Duncan nearly scores! SOMEONE FINISH IT OFF!
-
Two great saves by Phil after being left out to dry. We can't keep doing this.
-
Anyoone else perk up every time TH says "McMahon"? I know it is UAA's McMann, but darn could we use a Rory McMahon right now.
-
You already have my address, AZSioux. Go right ahead and send me that Ed Belfour signed goalie stick
-
Oshie nearly scored. Lawson makes a great save. We're at least getting some shots close in. Gosh what it would be like to finish one.....
-
Lots of action so far. Best chance goes to UAA so far, but a great save by Phil. They were really making us move out there. Thank goodness for Zajac and Prpich's positioning there otherwise they probably would have scored.
-
Some good chances off the bat. Honest question: When is interference interference? It can't be interference if the player being intefered with has the puck, right?
-
Marvin is out. Radke is in. Kaip is out. Foyt is in.
-
No mention of how long. He couldn't get over the fact that all he got from Jordy was "hip flexor." TH can be such a retard sometimes. He won't say that though, that's protected by HIPAA We won't know about Radke until the lineups. I hope he is in the lineup. He's among the team leaders among D on offense.
-
Toews interviewed and they said that he was indeed tired. He also said that they may have gotten 51 shots but none of them were quality. He could say that again.
-
TH is rambling about moose at Wal Mart. Trust me, I'm about a hair's breadth short of switching over to the UAA feed as well. He did explain that, according to JPar, he has a "hip flexor" injury. Apart from rambling on about HIPAA and reciting "hip flexor" 100 times, it's the only thing of value stated on the pregame show.

Kaip is out, Foyt is in. Foyt-Prpich-Fabian is the checking line tonight. Watkins with Duncan and Kozek maybe?
-
Let's give the Sioux feed the benefit of the doubt: Why do they have such horrible problems with staying on the air when they go on the road? Is it bad equipment? What's the deal? I'll withhold my opinion just to ask the question. TH explained that there's nothing they can do. Well, news to TH, but there are VERY FEW arenas around the WCHA where they DON'T have that problem.
-
I say Sioux win it too, but not like this. This is Phil in net, guys. We're winning 2-1, 3-1, or 3-2.

Hmmm Damage is recoverable. Maybe we could use the money we get off of this landmark to fund a move to DI? Like... 100% of the move is covered by the NCAA

The fact that you would even think this up is simply astounding. So I'll assume you were being humorous and just forgot the emoticon. ------------------------------------ Wilbur- Why do goaltenders like Cloutier (VAN), Osgood (DET), Prusek (CAR?), Hasek (OTT), and I think one or two others still use that mask? Is there any advantage with the cage visibility-wise?

A logical response to an illogical thread. I wish stupid threads were against the board's policy so the moderator could lock this one up.

Interestingly enough (maybe) is that Union did this without their leading scorer, who forgot that he was in school too and was deemed academically ineligible just before the holiday tourneys.

Some comments: 1. There is a lot of talk both here and on USCHO on the topic of "domination." Well, who dominated? My answer is UAA. No, they didn't outshoot us. However, they did outplay us in all of the important areas of the game: Scoring, rebounds, defensively. 2. Lawson outplayed Phil. Flat out. 3. One thing that was key is that UAA didn't allow many point blank shots nor did they allow many shots from close in straight on net. Most of the shots the first 2 periods (I went to bed shortly after UAA went up 3-0) were from the periphery. Sure, we've scored from out there, but the odds are better for the goaltender when the puck comes from the point IMO. 4. IN the first 1.5 periods, we didn't get many offensive odd man rushes. This is more of a solid transitiional and defensive play by UAA than anything. 5. Several players weren't playing to their potential, but I think there was a lot of players trying their hardest at least in the first 1.5 periods. Toews seemed slow, but really that's the only player that looked like they were affected by the WJC. 6. We got robbed by one bad call and something happened there. I believe Toews' penalty was the start of the slide and Watkin's major was really something to listen to. However, I don't think we would have won even if Watkins hadn't been thrown out. Albers is a rookie in the WCHA, I believe. Well he called like a rookie. That happens. If he doesn't improve it will tell us more about the real problem in the WCHA officiating corps is (see sig).

I buy the concussion. Karl Goehring got a concussion for taking a Mike Commodore slap shot to the mask shortly before the Final Five IIRC. It's perfectly possible especially with some of the players we have on the blue line being able to wind up so well. I believe Smaby's shot isnt exactly pillow soft to block. There are others too.

Yikes 5-3 was the final score? A sound thrashing was what we got. Maybe tonight's game we can come to the ice with a sound wake up call so we can put more goals behind Lawson than behind Phil. I mean, let's face it, I like Phil and all, but if he plays like that (and the defense plays like that as well) against Minny next week? Wow. The Gopher fans are going to be all over this site trolling simply because it will be the easiest reg. season sweep the Gophers have had for a long time. Shore up the D, shore up the O, shore up tonight's game. Period.

I really hope Radke was scratched just to give Marvin more playing time and not because Hak just didn't like him. He is one of the defensive point leaders on the team.
-
I'm far too negative. I AM going to bed now.

Whooo........ This isn't very good. 3-0 The hole is getting deeper and deeper and deeper... We have to start burying them or we're going to lose this game. Albers is reviewing it, but I'm sure it is just to give the Sioux a breather. At least we're shooting the puck. Hit 2 goalposts so far.
