ill answer this one. in short, sdsu pitcher gives up 2 monster bombs, back to back i think. one of which was over the lights in left field, an absolute moon ball. so the sdsu pitcher is sick of getting shelled and wants out of the game. he looks in the dugout for the sympathy exit, doesnt get it from the coaches. so to get himself out of the game, he blatantly throws at the next batter and misses him. next pitch is inside a bit. third pitch is at the batters head again. ump throws the pitcher out, pitcher looks at the ump with the expression of "finally, its about time" and simply walks to the dugout with no argument. so the ejection was definitely just. coach Z is fired up because thats one of his best hitters being thrown at, so he tells the pitching coach what he thought of it. pitching coach takes offense, and freaks out at Z for accusing him of it. they are in each others face with an ump between them. then the head coach for sdsu comes out and starts yelling, then the asst's for UND come over, and before u know it, its a bench-clearing coaches yelling match. to top all of this off, there was a good crowd and student showing on this day. well, the students of course were all over the sdsu head coach, who in turn tipped his hat to the students and made a gesture to his back-side. this head coach is worthless and classless, and i think the asst. should be the head because he does everything, and the head does nothing. on top of that, the sdsu head coach takes photos from the field of the students on the deck. simply classless. in defense of the sdsu coaches, i really dont think that they told their pitcher to throw at the batter. the pitcher just wanted out, and that was his escape. all that being said, sdsu's head coach is bush-league. it was pretty interesting and entertaining though.

BisonMav, please tell me you arent saying that sdsu-ndsu or ucd-ndsu would have outdrawn the SIOUX-bison game at the fargodome last year. please? i know you arent that ignorant.
-
Bisonfan1234, Hunt no doubt is a good player. But to even mention him in the same breath as Eslinger, more or less say he is better than him, just solidifies the fact that you know nothing about football, and that you are a dillusional bison fan.

Tony, You make ridiculous and outlandish requests. Is Roger Thomas the head of the NCAA-DII Football committee? You make it sound as if all he needs to do is snap his fingers, and VOILA!!!, no more SOS Index. Another thing, the top DII teams are capable of beating ANY DI-AA team in any year. You guys showed it last year by beating Montana. Stop thinking that because you are DI-AA, you are a superior football school. Simply put, youre not.

WOW!!!! I dont know if anybody saw, but SDSU lost to the gophers 3-2 yesterday in Minneapolis. While I realize that Minnesota probably didnt throw any of their top pitchers, this still comes as a surprise to me considering that Minnesota beat Nebraska, Florida St., and Cal St.-Fullerton earlier in the year at the dome, and SDSU has been awful all year. UND better not let down this weekend.
-
I watched the game on DataFlix yesterday also. It was a little blurry and not a very quality picture. But it was worth it, I got to see and follow along somewhat. Good sweep for the Sioux. I hope there are enough senior leaders to guard against a letdown this weekend. Another thing, we still have to go to ndsu for a doubleheader, and i gotta believe they arent happy. So this thing is far from over. Im pumped that i get to watch the games in person this weekend against SDSU. Anybody else gonna be there this weekend? What are the forecasts looking like?
-
You have to be kidding me, that is awful. I hope that is not the case. I feel so bad for a kid that had so much potential only to see his career ended with an injury in his senior year of high school. I really do hope that it isnt career ending.

In my opinion, all Grand Forks sioux fans should wish Grant nothing but the best in the future. Yes, he played for the Gophers, so what. He's a GF kid at heart. It's not his fault that UND didn't recruit him, and sioux fans should not hold that against him. He actually was at a UND football game this fall cheering for the sioux (he probably wouldnt admit it publicly). I've known Grant since we were teenagers. He is a quality person and a class act, as is his brother, Ryan. I dont know if many people know this, but their father, Jay, was also a multi-sport athlete at UND. Grant will be remembered in U of M hockey lore as the first non-Minnesotan in a long time who led and captained his team to 2 national titles and brought them back to national prominence that hadn't been seen in a long time there. I believe that he brought the leadership that maybe was needed and was lacking before. I just think we should wish all GF kids the best, no matter what school they attend. That's just how I feel and is my opinion.

