I find it amusing. I also find it amusing you resorted to that tact, which of course you had to because you dont have an answer. All you would of had to do was say you didnt know. Just like myself as I also have no idea where the rest of the money will come from at this juncture. I do know I sent in a donation for that exact purpose and was ear marked so. I know others who did as well. So Im not really concerned about where the extra will come from. There are many avenues where to raise the extra money. 350,000.00 is already taken care of. I wish you well in your fund raising efforts.
  14. Yeah ok. You go with that.
  15. Request the spread sheet with a FOI.
  16. We are? I am? Proof?
  17. We have brought new people on board with different visions and view points and ideas. From what I understand its had a pretty good effect on the depts thought process. As far as some of the other stuff Im just speculating just like you and the rest here. JUst like they mentioned travel for our teams. May be they want to send the outdoor Track and field teams to more away meet in the spring because of the weather? Womens softball and mens baseball? There are thousands of scenarios if you want to speculate. But you want to zero in on one thing. Hey have at it. Im an alum and its no big deal to me. Why is it a big deal to you? Oh I cant believe you played the illegal card. Wow.
  18. Since most schools are forward looking Im sure they see a need for funding future projects, infrastructure etc. FCOA was already taken care of for the first 3 years with private donations. It is a shame that peer institutions went to the well to often and to long and dont have an effective fund raising arm for athletics. You have used your students as a resource much more than we have. So why the angst when we do also?
  19. Did somebody say there was a 1.5 million hole in the budget?
  20. Yep. Nothing more than talking points at this juncture.

  22. I guess we could also look at the inequality in funding from the state. But thats another can of worms. Just because they are trying to raise student activity fees to the level of their peers how did this get extrapolated to FCOA?
  23. Very nice. Hope they can put it together.
  24. The Saints were in La Crosse WI for a while now they are in VA--- http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/saints/2014/07/04/new-orleans-saints-to-move-training-camp-to-the-greenbrier/12226821/
  25. I wouldnt consider it shady spending when he notified everyone he should have. Plus I dont understand the up roar over him not wanting to basically sit in the back seat of a VW Beetle on a trip to the other side of the earth. But I guess you gotta harp about something.
