  1. We welcome you and your son to UND! Great place, great people and definitely a program that is moving in the right directions. Looking forward to seeing your boy play.
  2. Wentz may be starting, but I would expect to see a decent dose of Stick as well. Both QBs are certainly capable, and Wentz is stud. Hopefully it is a good game tomorrow.
  3. shhh, stop spreading lies.
  4. I can confirm that there is a rumor out there about another rumor, which may turn out not to be just a rumor at all.
  5. Well, hopefully he is a good coach that is looking out for the best interest of the player, over begrudging an old rival.
  6. Don't forget Vashon Tucker. Not sure how he progressed this year, but I believe he had several FBS offers. Man am I excited for this program, and next season already. I was joking with my buddy yesterday, who is a bison fan, about how it must be really nice to still be watching football rather than recruiting. We'll get there.
  7. Per SFI ... New commit from Alabama, Torrey Hunt DB/WR http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2797492/torrey-hunt
  8. Can we name the Hawk mascot Sue? Have it wearing a Nodak t-shirt? AND Have a Teddy Roosevelt type mustache? ..... maybe even have it carrying a Flickertail and gazing at the North Star or a Sundog?
  9. Is there any information out there, or potential rumors at FBS dropdowns that we might see this spring? Also though I read something from SFI about expecting to bring in a scholarship QB.
  10. Definitely can't overlook anyone in hockey. I'm sure Berry will have these guys ready, and hopefully they aren't too sluggish coming out of the holidays. My brother saw these guys play in the Mankato a few weeks back, and it sounds like their goalie played pretty solid. UND needs get a few early on Friday. The longer you let a team like this keep it close, the more their confidence builds. Don't let them feel like they have a chance to win.

    2016 Season

In addition to the coaching situation, I'd like to get some opinions on who people expect to be big contributors next year as Redshirt Freshman. Carl Engwall - Lakeville kid. Lots of positive things said after he was recruited, not sure how he looked last season though. Mason Bennett - Sounded like he was hurt most of last season. Anyone know what type of injury? I remember this being a pretty good recruit out of Canada. Tim Dulin - I've only hear good things. Sounds like he has put in a lot of hard work and added some weight. Hopefully a go to guy for Studs. Keelan Poole - Had't heard much about Keelan last year. I feel like this was a pretty good recruit to land, but I don't remember too many details. Vashon Tucker - Didn't hear to much about him last year, but I remember that this was a nice recruit to land. Had some FBS offers. Jade Lawrence - Heard he was a really good at Moorhead. Do we expect him to play much next season, or more so in a year or two. Austin Gordon - Heard a lot of positive things about this kid from the past year. With a deep RB group, its hard to say how much he will see the field, so he'll have to make the most of limited time. I'm sure if he impresses the coaches, they will find a way to get him in the mix. Also, with Colton Boas gone, who is projected to play Center?

    2016 Season

I agree Dale Lennon is highly unlikely, but you also have to look at possible ulterior motives. I know his name has been thrown around as a potential future AD. Maybe taking a job back here would just be a step in that direction. Tough to know what the guys is thinking he wants to do. He could take a HC job at a lower level. Take a year off, and then see what jobs are open. Bottom line is the guy has some flexibility as to what he can do going forward. If It were Dale, I would be extremely pleased. Regardless of who they do hire, it sounds like they will get someone with quite a bit of experience. Add that into the mix with some of our current young players and our incoming recruits, and we should continue to see some nice improvement.
  13. I think you need to start Cam in the first game, given his success, and his current streak. Depending on what happens in the first game you either continue riding Cam's hot streak, or if he stumbles then you see what you have with Tomek. I'm sure we will see a heavy dose of Tomek next week against the U-18 team. Pretty crazy that goal-tending was probably our biggest question mark coming into this season, and looks to be one of our biggest strengths. I don't think anyone expected Cam to be this good, especially after the small glimpse we saw last year. Certainly didn't expect to see Hyrinkiw step in and play to the caliber that he did. And we havn't even seen Tomek yet, who many projected to be a day 1 starter, if not for injury. At the end of the season, we may need to look back to Hyrinkiw for saving the season. I know he had a ton of help from the rest of the team, but for a third stringer to step into a situation where UND could have easily gone into a tailspin; thats pretty awesome.

