  1. Sioux mama and Sioux CIA, I will be there with the fiance on Friday afternoon. I gave up my Thursday night tix to a die hard Gopher fan who also happens to be a good friend of mine, so see you guys on Friday afternoon! GO SIOUX!!!!!!!!
  2. So, MN vs SCSU on Thursday night UND vs Denver on Friday afternoon CC vs MN/SCSU on Friday night The Minny rule does not apply to the FInal 5 championship, so if Minny wins on Thursday night and loses to CC on Friday night, Minny will play the afternoon game on Saturday night
  3. I might add that this scenario makes the league very happy. MI vs MI state rivalry game potential in another Big 10 rink. 2 ECAC schools out in Albany, the ECAC hosted regional NH and BC in Massachusettes CC and Air Force in COlorado Springs
  4. current Bracketology (per me) Madison: Michigan vs Niagara Michigan State vs St Cloud Albany: Miami vs Harvard/Princeton/Colgate/Cornell (flipped with Air Force for attendance) Clarkson vs Denver Worcester: New Hampshire vs Mankato (flipped with Air Force to avoid first round intraconference match-up) MN vs BC Colorado Springs: CC vs Air Force UND vs Notre Dame Tough bracket for the Sioux going out to CC at home, out of the frying pan into the fire. We need to keep winning and get our own #1 seed to avoid CC!!!
  5. There were non-calls both ways, and that was clearly intentional. Let 'em decide it on the ice. In double OT in the playoffs it will be law of the jungle out there. I like a tightly called game on the obstruction, but not in double OT of the playoffs. Wooger kept commenting that Zacharias was goig down right away. It was a matter of time befor the Gophers won it. I've been saying for a long time that the Gophers are not a bad team. They took us to OT twice and beat us once on our rink and won 4 for sure and possibly 5 periods in that series up in GF. Lucia is an excellent hockey coach and MN players can always skate. Minny just didn't have the horses in the stable this year to contend for the league title. In a one and done, they can beat anyone and anyone can beat them, same can be said for almost every team still in the playoff picture.
  6. You never want to see a player get hurt like that. Speedy Recovery wishes from this Sioux Fan. PWR just got interesting too. Now we'd have to go to Colorado Springs...ughhhh
  7. Redwing, If we can finally agree after all this time, maybe there's hope for Washington DC and the middle east Let's not worry about next year yet. We've got a job to do. Well, twenty kids in Grand Forks have a job to do.
  8. I didn't notice Lapoint either game (which is good when you're talking about a freshman d-man in the playoffs). I did notice Marto flying out there on the wing on Friday night, didn't notice him last night. At this point, I do think that the two are interchangable. I think Lapoint has more potential to become a top pair defenseman, and I see Marto becoming a real role player either at forward or D. His speed is exceptional. At this point in the season it is not about preparing for the future. It is if you're not fighting for a Final five spot and for a #1 seed, but we are. In Hak I will trust for the line-up he puts together. I do think that we see Radke, as it is his last chance to play at REA. We will not win or lose based on Marto or Lapoint or whomever. We will win if every player brings his best tonight.
  9. It also needs to be said that this is probably the last home game ever for the Osh, Chorns and Big Joe. The guys with the NHL talent need to show it tonight. Even at less than 100% health(TJ is clearly hurting), they need to put in their best performances of the year. We aren't going to win many games when the third line is producing the offense. We will win all of our games if we get a performance like friday's from the top line, a performance like Saturday's from the third line, and the same performances out of lines 2 and 4 from both nights. The Osh had one powerplay chance last night that he scores on 99% of the time. If he scores there, the games over. FINISH!
  10. Thanks Bob! Let's get a win tonight 6-0. Pure dominance. I want to see guys bent over on the bench sucking air after EVERY shift.
  11. I'm on board with Trunk Monkey, and I don't think that makes one a poor hockey fan. Sure you might see some good hockey, but its not the same without the team you love. Heck, I live in the twin cities, and I probably won't go if the Sioux aren't there. CC, Denver, SCSU?? No interest in committing the time. Tonight is the biggest game of the season. Everyone in the locker room needs to look in the mirror and then look at the guys sitting next to them. Look at the Sioux crest, look at the fans. Walk through the hall of fame on the way down to the locker room, look at Taylor's dad, look at Phil Sykes and Jim Archibald, Dan Brennan, Coach Eades, Craig Ludwig, Mark Taylor, Doug Smail, Tony Hrkac, Bob Joyce, Ian Kidd, Eddie Belfour, look at Jeff Panzer, Jason Blake, Lee Goren, Mike Commodore, Karl Goehring. Look at those pictures and decide if you want to be remembered as great or remembered as a disappointment. You only get one chance at greatness. We screwed up last night, big time, let it sink in, hopefully you learned something about yourselves. You play like you played in the third period and Michigan or New Hampshire or CC will light you up for a half dozen goals. One chance. Every shift, every shot, every check, every foot race, remember that. This is the last home game ever for Rylan, Radke, JPL and Bina. You know they're going to give it and bring it. How about the rest of you. Who's gonna be a hero. Who's gonna be a winner. Let the seniors give a stick salute for a win tonight, not a last lap of disappointment. My lines for tonight: Oshie, Kozek, Duncan Vande, Kaip, Watkins Martens, Miller, Frattin Zajac, Radke, Malone Not hating on Lapoint, but Marto in, Lapoint out on D. It's tough to change what's working, but I would try to get Chorney out with the first forward line as much as possible. He clicks with Osh and Duncs better than any other forward/D chemistry we have.
