  1. I thought I read he projects as a top 60 pick, but that could be way off too. Regardless, sounds like a pretty solid player.
  2. PL with their first state tourney appearance behind 4 goals from Alex Bump. I think he has committed to Vermont, but did we look at the kid at all? Seem like a legit prospect.
  3. My mistake, I was mixing up the two. Any by donors, yes I meant the family. There are multiple people there. But yes, my mistake, I'll remove that. Still not impressed with the guy though.
  4. Wasn't he the one the had issues with the Engelstad family? Or was that Kennedy?
  5. Disappointing. It seems like this is a position that has been criticized for quite a while at UND. Now I'm glad that we maintain our success as a hockey powerhouse. I love hockey, and I'm a big time fan! I wouldn't want to see us take a step back there. But this school needs to put some more emphasis on football, and basketball too. I get that money makes a huge difference here, and not just who the AD, but there is definitely a correlation here. I just haven't been impressed.
  6. I didn't run all pairwise scenarios, but UND should be able to jump Denver and possible the Gophers with a sweep this weekend and a DU split.
  7. Good taste would be leaving this one alone. WASHEd up! Would be as far as I would go here.
  8. Yeah, didn't mean to blame Miller. I saw him say yesterday that he was working on it. Just surprise it was out there yet. And yeah, AD has been nothing but a disappointment. How is this the same guy that worked with Eastern Washington? Safe to assume he walked into a well oiled machine and let it run.
  9. Seems ridiculous that this isn't out there yet. Would really like to see what some of these guy's weights are at. I would have thought Miller would have been asking about this leading up to camp, but I guess not. Anyone have any information on practice yesterday? I'd assume it was an open practice. Probably pretty quiet for a first day, but it would be nice to see something on it. Obviously a Spring season was never going to be the normal thing, and football belongs in the fall, but I'll admit, it would be pretty fun to be watching some football right about now. A few wishes for this year: -Consistent QB Play: Not just completion percentage, but actually throwing the ball more than 5 yards and occasionally stretching the field. This is still Tommy's team, though I really liked the QV wrinkle when it was executed will (MO. St) BUT I'm very intrigued to see if Feeney can push for playing time. Hoping the coaches consider this to be a wide open competition and go with whoever proves themselves. -Consistent and Competent Play calling: Don't need to elaborate on this too much. Coaches made some really boneheaded calls last year that cost us a win over NDSU, a few other wins, and ultimately the playoffs. Bubba and Danny absolutely need to figure this stuff out heading into the season. -Redzone: The redzone turnovers just can't happen this year, certainly not to the extent they happened in the Fall. -Kicking: Have to be more reliable with field goals. Such a bummer that young kicker decommitted to go to K State. That could have been huge for us. Those are the big ones for me, as they directly contributed to missed scoring and losing us close games. Though there are always other areas: -Defense: Great at making adjustments, but needs to be able to make a stop on the first drive of the game. -RB: Not so much an area of improvement, just excited to see how we backfill Otis. Smith certainly showed what he can do, Ziebarth showed some flashes, and I'm really hoping Mitchell can make a big impact after having such bad luck with the injury last year. -TE: USE THEM!
  10. As long as Bobby has a good weekend , right?
  11. I don’t either, just wondering if that was the only clinching scenario
  12. So we can clinch the Penrose this weekend right? But would need to sweep Western and see Denver get swept? Or is there a different combo of W/L/T that would do it? A tall order, but would be great to see. Regardless of clinching, a sweep of Western would be huge! Glad to see the boys playing with more consistency! This has looked like an actual team lately, whereas earlier in the season there just didn't seem to be much chemistry. Could be a fun stretch to end the season!
  13. So would every other college hockey fan outside of Ann Arbor.
  14. I would also think he is done here. Just too bad for a kid to let all that potential play out this way.
  15. Anyone hear anything on Otis? Obviously hasn’t landed anywhere to the caliber he wanted. What are his options at this point? Drop down to D2? Walk on at a low end FBS and pay his own way? Would UND ever welcome him back (I’d think he burned to many bridges)?
  16. Wish I could watch tomorrow, but I'll be enjoying my evening with two young ladies at the local father daughter dance. Have fun watching and Go Sioux! Hoping for a win and set up nicely for next weekend when I can hopefully watch again amidst a Mite tourney!
  17. That doesn't seem correct. Quinn is from out East, that automatically makes him better at hockey/coaching/etc. ..... right?
  18. Does anyone foresee Colten St. Clair eventually coaching in this program? I would have to think if Berry were to leave at any given point, Dane Jackson would get his shot as head coach, but that could open the door for St. Clair as an assistant. Or maybe St. Clair gets his experience through working his way up into some sort of NHL capacity first. He seems to be the UND guy making the most of a coaching career as of recent. Thoughts on St. Clair or any other potential future candidates?
  19. Any chance we see any late additions or FBS dropdowns?
  20. What about that Montrell Wilson kid that was mentioned a few days ago? Did he actually sign, or are we still waiting?
  21. Wow, thanks for your rude and condescending post. I'm not missing the point at all. I completely acknowledged that to be competitive we need a higher salary. I was in no way insinuating that a program should be paying their players poor wages. My post was in response to someone asking what the poverty level was in Grand Forks and stating that the starting wage at McDonalds in Williston is $36k. My only point was that there is often a tendency to assume that a modest wage can't support a decent living. It can, if people are smart. Obviously if you want to compete as a football program, we need to pay our coaches more than we are. That has been well documented here; but again, that isn't specifically what I was referring to. So once again, thanks for jumping in to be a jerk and completely take my post out of context.
  22. Baseball probably would have won 3 or 4 College World Series Championships by now too.
  23. Right, I was referring more to $50k for a coaching job in Grand Forks as very livable.
  24. 12 years ago I took my first corporate job at the exciting salary of $29k in Fargo. Married, with no kids at the time, we were able to live comfortable and start saving for our future house and family. To be competitive, we should be able to offer a higher salary, but as to whether or not a $50k salary is enough to live on, it absolutely is if you are smart with it. If you're single and can't live on $50k, you need to reevaluate your expenses. If you're married, then you likely have a second income to factor in.
  25. That's what I was saying. The play has been bi-polar, not the fans. I'm not down on Berry necessarily, but I always like Hak. He just seemed to get more out of his players. Its hard to compare because for me it is more about the intangibles, the things that don't show up on a stat sheet.
