  1. Seems to me that he could be a bit inconsistent. Could be why they didn't offer, if they didn't.
  2. I'm not sure we had offered him yet. Last I heard, UND wanted to see a little bit more out of him and this last showcase could have been a cudgel to do it. So be it. Good player, but there's almost never a time I don't trust the staff on these calls. I love the caliber of player we've gotten so far from Sunday.
  3. All seem like great humans and great hockey players. Perron: "He's so special," Needham said. "He is an elite, high-skilled forward that is unbelievably intelligent. He's a really strong skater. He's going to fit very well with the Chicago Steel and that style of play. I think he's so under the radar, which just blows my mind. But I think he's a guy that ends up doing a lot for Hockey Canada and takes the USHL by storm next year. "His character. . . he's everything North Dakota hockey, I feel like, tries to identify when they recruit. For me, personally, what he has done just in terms of his focus, his training, how much he loves hockey. . . . what he's done for our culture in the Sioux Falls Power program, I'm so thankful. He's a special kid." Strathmann: "He's probably the best teammate I've ever coached," said Ryan Ward, who coached Strathmann last season and serves as Tri-City's director of player development. "He's insanely loyal. He's a guy who tries to make teammates better every single practice. He's ultra, ultra competitive in anything he does, which is great. Any time you have a captain and leader like that, it just elevates everyone's game and speeds up the development process exponentially. He set the tone every single day last year. He has a genuine ability to lead. He's a leader of men." Livanavage: "He loves UND," Needham said of Livanavage. "He's so excited to play there. Both of these guys (Perron and Livanavage) are. It's a dream of theirs. They're really highly touted prospects and they're so proud to play there."
  4. You making a point about anyone learning to read is quite hilarious.
  5. They definitely used to sell out all the time. Had a streak of over 100 back in 2018. Not sure what that looked like since with the pandemic and all of that.
  6. Sendo gets the C https://fightinghawks.com/news/2021/7/22/mens-hockey-mark-senden-named-captain-four-honored-as-assistants.aspx Senden -- C Weatherby, Frisch, Hain, Sanderson -- A Great group. I love it.
  7. You never know.... all 17 of those fans in the bleachers could be rich alumni.
  8. Pretty impressive stuff. We'll see if it translates the BU route our if they can put it together. Minny vs. Mich should be fun to watch this year.
  9. Bob McKenzie's final rankings for the draft has Brent Johnson at 68. https://www.tsn.ca/owen-power-pulls-away-from-crowded-nhl-draft-field-1.1669730
  10. Idk, man. Normally, I'd say you're right, but you must've missed the new rule of unlimited, never-ending OTs in sequence until period 12 when, because no clear winner has emerged, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a winner is crowned
  11. Good news for UND. I feel like these two aren't long for the Green and White, however. Sounds like Hak came after Jax, apparently. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/7103832-UND-hockey-coaching-staff-expected-to-remain-in-tact-for-2021-22-season
  12. Reliable... in what way? lol Never heard of any casino described as "reliable"
  13. Read this last week and it is absolute trash.
  14. As a Rangers fan, I can unequivocally state that Hak is better than Quinn and it's not close.
  15. Lots of ... and with the first pick in the expansion draft... the Seattle Kraken select... Chris VandeVelde... I'll have to admit, I laughed at that one
  16. Would be very hard to turn down. Jax is a helluva coach.
  17. Both would deserve it. If I had to guess, I'd say Jax is not super long at UND unless Bubs is gone and he takes the head job.
  18. https://dknation.draftkings.com/nhl/2021/6/24/22548821/seattle-kraken-head-coach-dave-hakstol-nhl-expansion-team-draft-news Pretty cool stuff. Congrats, Hak!
  19. He also mentioned Navy.
  20. This is a bit of an understatement, IMO. I recently watched a video of him playing behind the net in the offensive zone for over a minute while leaving the rest of his linemates out to dry. He's slowly getting back while a forward skates straight trying to stop two separate odd-man rushes. Happened all game, too. No need to pile on to the kid, but that stuff wouldn't fly here.
  21. Definitely a part of it, but I've heard it's more about the other stuff.
  22. Just look through past threads on our recruits. The kid apparently came with some really, really deep red flags. Not all his fault, but certainly not stopped by him. I've heard some pretty awful stories about him and I'm not upset he's gone. I'm upset talent like that won't find a way to avoid the nonsense and just play, however.
