  1. It's nice to see Duncan break the scoring drought for the Sioux recruits in the BCHL. The last week or so, it seemed like they would just pick up a goal or an assist every game. That would be nice to have Kozek and Duncan finish 1,2 in the scoring race!
  2. also, Toews is a projected Top 10 pick in the 2006 NHL draft
  3. Kozek get's a hattrick in Surrey's 4-3 win. Kozek is now in second place with 60 points in 35 games. The leader has 62 points, also in 35 games. Duncan is in sixth place....
  4. I've heard that Ammerman is most likely going to Duluth.... Does anyone know if Hardwick is still on a lot of teams radar's. Is there a chance that he'll end up at UND.
  5. high school stats Oshie's leading the state of Minnesota in points right now with 33 in eight games.
  6. couldn't agree more.....that's because Minnesota is a better hockey team.... I know it's Canisius, but 1/2 of the Sioux team probably wouldn't make the Minnesota roster.
  7. Watkins and Duncan both do well in their games tonight..... Watkins get's two goals in their 5-2 win.... he's now tied for 14th with 38 points Duncan gets a goal and an assist in Salmon Arms 4-2 loss... he's now tied for ninth with 40 points....
  8. Kozek gets three goals and an assist in surrey's 6-11 loss.....he's now in third place with 46 points. Duncan didn't produce tonight and is now tied for 10th with 38 points. But, Duncan's 1.6 ppg is tied with Kozek..... Watkins is just out of the top 20.....
  9. I don't know anything about him, but someone on USCHO says that he's a big time player. Also CHeisenber has him number 2 on the list. I'm happy that we signed someone else that's supposed to be a big time offensive player...
  10. INCH just put up there list and UND has a lot of players ranked very, very high. Forwards: 1. Travis Zajac 5. Ratslav Spirko Defense: 2. Kyle Radke Goalie: 3. Phil Lamoureux WOW!
  11. Jones, Chorney and Lee will be the best freshman defensive unit in the counrty. Duncan is a stud and Oshie has all the tools to be a great player. Vandevelde and Miller are ok.
  12. From "USA Hockey" site The U.S. Under-18 Select Team roster features 12 forwards, including five members of the 2003 U.S. Under-17 Select Team that captured the championship at last year
  13. Here are the rankings from last year's select 16 festival: Defensemen: 1. Erik Felde, Pacific, #2 Grey, 5'9", 155 lbs. -- LD from Anchorage, AK and the Alaska All-Stars Midget AAA squad. Brandon Gentile, Michigan, #3 White, 6'0", 180 lbs. -- LD from Clarkson, Mich. and Little Caesar's '87. Going to NTDP. Took a lot of penalites, so was msissing from action for huge swaths of time. Looked good when he was out there, however. 4. Jon Ammerman, Minn., #3 Black, 5'11", 175 lbs. -- LD from the Moorhead HS Spuds. Was invited to NTDP in March, but chose to remain in Minnesota. 5. David Inman, Pacific, #3 Grey, 6'1", 195 lbs. -- RD from San Diego and the LA Junior Kings Midgets. Won a spot on the NTDP off his play here. 6. Evan Stephens, Michigan, #7 White, 5'11", 168 lbs. -- RD from Ojibwa Eagles Midget AAA. A 12/7/87 birthdate. Probably the #5 d-man on Michigan team, but it was a strong group with the likes of Gentile, Turek, Mitera, Lawson, and hard to stand out. He's a good player, though, and worth following. 22. AJ Meyer, Atlantic, #4 Maroon, 6'0", 170 lbs. -- RD from Westfield, NY and Choate. 23. Sam Zabcowicz, Central, #3 Purple, 5'7", 130 lbs. -- A LD from Greendale, Wisc. Good offensively. ------------------------------------------------ Chorney scored a shorthanded goal in today's 5-2 loss for team Minnesota in their first game in the select 17 festival. ushr
  14. After what Matt said about his brother hoping to play at UND and now, seeing that he can be a top 5 recruit, I would be really disappointed if the Sioux don't land him. Jones, Chorney, Lee on the blueline starting the 2005 season!!!!
  15. Those 4 goalies are a little different than what the Sioux will have this year. Sofie and Ranfranz were walk-on's that weren't even looked to at the beginning of the year for any sort of playing time.
  16. Carmen: holy angels(forward) johnson: holy angels(defense) palm: shattuck U-16 team (defense) all were invited to the NDTP camp....Johnson and Palm have officially commited to the NDTP and it sounds like Carmen will also. Also, Jordy Christian who also made the select festival is Dave's son and is supposed to be an stud....
  17. Hopfully Gifford, Jones, Ammerman, Hardwick...... Hopefully these guys are on UND's radar. Tysen Dowzak Kyle Okposo Mike Carmen Erik Johnson Trent Palm
  18. So far the Sioux have seven verbals from players for the 05' season. I'm going to rank them on what I've heard and read. I've watched a couple of them play. Big 3 These three really stick out in my mind then the rest of them. 1. Brian Lee 2. Taylor Chorney 3. Ryan Duncan Next 2 4. T.J. Oshie 5. Chris Vandevelde These two aren't as polished as the Top 3....Both have huge upsides though....(Oshie the next Bochenski?) Bottom 2 6. Matt Moreland 7. Brad Miller I'm not too excited about the last 2... Overall: Chorney and Lee where said to be the 2 best d-man at the Minnesota Selects festival. If Z. Jones commits or (Ammerman,Hardwick)....we could be looking at the best freshman class as far as defense goes since the early to mid 80's....I'm really excited about Duncan(offensive star of the group), Oshie and Vandevelde....hopefully Moreland and Miller will surprise me.
  19. Gifford who was a senior at Moorhead last year was drafted in the 3rd round yesterday by the Penguins 85th overall. I took this from POI Name: Brian Gifford Chosen: 85th Position: Center Size: 6-1, 173 Shoots: Left Born: Nov. 12, 1985; Fargo, N.D. 2003-04 team: Moorhead, Minn. (high school) Numbers: 19 goals, 37 assists, 26 penalty minutes in 26 games Central ranking: 130th, North American skaters Noteworthy: Another player who impressed Penguins at tryout. ... Father is 6 feet 7, so team is expecting he still will grow. ... Currently mulling four offers from NCAA Division I schools but could go to USHL. Malone's analysis: "He's got good hands, and he's a really good kid who works hard at his game. His skating was a little off, and we saw him at the tryout, and it didn't look that bad. All of a sudden, we're sitting there going, 'Whoa.' " He would be an awesome player to pick up.
  20. If I could choose, my first choice would be Sandelin. I would put my money on Hakstol getting the job. Hakstol will be a good coach though.... If Hakstol get's it hopefully Johnson or Eades will get the assistant job(I'm sure they will)
  21. I'm sure it's not true, but here you go HF Board EDIT: There should be a couple ?? after Columbus
  22. TSN has Zajac going 14th overall..... Reading many websites, it seems that Zajac's stop is rising fast!
