Jake is a proven goalie. Anyone who saw him play the at the excel and blames him for the loss has got to be joking, talk about major defensive breakdowns. The guy is awesome, the biggest compliment I can give him is that I would call him a friend. If someone is going to provide that "spark" or pull off a miracle it will be Jake. For whatever reason he hasn't played much this year, even before the injury, which was not a stupid mistake.

I'm not making any negative comments about his accident nor his decision to ride a snowmobile but the truth is, he's the third goalie on a team with two pretty good goalies and I see no reason to bring him in to end the year.
He is not the magic elixir that will end the Sioux skid.
In my humble opinion.

I was told Laducer stated at the bar following the Minot state title he said, " As long as I'am an official a west team will never win another state title" . Is Laducer going this weekend. If so, the game he does the west team will lose.

Anybody who questions Jake Brandt's ability to play big in a big game obviously missed the Final Five against Duluth two years ago. Or the regional game against Ferris State the same year, when he was the only reason that game didn't become an absolute blowout. Or the regular season game at Mariucci last year, in which he was our best player. Or the regular season series at Duluth last season, when he was easily UND's best player in a series the Sioux had to have in order to have any hopes winning a league title.

I don't question his playing ability, I just question his character. Especially for making such a stupid decision to snowmobile during the christmas break and wreck and break his collar bone. He probably won't see action even when his is healthy for that decision alone.

Yes it is because of the NDHS tourney...they're playing the consolation championship at 11 -- break for the Sioux game at 3 then the state championship at 7'ish or so....the REA cleanup crew will be busy and unable to attend to (justified!) bitching about dataflix...sorry...

I see on the schedule they are playing the consolation game at 11:00 in the olympic rink and the 3rd place game in the main arena at 11:30.

The theme I have been hearing from various people across the EDC is that we need a better system for refs. It is a tough job and you take abuse but we need more quality young people from all over giving back to the game in that way. Maybe the North Dakota High School Activities Association needs to see some sort of proposal for ref teams in Regional and State competiton.

I couldn't agree with you more ND Pride. A friend of mine and I attended almost every game and we both agreed that the officiating was below average. I think just about every team could come up with some quick examples of where they thought the refs had blown a call. I think the problem not only lies with some bad refs, but with the quick responses of individuals saying that the refs were biased and they were favoring one team or another. This never helps the situation and only causes people to get angry at each other, instead of addressing the problems at hand. I just think that there are some really bad officials.

Wow, just relax a bit. I've always appreciated your posts on this site, just step back and take a breath. BTW.... You are not going to be the most popular person on here with that signature line. I could care less about Duluth having more Hobey Baker's than UND, its the championships that count the most.

That is not what I'm saying. South has had a great year so far, I never said they didn't. You are a little defensive about that for some reason. I'm glad you are already judging what the future schools will look like already, because of their youth programs, thanks for scouting them for me.

People can come on to this message board and voice their opinions, that is the beauty of this place. I love reading everyone's feelings about certain topics. Even though I might disagree with some of the posts, a lot of them can be quite entertaining.
