  1. Don't they support them by paying into the Champions Club? Off topic, I know, but take the cash and run to #1.
  2. To a point, yes. Are you telling me that the hockey only people wouldn't cheer the football team in the playoffs or Basketball in the big dance? I hate the biSon (more so their fans), but at the end of the day, it is good for the state of ND.
  3. This. I guess I am naïve, because I didn't realize there was such a Hockey/all other sports divide. I am a hockey fan but I guess I didn't realize there were people who supported the hockey team and not the others. That's a shame.
  4. Al Carlson used this issue as a means to "reign in" the SBoHE. It would have come on any issue he could have used to keep them under control of the legislature. There was more to this but my memory is totally failing me.
  5. Anyone have the Video of Brock getting hit with the Stick?
  6. Thank you to GGF and surround areas for show of support and help so many of the Fargo Officers can be at the funeral today. Very touching to see officers near and as far and Canada and IN showing support. Very powerful service for those who watched.
  7. It is also a very high quality print piece with free circulation and a lot of very good content, from what I have heard. Really off of their print materials are very well done, home, biSon sports stuff, Fargo happenings, etc. As well as available for PDF email subscription. Spotlight Media
  8. Bison Illustrated is a product of Spotlight Media in Fargo. It's a for profit magazine. Owned and operated by Mike Dragosivich(sp?), former Punter. Resouces=Revenue and right now biSon crap is easy to market.
  9. In addition to your points, Outdoor ice is flooded with whatever temp water is in the truck or at the hose point. Indoor uses hot water to bond the ice together and prevent flaking in between flood layers. Zambonis used indoors also use a blade to scrape and smooth the ice as well as provide ice shavings at the flood point to fill in deep gouges in the surface. If they just flood the rink with a hose that is shot into the air vs. a wand that lays water onto the ice it can make a huge difference as well. Indoor ice surface temps are dropped to -4-8 below zero for flooding(if you are close to the ice at the Ralph they kick on the cooling system with 3-5 minutes left in the period to prep and you can feel the air cool), outdoor you don't have that control. I could go on but...making good ice is a lot of fun.
  10. It does seem to be a slow process. I know the DU plates took forever to get approved and I heard Pheasants Forever dropped it because of the effort needed. You would think it a great revenue source if as pointed out above they are $100 or so extra. I would pay that for so awesome Fn Hawks plates. I would even pay it for some marginal ones since I live in Fargo and can't go 2 blocks without seeing a biSon plate.
  11. Dumb Question: Since there is a buffalo on the plate, you think they couldn't have waited a year to see if the UND Mascot could have been used as well? A Buffalo in one corner and now a Hawk flying in the other? I know that other state schools could argue for presence but I don't think they can argue the two largest. UND doesn't even get the special plate BiSon fans get to order. I guess this post could have gone under the "what the nickname situation has cost/delayed us" column as well.
  12. Frattin is part of the Stamkos prep for Toronto. There is always extra involved to let both sides feel even. Stamkos is open about wanting to get back to Toronto and guys like him aren't available often so Toronto is trying to accommodate. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/14746467/nhl-does-dion-phaneuf-trade-help-toronto-maple-leafs-land-steven-stamkos You could say they value him as much as a second round pick. AND they wanted him back toward the end of the season. He must be doing a couple things right. Although I concede he is not the same since injury #2.
  13. A terrible story. Thoughts go out to Off. Moser's family and Co Workers. Not to get off topic, but this was not far from my home, we don't have a land line but my wife and I both have signed up our phones for Code Red. How does that work that we didn't get the call in North Fargo? Is it that geographically specific? We get all the weather/Flood Alerts. Just wondering.
  14. Check my posting history, when I post my own, its for $50 a seat. I got these on craigslist and thought I would try and UND fans first crack at them before I have to resell on other sites.
  15. 2 tickets for sale row C lower bowl Friday 2/19 for UND v UMD. $125 Each. 701-261-8985 Call or Txt
  16. Seems like Minny came out fast and that would intimidate Mankato. When Kato scored first the wind was out of their sails.
  17. Phoenix(Bird) and all of the work they have done in Bird Logos, really reminds me of how unoriginal this is. Just saying, not wanting to start a debate.
  18. I am not arguing they are not thin. I am saying the programs don't benefit most of those who are suckered into them. They are tools for CC membership. I do have a question for you, I live in Fargo and if I shop at Hornbacher's, if I spend less than $50 I get $.04/gal coupon at Holiday, >$50=.08, $100=.12/gal. Where is that $ coming from? 2 stores have the fuel in the parking lot to use, but the store I am at does not. Not sure if the GF Hornbacher's does this as well.
  19. For those of us who travel for a living, those programs are a hard earned perk. I use a hotel program card for everything and my company reimburses me. That is free hotel rooms for my family when we go anywhere, cash cards if I so choose, or a warm weather vacation for my wife who tolerates me being gone. I agree for most people they make no sense but for those who use them enough to capitalize, they are awesome. There is no need for someone who flies once a year to have a Frequent Flier#(hence the name) other than to get them onto a credit card program, sold on the idea of free airfare after years of spending, when often times, the miles expire.
  20. I am a huge Fan of Mango's. I would take that over Romo's. I have been meaning to get to Acapulco.
  21. I know this is "In GF" but I had to post... After reading your praise, My wife and I just tried Romo's over lunch. (its very close to home) Very good. Huge portions, fresh ingredients, not high on the chips but all in all, absolutely going to return. This makes my Fargo burrito list as follows. 1 Qdoba 2. Romos 3 Moes 4 Chipotle 5 Pancheros ( never been but has to be better then Sweeto) 6 Sweeto
  22. Sec 115 Row C 2 tickets. $100 for the pair. Call or TXT 701-261-8985 Tickets are in Fargo but can arrange Grand Forks pickup if needed.
  23. I agree that people wouldn't want to apply for fear at their current employer. That said, The Boise State, FGCU, or candidates that come from Schools that have done some of the growth/notoriety I want at UND are attractive. It's naïve, I know, but they have been there seen the journey and may know how to facilitate, capitalize on, and keep it rolling.
