  1. Interesting ... looks like we had an offer to this kid at one time, and now we could see him as early as next season at the Alerus. http://herosports.com/news/weber-state-already-has-one-of-fcs-best-qb-recruits-on-campus
  2. Too bad, about as frustrating as when Chappell left. Probably more frustrating, as this kids had legitimate NFL potential. Trying not to judge, as this could be for any number of reasons; but definitely too bad.
  3. Could not agree more, and Muss did have some really good skill players. Can't totally bash on him. He had probably the best group of FCS wide receivers you could ask for in Hardin, Jackson and Golladay. There was so much potential if we could have held onto Jackson and Golladay, though Jackson seemed to have some work ethic issues. That being said, I agree that it all starts in building up the line. I think that is why NDSU was so successful as well. They really built up their lineman, and it worked well. All in all, I think Bubba and Co have done a great job. They seem very balanced in their recruiting.
  4. I'll be the first to admit I didn't follow recruiting nearly as closely when Muss was in charge, and while he certainly found some great kids, I don't think the talent was even close to as evenly spread as what Bubba and Co is putting on the field. I'm not sure if it is what he is doing, or the fact that I am just following closer, but whether it is during a game week, or waiting for more recruiting information, I am constantly excited to see what this team is doing. I know you don't want to always analyze a player, based on who else is recruiting him. I think Bubba made that abundantly clear this past season; and proved why with a guy like Santiago. Though, it is nice to see that some of the players you are getting, are also getting big interest from other programs. Especially regional programs, because it means we are getting a little more respect, and getting guys that would have otherwise gone to a SDSU or a USD or sometimes even an NDSU. Pretty awesome to see. Just pulled this off the Wiki, but I think it definitely speaks to the improvement of the program to start winning some, not all, of the recruiting battles. 5. I wonder if the staff would ever be creative to use a guy like this primarily on defense, but also work him into a few wildcat type scenarios. Put him out there as a guy that could run or pass. I still like Keaton as our primary guy. Just wonder if they would ever get creative like that. Maybe we have enough speed threats with Santiago, Iwarri and Studs, that we don't need to get too creative.
  6. Never saw a report for it, or anything by his twitter. Pretty strange to have a kids say he committed then have another source say he committed to SDSU, with no real confirmation of where he is actually going.
  7. I believe Randolph was originally coming in as a safety and Chinn was going to be a CB, but I could be wrong. Do we think that Randolph could be a dual role there? Maybe they expected the same from Chinn. Regardless, really happy to see him join UND. Now lets get Blount on campus.
  8. So who all is slated to come in next year?
  9. I wonder if Dre Randolph has another visit coming up this weekend. One would have though that receiving an offer from UND, then making a visit, then de-committing from Army, would have meant a commitment to UND would soon follow. So maybe he still has another visit in the mix, not sure what his other offers were. Obviously, the team would love to have Grady back and that would be a win in itself, but if they could somehow keep Cloyd, land Randolph, and potential get a QB like Blount, I would be ecstatic about this new class.
  10. I'll answer my own question. Looks like Bubba and Freud both just started following Blount on twitter. Would be cool if they could get him on campus this weekend.
  11. Does anyone know if the coaches are looking at Conor Blount? Any chance we get him on campus for a visit?
  12. agreed, hope the coaches see that. Not sure what our situation is with scholarships though.
  13. Have to agree with Anze, that does seem bad ... how does a team give up 8 goals to Western
  14. Agreed, I don't want them to offer a scholly QB just to offer one, but I think this kid looks really solid on tape, and seems to fit the mold of what Bubba saw in Studs. Hope they take a good hard looks. Also really liked #85 that Blount was throwing to in his Jr. tape reel. Unfortunately, it looks like he went to NIU last year. Blount, Dre, and keeping Cloyd and I don't think you could ask for much more in this recruiting class. It looks pretty solid.
  15. Hopefully it reaffirms his commitment. Add Dre Randolph and keep Cloyd and this class will look pretty solid. Wish we could have kept Chinn though.
  16. No doubt they should have won both of those games, but the margin then won by was not expected, especially NAU. Not like UND has been a powerhouse lately, can't blame fans for liking something positive, especially with how young this team is. Quite a bit to look forward to with crandall, seales, etc.
  17. Rocco probably cold have used another year of college.
  18. I assume they will bring him to the hockey game too
  19. Happy to see that Cloyd still appears committed to UND. Hopefully that sticks. Seem like someone put out some bad info on the switch.
  20. Is Dre visiting today them? Would love to snag that kid away from Army. Markert is definitely a little slow, but you can work on speed. Can't teach size.
  21. Actually he's already had chances to shine, and done quite well. Let's not jump off the cliff here.
