  1. I remember the attitude I had when I walked into Hyslop when watching those teams play. You could just feel it in the air that there was no way they were going to lose. Well coached, great players, great leaders, great team play. It would be nice to get back to that feeling again at the Betty.
  2. Great win by the men tonight. Controlled the game from start to finish. Shot free throws well. Still need to work on defense though. Cannot let a guy like Braun just continually get to the rim. Excited to see where this team goes this year.
  3. Connecting flight to Boston for the hockey series this weekend?...
  4. Interesting question to say the least. The conflict of interest would be massive if Klieman stayed on staff for the remainder of the season, which I presume he would. Specifically for recruiting.
  5. (Sigh)...
  6. Honestly, WTH?...
  7. Correct.
  8. You do understand that part of the recruiting process and building a rapport with a HS is the high school coach right? Whether any of us like it or not, they have BIG influence in a kids decision. The only reason I mention it is because it would appear that you don't understand it. You'll have to forgive me if I've read into it incorrectly.
  9. While I'm no basketball expert, I'm seriously concerned about the physicality of Wisconsin and their style of play and how UND holds up against it. Im hoping for the best though!
  10. Agreed about Alvarez, with the exception of the skill players from Florida. Speed guys like Lee Evans and Chris Chambers were found in Ohio, Michael Bennett from Milwaukee and Jamar Fletcher was a Missouri kid. Their best WR right now (Abbrederis) is a former walk-on I believe from in-state. In my opinion, you can find the requisite skill guys in the upper midwest (ND, MN, WI, IA, NE, etc....even IL) They're there to be had, we just havent been getting them (in MN and WI). We need the new guy, whomever it may be, to get them. I realize the skill guys in a state like ND are few and far between, but when they are there, you have to have a chance at getting them. Generally speaking, coastal kids and North Dakota are not and have not been a good match. FWIW Barry Alvarez would "stand on the table" for a certain someone. 100% guarantee. Sorry, not trying to start another disagreement on that.
  11. There's a legit sample size of how we've already "expanded" in to the western states enough I think isnt there? A kid here or there is fine, but...
  12. No, he's not LITERALLY a UND guy in terms of playing here. FIGURATIVELY, he's more of a UND guy than many of our football letterwinners and current players. EDIT: The people who want a 'fresh start' and someone who's not a 'good ol boy' from UND get their wish. The people who want a 'UND Guy' get theirs.
  13. What's Big Sky Country? What does that mean? How does that help? If you are referring to recruiting, which is where it all starts, don't we all agree that we need to do better in the upper midwest for recruiting? ND, MN, WI? We do NOT need kids from California, Washington and Oregon. Not sure how being familiar with Big Sky country really helps. I respectfully disagree and believe we need a coach who understands how to recruit the upper midwest successfully.
  14. FWIW I also acknowledge Glenn Caruso would be a great candidate. He would be my second choice.
  15. In my opinion, no. He could do that at too many other places higher than UND.
  16. I acknowledge that experience will be BB's biggest downfall on the resume, and rightfully so. I just think he can overcome it and do it early and surround himself with a good staff. His leadership qualities are innate. Also, sending Brooks into ND, MN and WI living rooms for recruiting - Who would be better in terms of name recognition in all 3 states? I'll save the reasons for each state.
  17. http://espn.go.com/b...istants-in-2012 http://www.cardiachill.com/2012/12/27/3791070/pitt-football-tino-sunseri-paul-chryst-wisconsin-badgers-brooks-bollinger-pittsburgh-panthers Wonder if he's going places?
  18. Oh, that's right! I stand corrected... I take you at your word. You must know him better than I do.
  19. Tim Tibesar is in his 1st year in the NFL as the Bears linebacker coach. He is not leaving the position that take some people a lifetime to get to to come back and be head coach at UND and I don't blame him. Look no further than Gus Bradley as to what can happen when you finally get your foot in the door in the NFL. Tim would be absolutely fantastic. But he's not coming to UND.
  20. Regarding experience: sure Brooks doesn't have coordinator or college head coaching experience. However look no further than his playing and coaching resume for the people and staffs he's worked with. His contacts in the NFL and college are impressive. 8 years in the NFL with 4 different teams will get you to know people. Just to name a few, he has worked with Brad Childress at Wisconsin, Darrell Bevell at Minnesota and Jay Gruden in the UFL. Gruden and Bevell are both hot name candidates to land an NFL head job soon. To combat his inexperience, he will surround himself with experienced or 'up and comer' coaches and staff. He will have great options at his disposal because of his own network. He's smart and would recognize his weakness and fix it. Brooks is a natural leader, always has been - everywhere he's been. You want a face of the program that fans, alumni and letterwinners will buy into? There will be ZERO breaking-in period with comfortability with alumni. How about fundraising and PR? Can't think of anyone better for UND specifically. The overall morale of the program takes a HUGE shot in the arm with him from day 1. It's a natural fit for both sides. How about career intentions and knowing UND and what it's all about? We know the guy truly cares about UND. He was born and raised into it. He will not be always looking for his next and better job. Head coaches/coordinators have to get their start somewhere. Some AD needs to take a chance to hire the next best thing. The guy has been thrust into leadership roles at very young ages his entire life. I think Brooks is the overall best package for UND. We have one chance and window at him and its now.
  21. Brooks Bollinger. Start there and see where it goes.
  22. I would question the character, loyalty, conviction and overall backbone of any person that crosses over from either side of the football rivalry because of the rise in success of one side. History shows this football rivalry is cyclical. The cycle will come back to UND again. When that day comes, those fence jumpers can just stay where they are.
  23. I gotta hand it to you. You really are hilarious.
  24. Here ya go... Keaton Studsrud: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/602945/ Jacques Perra: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1773419/
  25. Studsrud has been offered as a QB. I am 99% sure of that.