    2016 Season

I wouldn't expect there style to change. Their QB for next season also started for them all of last season in place of Johnson. They also have some really good receivers returning. Front seven will need to get to the QB fast, and Santiago will need to have a nice game. They showed they are very susceptible to the run against Georgia Southern.
  15. Well, I don't like to brag
  16. I heard from a reliable source that Will Ratelle won't be on the team next year
  17. Pretty much the argument a lot of NDSU fans were giving about scheduling UND. Given where the two programs were at the time the game was scheduled. I agree, I would rather see us play a tougher non-conference opponent, but we have seen our fair share of those as well. Providence last year, BC next year.
  18. Good to know. I didn't see the original comment. Certainly not trying approve of everything that NDSU does, just defending my original statement, that I somewhat understand it. As for the Weber, I've heard mixed things on that as well. Not that any of it matters much.
  19. Ok, lets clear up a few things here. First of all, there have been some comments on here that kind of lump all NDSU fans into one group. There are plenty of Bison fans that would like to see this rivalry played every year, regardless of where it is played. Then there are plenty of fans, who think their team is God's gift to football. Yes, they played Weber, and yes, I said there were exceptions to the scheduling of difficult teams. But given where the programs have been over recent years, there isn't a ton for NDSU to gain from putting that on the schedule. Revenue, yes; and I'm not saying that they're reasons were great, but it is certainly understandable. Was there bitterness between the schools ... of course, and I think Brad's article this past fall pointed out that there was plenty of blame to go around. Comparing basketball to football is a little ridiculous given the number of games that are played. Any to be fair that is a game that has been scheduled back and forth. I guess what I was saying, it back in the day we could have scheduled NDSU; but we didn't have to, so we didn't. Now, NDSU does not have to schedule UND, so they haven't (at least not on a regular basis. We scheduled UNI back then ..... they schedule Weber and Incarnate Word now. Ultimately, trying to place 100% of the blame on NDSU is about as ignorant as trying to place 100% of the blame on UND.
  20. I don't really blame NDSU for not scheduling a home and home, even if their schedule would have allowed it. There was no real reason or need for them to do so. Ultimately, UND could have prevented the rivalry from ever ending, but chose not too. Now NDSU is in a position where playing UND (at least the UND team that we have had over the past several seasons) is of no benefit to them. They are going to try to schedule the perennial powers (yes there are exceptions ex. Incarnate Word) Bottom line, UND wanted to restart the rivalry and was in no position to make many demands. I'm glad that we took the game package that was offered because it opened the door. Throw into the mix that UND is (and hopefully continues) to improve, and hopefully a playoff meeting, and maybe this rivalry will get back on track in a few years. If UND can put themselves into a perennial power position, then maybe we can start scheduling home and homes, and even makes them more frequent.
  21. Fighting Hawk Apparel
  22. Fine Fine Fine .... I'll try to be positive about this new nickname thing .... Guy puts a gun to my head and says, "Put on a Fighting Hawk shirt or a Gopher hockey jersey" ..... I guess I'll bite the bullet and put on the Fighting Hawk shirt. Will that appease some of you
  23. It just seem fake when you see it. Like it really is some cruel joke. Oh well, glad I still have my Sioux gear. I hope the new logo is legit and not just something generic. Then again, I was hoping the new nickname was going to be something legit and not just something generic.

    2016 Season

This is random, but I went over the Bowling Green forum, and they said most of their games are on ESPN3, so there is a good chance (no guarantee) that the UND/BGSU game can be viewed next fall (ahem, your move Wyoming).