  12. Anyone heard any post-game comments from Hak. He has to be STEAMED. As I said befor and will restate: If we were going to lose another game this year, this was the one to lose. That being said, we should not lose given the situation we were in. The trouble is, the guys know they are in the NCAAs no matter what. It will be in the back of their minds. Tomorrow night is the biggest game of the year, and if we can't get up for it, all the hype on this year's squad is just that...hype. I am not counting us out. Tomorrow is judgement day.
  13. Disappointed, but what do you do : ) Tech played desperate at the end of the game, didn't stop working, and got the bounces they needed to win the game. OT penalty was stupid. Game was lost at the end of regulation. We gave life to a team on the ropes. Sioux didn't play with the killer instinct;. Not going to beat a dead horse, but they have to play to kill, not to survive. Tomorrow night will tell me a lot about this team. If we were going to lose another game this year, this was the one to lose. I think we need Radke in the lineup. Not having him in takes a little fire out of the boys. The Osh is clearly playing at less than 100%. I remain hopeful that he get sto 100% by the NCAAs. First line was all but non-existent 5 on 5 tonight. We aren't going to win if they can't make it happen. Getting a goal from Frattin and one from Miller is great. We need those two to score. Tomorrow is the real deal. Win or go home. I don't want to have to scalp my Final 5 tix. Go Sioux!
  14. Didn't Louie and some other notable Gopher faithful make a fruitless effort to get Zach Parise to de-commit from UND and go to MN? I thought I remembered them getting in some trouble. They did the old end around of calling JP and setting up a tee time and then grilling the 17 year old ZPar while they were in Faribault or something of the sort. Technically it was within NCAA rules, as the notables are not on the U MN payroll, but it is still bush league.
  15. I thought we played some good hockey in St Cloud. Remember, we lost that game without the Oshie, who was serving his penance for pi$$ing. Losing Trupper and viva le revolucion hurts us tremendously. Chay is key to our title run, and trupper is probably the most skilled third line player in the country IMHO. Contrary to what fat boy says, we are beating teams with depth rather than with our top line. If sconny gets ousted, it boads well, and will probably result in us playing in MadTown's regional. It will be a tough weekend against SCSU. Their top line is as good as any, and they will kill us if we get into penalty trouble. They also have a ton on the line. Gotta love this time o year! GO SIOUX!!!
  16. Both variations in ice size cause you to make adjustments. The shorter length hurts a team like the Sioux, because we like to attack the offensive zone with speed. Timing is huge for making plays offensively, and the timing is all fouled up.
  17. MTU is 26th in RPI. A win tonight vs Denver makes them at least 25th. This adds 3-1-0 to our TUC
  18. Forgot about Dunc' pair vs BSU. All in all this year it seems like he's probably had a dozen pipes or miracle saves. Everyone gets a few, but it seems Duncs is getting everyone's share. Next open net, Hak has to put Jones out there. It should be Oshie's mission to get Jonesey an empty net goal.
  19. Trupp is a great later line weapon. He is one of those energy guys who just make things happen. It really hurts our depth to take him out of the lineup Let's all wish him a speedy recovery. Let's also hope this is our only bite from the injury bug from here on out.
  20. Trupp's a tough kid. I bet he's back for the Regionals...that's 4 weeks. Good win for a game where we had zero puck luck, tUMD was playing really fired up, and we lost the anchor of our third line. Geez is Duncs snake bit right now or what??? I'd like to see him finally get rewarded in oh, i don't know the Frozen Four!!!
  21. Tech has fallen off being a TUC, and Northeastern is also fading fast. Those things hurt us...but its true, all we can do is take care of ourselves. We are all but secured a place in the dance right now. We just have to figure out if we're going with the prom queen or with our sister
  22. You got it!
  23. Too bad its not St. Patty's this year! I don't have a wig or anything like that, but I will be sporting a jersey. I've been to a couple Mardi Gras in the Big Easy, and while I agree that the F5 is a blast, it isn't quite Mardi Gras Runnin' with, tUMD is my second fav team, sorry to knock you out of the NCAA picture this weekend
  24. See you in St Paul!
  25. Sioux-CIA, you won't believe this...I've got 119 row 21, seats 9 and 10!!! That's a nice, green row! I'll buy you a beer!
