  1. Absolutely not. He skated all the way down from near the blue line and cross checked a CC player up high well after the whistle. At the time I saw it, I thought, "How did he get away with that?"

Well, he didn't. It was a good call.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but it is a lot easier to question penalty calls when you are at the game in person. Sometimes the camera angles and replays don't show the play in question as well as you would see it in person. That is why it is tough for me to judge a lot of the penalties, since I only watched them on tv.

  2. I guess if anyone killed rock n roll I would give it to crappy glam rock bands like Kiss and Motley Crue.  People got sick of guys dressed up as $2 hookers playing crap music.

I will agree with MTV being complete crap, but Nirvana was far from killing rock music.  They just made a new style of it popular.  Nirvana is on the same level as Kiss et al talent wise, but Cobain was a much better songwriter - or at least kids in the 90's could related better to his lyrics.

I couldn't agree with you more.

  3. Are you sure you aren't looking at the November series dates at the REA. Your link shows only Friday night for this weekend.

It has been changed on the website since I posted that link this morning. And I've seen they have now posted the correct starting time of the game, they had that wrong also earlier today.

  4. In general it seemed to be good business, but maybe the two screens was a problem.  Now there will be 4 screens, probably with the same amount of seats as the old cheap theater.  Those were huge theaters.

Over the last 8 years or so, there have been a few times when I have went to movies and one of the Carmike 10 theaters had a theater with no heat in the winter.  I am sure that has happened to other places, but it seems like it might be more of a problem at that location.  Is it a poor building, poor heating system, something else, or normal?

After reading all of your posts on this subject, I definitely have to laugh out loud. Competition in this market is definitely a well needed thing. If the people of Grand Forks and outlying areas can't support all of the screens, then only the strong will survive. Columbia 4 is a dump and something needed to be done. It was hard to charge people 7.50 to watch a new release movie in that place. With the push for stadium seat theaters, it was sad that it took the announcement of two new movie places in Grand Forks to force the already existing Carmike 10 to renovate some of their existing movie theaters into stadium style seating. It makes you wonder how long it would have taken Carmike 10 to do this, if competition wouldn't have moved into this market.

  5. Oh, and I didn't know that the Friday game would be on television when I purchased the tickets a few weeks ago, since only home games are broadcast.

Really, they didn't broadcast the away games at Duluth earlier in the season? Was I dreaming that?
