  1. Weber can clearly put up some points, but there D has seemed to allow more than earlier this year as well. I know everyone is concerned about the defense (I am as well), but I don't think it can get much worse than this past weekend (knock on wood). I have to believe we will force a few more punts or maybe a turnover or two). Its a longer trip, but its not the Fargo Dome.

I do believe Tommy and company will put some points on the board, and get back to controlling the clock and winning TOP. If we can get back to those long grinding drives, wear out their D and keep our D off the field we will have a good shot.

Last weekend was a huge disappointment. Not so much losing to the Bison in Fargo, but seeing just how unprepared this team was. It was all downhill from the coin toss. I have to believe these guys don't want to be done playing yet, and despite some really disappointing parts, it has been a good season. Danny definitely needs to get a little more creative this week. I've said it before, but it is like the coaches get scared when they play NDSU and they change their whole process. Maybe they think it won't work against the better teams, but neither does switching up your whole philosophy for a week. UND needs to play their game. Looking for a big week out of Hoos and hoping the O-Line get make some room.

    Can't wait for Saturday!

Any potential that the MVFC can remove NDSUs AD from the position on the FCS selection committee?  I think it's a multiple year assignment and not looking forward to more of this.

To be fair, there were opportunities for the conference to stand out a bit more, as they have done in the past. To me, there were some missed non-conference opportunities that needed to be won. Do that, and it makes the middle of the pack MVFC teams look much stronger; then their only losses are from beating up on each other.

UND needed to step up and beat a bad Nebraska team. That would have been huge for UND and the MVFC.

UNI needed to not get complete manhandled by Air Force and lose to Sac St.

    USD losing to MT

ISU-Blue also lost to MT (Making MT and the BSC look a little better)

SIU had some rough non-conf games

NDSU beat them badly because their star qb got injured. Their entire offense was built around him and the backup didn’t have the same skill set.

Committee should have taken that into account and just awarded the championship to the Bobcats.

Again, just going on this year, they lost to a power 5 FBS school and to the #1 FCS seed by 2 points. What else could they have done to improve their seed. If they had scored 3 more points against SDSU they would be. #1 seed. I know UND fans are all about if 5 or 6 plays in 3 or 4 games had gone differently we would be 10-1 or undefeated. Literally if one play had gone differently (the Payton interception when they were driving to go up 4 scores in the SDSU game) NDSU would be looking at a #1 seed.

You're not wrong that they couldn't have done much more. A win over SDSU, and NDSU likely has the number 1 seed, but in a season where there is such slim margin for error, I personally feel NDSU should have been the 4 and Mt State the 3, but in breaking it down there isn't a huge separation.  NDSU has a second loss, but it was to SDSU. Bobcats haven't had to face a team quite to that level, so who knows. They did beat Weber which is a strong win, but it would have been nice to see them play Sac St.

The harder argument for me (using your logic) is Sac St or SDSU. I personally think SDSU is probably the better team (though that might be because I haven't watched any Sac St.), but given Sac State's undefeated season with an FBS beat down, what more can they do to earn the #1,

I believe there's a bid for each round, all submitted already.  I know there's a minimum hosting requirement.

Got it, looks like the last time it happened was 2016 when Youngstown beat (3)Jacksonville St and Wofford beat (6)The Citadel. Must be a pretty rare occurrence for that to happen but what a reward if you go claw your way back with two road playoff wins to then get a home game that you never expected.

This was the year Youngstown made it to the championship game with a win over EWU in the semis.

  6. Quick question on the playoff format.

What would happen if UND were to beat Weber and Mont St and Gardner Webb were to pull two upsets to meet in the quarterfinals?

How does the FCS determine where that game would be played if both seeded teams were to get knocked out of the bracket? I know this is a highly improbable scenario, just curious what the process is in that scenario.

    If needed.....

    Kick. It. Out. Of. Bounds.

If you can't stick it in the endzone for a touch back why even mess around?

Does anyone know if Brady is battling an injury or something? He didn't seem to have any issues at the beginning of the season.

To Buckner's defense, isn't learning the safety position at UND pretty challenging? He's been playing more and better as the season goes on as he's learning. I think that's overall, an important thing to note. Buckner / Wilson / Ogbu. These guys have been getting better as the year has progressed. A transfer might have experience and will be more physically mature, but they are still brand new to the team and the systems. Some positional groups would be easier to transition into than others.

Maybe that is all it is, but in general he just looked slower when he was running. Maybe it is because he looks like a big dude. Obviously hopes he is ready to go next year. We need any help and improvement we can get.

Best of luck to those guys!  Now let’s hit the portal for another Tank Harris type body on the line and another Hoos for ‘23.

Could use some sort of safety help too. Maybe there is a decent grad transfer out there. Kaup is just too much of a liability. Buckner seems so slow out there. I'll be interested to see if any of the new guys can step up, but that position needs some serious help.

Make the pick and it changes the demeanor of the game. Same for the scoop.

Don’t and the game stays as it has been.

Fumble on the return out of half time would have been the game changer.

I agree with those who said the runner was likely down. BUT, I also agree that the video didn’t seem to show anything to overturn. You can see the runner go down, but can’t see if the ball is possessed or loose. My understanding is if you don’t have indisputable evidence you can’t overturn.

likely the right call, but sets a bad precedent for a very gray area to the rule.