Delroy Ten Thumbs? Hmmmmmmmmmm.....................I wonder if this is someone I know......
-
looks like the games for this weekend got moved up to today and tomorrow because of weather. i may have to make it out for the games tomorrow in st. cloud. doubleheaders are today and tomorrow at 1 and 3 pm. anyone gonna go watch them?
-
i think sioux'01 knows all about that.
-
watch it, sioux'01........or next time, it's your other achilles.
-
yeah, you are right, those weights are a little ridiculous.
-
How big do you really want your linebackers? Digger is only about 6-0 to 6-1, so i think that 235 is definitely a good playing weight for him. I don't think those weights are that far off. He puts on any more weight, and he's sacrificing the lateral movement that makes him so effective. I know Travis O'Neel played at 6-1 and between 235 and 240 lbs. and he was very effective at that weight, and still very fast too. I actually think it can be a psychological advantage when other teams look at the roster and think that they are playing someone physically inferior. Only then to have some UND player bring his lunchpail and hardhat to the game, and hand the opposing player their lunch on gamedays. I just think sometimes people take too much stock in that stuff sometimes. (roster numbers) just my opinion, however.

YEAH!!!! you tell 'em Gary!!!!

so tony, were you interested in Ferris State when you scheduled them for a non-conference game a few years back when you were just a lowly D2 team? I bet you were. Or how about Delta State when they sent you home in the semi-finals in 2000 in the kitty litter? any interest in that game? gotta love bison spin.
-
just curious. if ndsu wanted to schedule a NAIA team, then why wouldnt they look a little closer geographically with a team that would at least be in the top 25, and would probably have a bigger draw beacuse of fan interest? i think we all know the reasons why they wouldnt. you be the judge. i just think its humorous that they still try justify it when we give them crap about scheduling an NAIA team, even though they have ALWAYS been on us about our schedule. Final Rank Team Final 2003 Record 3 Sioux Falls (S.D.) 12-1 5 Dickinson State (N.D.) 11-1 6 Mary (N.D.) 10-2 18 Minot State (N.D.) 7-3

you are absolutely correct teamsioux, Ralph Engelstad, Roger Thomas and the UND hockey program will all be brought up in that topic by JBB at some time. but then after half a bottle of jim beam, his other personality will step in and say "who is UND, and why would i care about a lower-division school?" he is absolutely ridiculous. i wonder how many medications he is on.
-
well, no need in un-banning JBB for this thread(not that i really wanted you to anyways, or that you really would have). i took the liberty of going to bisonville to comment on it, and who was the first person to reply to me? JBB. i love it, its humorous. feel free to check it out and add your thoughts if you like. its under the football topic, "2004 Schedule". if nothing else, its a good laugh to brighten your day.
-
admin, thanks for showing some leniency on the matter. could i ever ask you for one more favor? will you please un-ban the infamous "JBB" and let him come back for just one more thread? i would just love to hear what he has to say in regards to the topic.

yes, AZSIOUX is right, RT O'Sullivans is the place to go. i was in AZ this past week, and my friends and i went there to watch the Final 5 championship game. it was a great time with a pro-sioux crowd there. im guessing there were about 100 sioux fans to about 5 obnoxious gopher fans that were cheering very loud and proud, but it was all in good fun for a little jabbing back and forth. definitely go there.
-
ok, so please tell me its not true that ndsu has scheduled Montana Tech for football. I realize that we are supposed to be hush-hush about ndsu, and stop being in childish arguments that can go on forever. but with all due respect to the admins on this board, this can not go without some ribbing. look how long ndsu fans have been trashing our schedule for football, and how they have been saying they dont want to be associated with the "crookston's" of d2 football. then they go and schedule an NAIA team? i am at a loss for words, and am really laughing hard inside if this is the case. if it isnt true, then i apologize for even posting on it. NAIA?? lmao!!

umm legend, i believe they were a 17 seed.

Jackguy, I had the same thing happen to me by some lady in the CSP section for the UND-ndsu game. We started to sit, and then she said they were saved, I also said there are no reserved seats, then she said all the sections are labeled by teams, and that i should go sit in the crowded UND side. CSP wasnt even playing yet, and she was reserving seats. needless to say, my friends and i tried to handle it as nicely as we could and just sat down there, while she stared and glared in anger. i thought she was gonna go off the proverbial "deep end". unbelievable. sounds like the people at CSP have a bit of a chip on their shoulders for some reason or another.
