Who are we thinking on coach of the year at this point? lol sorry…too fun to ignore.
Yes Berry really has done great but Mayotte has done better.
Has he? Beating UND is one thing, but UND has still had a better season. Btw, I did say Mayotte would win it lol

Let's get this going.
I know CC is playing well, and I know they played us well at home, but I don't care. I truly believe we are better and we should win.
I think we break out a little bit, here. Our boys need to be and should be playing loose. The pressure is more so on the Tigers. Play fast and win.
UND wins 4-1
Blake, OMac, Gaber, Jammer

I like it, but goodness, please, no OT haha.
I guess it would keep our regulation streak intact.
I think we sweep. Not because CC isn't good, because they are. But, I just think we're better. The team is really rolling. Just feels like a confident bunch.
With that said, wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to get smacked in the mouth one of the nights just to keep the team on its toes.

Who else stayed back in Grand Forks?
I'd assume Cheese

Berry and company have done an excellent job putting the team together this year and bringing us up multiple notches. But it's hard to see someone other than Mayotte winning coach of the year in our conference. He definitely deserves it with where that program was for 7-8 straight years. Major props to him
In defense of Bubs (I think Mayotte will likely win it, and should), he turned around AN ENTIRE DCorps and added a new goaltender. That's a helluva recruiting and coaching job

What's interesting is that nine teams are apparently "locked" in (>99% chance of "In").
Sunday I ran a "UND loses out" scenario and could only fall to PWR12 so I'm not surprised UND is an apparent lock.
Man, SO much more fun being in this spot as opposed to last year. Goodness, I can't wait for the tournament.

Albrecht in, Johannes out.... but, Bubs said he's "not far from being in the lineup"

Lots of hedging going on around here....
Let's effing sweep them. Yes, they played us well in our barn. Yes, they are having a better year than they have in a long time. But, so our we.
Eff this team. Sweep em and get one step closer to the Penne Rosa.

Are we rooting for Omaha to lose to keep them away from an at large big so we have a better chance at being placed in Sioux Falls?
I'm not. I'm rooting for Omaha to lose because I think they are annoying
In all honesty, I'm a one step at a time kind of guy. The Penrose is step one for me. So, whatever gets us there quickest, count me in

It appears to be the book on UND: through tight marking and physical play with pressure by taking away time and space thus affecting decisions, errant pases, and creating frustration. We saw last night UND frustration especially when confronted. UND can clean their clock physically but it distracts from movement down ice.
Isn't this the game plan of every team that plays hockey?

Come on man, you relish putting on your cape and defending anything Kelly green.
What am I defending? "We didn't play well and neither did Luddy".... what a stupid "argument" this is.

All four goals against Ludvig were solid scoring chances. Sure, he’s stopped them before. His defense left him out to dry every time.
Now, Berry is the ultimate players coach. Why the interviews after the game, if he’s just gonna sugar coat everything? It just looks bad. Really no excuse for the turnovers and poor back checking. This is against a bad team, that was without their top players. Blake running to the locker room after winning the game, tells the tale.
Again, what did he sugar coat? Solid scoring chances? Like on the horrendous bounce that lead to a wide open breakaway on the SHG?
Whatever. Long story short, d corps didn't play their best and Luddy didn't bail them out. Got the win. Let's stop going in circles lol.

Team D was atrocious early on. Goalie didn’t save the day. But they locked in when it mattered. It was lt wasn’t bad bounces.
There were definitely a couple bad bounces, but I don't disagree we didn't play our best defensive game.

Disagree. Luddy definitely wants a couple back from tonight, but he's been the guy all year. He also made a huge save late to help us win. He'll be fine.

Didn’t mention the poor defensive play. Blamed it on bounces. Puck luck. Same stuff.
Well, I don't think he was that far off. UND played well in that game, by in large, and a couple of bad bounces did lead to goals, two that Luddy would want back.
Plus, what do you want Bubs to say? I'll never understand why anyone wants a coach to rip his players publicly. It accomplishes nothing. The team knows they shouldn't have needed OT for the win.

My biggest question is why Schmaltz gets a pass , hasn’t scored all year yet Strinden is on the 4th line and Jake stays where he is.
I see it as a balance thing. The third and fourth lines feel relatively similar. If you flip Strinden and Schmaltz, the gap would be wider, IMO.
Kunz deserved his shot on line 1. Perron will be fine and will ultimately be an incredible Top 6 player, right now he's just not there yet. It happens.

I'll go 5-1.
I think Miami may come out hard, but they are outgunned and they are missing even some of their best players. Play like the DU series and it's not close.
Blake, Strinden, Pyke, OMac

They beat it repeatedly on Saturday, especially in the first 40, but didn't bury the puck.
The second sentence is the key. Paging Mr. Johannes.
