I'll say this much: I hope Zach and Joe will get better. I don't know if we'll miss them that much this weekend, but against UW.... we'll DEFINITELY need them.

Wow. So we're back to considering Lee as a bust now? Or am I totally missing the point here? Seriously, I guess some fans will never just accept that Lee plays a different game than previous 6'3" defensemen that wore a Sioux jersey. Those of us that understand that concept will just have to come to grips with that.

Can I vote for all of the above in both polls? I think we're going to get great years out of Radke, Porter, Kozek, and Watkins. I don't know if they will put up big numbers, but I think they will be solid contributors all year long. I'm getting the impression that the freshman class isn't the most flashy class we've had (or in the NCAA by any means), but I think they'll fit in and exceed expectations in their own way according to the role Hak and crew give them. In the end, I think we'll all be impressed with the entire freshman class.

COuld you imagine if we could arrange exhibition games vs. FSU and Illinois? Our Custer clone riding down the sidelines towards Chief Osceola or Chief Illiwinek? I think Saigo would have a stroke!

So that's what those 4 extra years of undergrad taught ya, eh? Maybe I should investigate that. Oh well, so I'm wrong. At least this will be Frazee's chance to put up or shut up. Wayne State will be nothing to the Gophers (They aren't even as talented as Alaska ALaska Alaska Nanooks or whatever ) so I doubt we'll see much there. It all comes down to Oct. 6.

Something irks me about this suspension... 3 game suspensions in every other league are consecutive (sp?). According to what I read, Briggs is suspended for one game vs. Maine and both games vs. Wayne State. I think it's really neat that Lucia has the "Select-a-suspension" option for his team. Makes planning easier. For example, if Lucia decides that Briggs will start Fridays and Frazee starts on Saturdays, why stop at a 3 game suspension? Lucia could "suspend" Briggs for every Saturday's game for the rest of the season and call it a "team suspension." This suspension may be for legit reasons but it is being enforced questionably, IMO.
