it's true..."Blue Bloods" thought that they could just be....."blue bloods"...we are a blue blood in hockey but we don't have the "old money" that a lot of "blue bloods" have....once UNC, Duke, Kansas, ...Texas figure it out they will spend the money...that they have (does UND have the money?)

they do have a full travel day to get there..sleep in a hotel...play next eve....OR ...the top 2 seeds get those byes to the semi's but seeds 3 and 4 get to host a 2 game 4 team tourney on campus so those game could be friday/saturday to cut down on time on the road? incentives finishing in the top 4 i guess.... so ndsu would've hosted 4 teams and st thomas hosted 4 teams....oral and sdsu byes

that was women's....we're talking men's if a venue can't put on a good tv product then ban them from hosting these games until they invest in the arena(s) each host city can have a sponsor....maybe 5 smalls is greater than 1 big (sanford).... after showing that on campus sites MIGHT have higher attenance...now it's the extra costs of travel and sponsors...the goal posts keep moving

True...but if the Summit League waits too long to figure out that a 5 day tourney in Sioux Falls, SD isn't the greatest way to crowning a post season champ the commish might have the Presidents of Augie and SCSU on lines 2 and 3...just saying.

i'll take 2k in a 3k arena versus 4k in a 12 or 15k arena any day

The men drew 30k not 40k So you are using REGULAR season attendance figures (didn't look em up but how many of those games were on a Thursday eve?) instead of factoring in POST SEASON loser go home games on the weekend? So even if you halve my numbers across the board you would still get .....30K

probably a good question for schloss about NIL but it's here and we have a hard time coming up with corporate money already for our "other" sports.... we seem to be losing good recruits for other schools in the last couple of years so i do wonder if money is one of them?

me too but nothing about him really impressed me...seemed to play in slow motion but maybe coming off an injurty that is to be expected. will be interesting to see where he ends up?

yes...the NIL is a huuuuge problem for UND last year, this year, and going forward unless Kris is gonna setup a NIL Group...rydell's and the shake shack on 32nd can only give so much to UND athletics...now they have to pay the hockey players more than Michigan and Ohio State can/could? big problem for UND took a few years but big10 hockey is on the upswing...top 2 and 4 of top 11 playing in front of 500 people at a neutral site in pouskiskee is small time.... yes denver could win it this year but minny has sooooo much skill........but does humpty dumpty get them over the wall this year...i think he might.

but (hehe) with my numbers it looks like they could draw 40-60k just for the men's if it was moved on campus (especially if fargo, und, oral roberts and usd/sdsu used larger venues like the fargodome, rea, BOK arena or the denny... plus instead of one big sponsor (sanford)...each on campus site would have their own...fargo-gate city? gf-altru usd/sdsu-sanford vermillion-donny's burger shack? oral roberts-Williams Companies ....maybe that makes more money for the sumitt than just one big one (and of course smaller ones too) in sioux falls.

NIL changed everything....UND can't simply afford to say to a recruti.." hey we're big bad UND". It's not 1999 anymore... I would much rather have Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Penn State come to REA than St Cloud tech and omaha and cc...call me weird. Unlike the NCHC the Big10 quickly reversed course and brought their post season to campus instead of playing in front of 500 people in Joe Louis Arena.... Did you watch the Minny Michigan game....those two teams are light years ahead of us and alot of the other ncha teams....

that's the problem...summit loses oral roberts and or kc we get augie and scsu and then we have the ncc2.1 and then you gotta wonder what these last 20 years were for if that happens (hence my mean d2 reference bc there are a lot of und fans that still are pissed that Morningside doesn't come here anymore)

that would only happen if the top seed hosted a two game tourney...the big 10 model guarantees a host team in the semi's and finals...if minny lost to msu then the highest remaining seed between osu, mich, and mich state would've hosted the championship game and it would've been packed to the roof (especailly if it was michigan v michigan state at yost)
