Lol. Duluth and Notre Dame’s first game winning goals were waived off against UND in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Both teams literally had to score 2 game winning goals each to beat UND in the NCAAs.

    In back-to-back seasons.

If UND only got more favorable bounces in the NCAAs!

But neither were goals? I get what you're saying, but both were not goals and both calls were changed correctly.

Someone on this board still continue to believe that Omaha and Colorado College are easy outs. Newsflash: ‘ they are not!’

Some also refuse to believe Michigan's first three goals in the tournament were also insane bounces.

Carle got Pohlkamp because he’s a great recruiter that has a great thing going right now. He also plays a more free still of play, especially with his dmen.

Good clarification, @scpa0305. I said it as gospel that Carle got Pohlkamp because he coached him in the WJC. That made it seem like I think that's the only reason. Absolutely not the case. Carle is definitely in a groove right now in all things. Certainly didn't hurt to have the comfortability, though.

    Schmaltz......"Hold my beer".

......and let's not forget the missed NCAA Lovefest with Hain and Senden that year.

Seems some definitely get jettisoned quick while others have rope that is pretty long.

Replacing Schmaltz, fair. But he was bottom 6. So, I still don't think he would have been happy with bottom 6, which is likely why he left. I'm not arguing we couldn't have used him, by the way. I just don't think he would have accepted his role.

Agree.......and so was Constantini. 31 points this season says we gave up on him too soon IMO.

I remember him getting A LOT of shots as a sophomore and he didn't deliver. Hindsight 20/20, of course. He had a good year. Where would he have slotted into this year? My guess is the team saw him bottom six and he didn't want it.

Well, if Carle got Pohlkamp because he is an American, then Berry should be able to pull Wood away from the Canadian-hating Minnesota crowd.   (...and yes, despite Close, there are still a few of them.)

Oh man, I hear the "Canadian argument" from Minny fans still today, all the time. It's the dumbest thing ever to argue why one team is better than the other.

Your logic is undeniable. Consider Wood a new add ;)

If Blake signs as has been mentioned, would be great to land one/both of the Wilkie/Wood combo.

I know ALL of the smoke has been on Wood to Minny, but I think the kid must be really considering his options because he's still unsigned. Would be lovely, but I know we're strongly in contention for Wilkie.

Yeah, that's the guy. The guy that's been out with an injury for Denver for a few weeks now.

Them having Rizzo from 4 years ago does nothing to your premise that they are killing us in recruiting. They just aren't. They beat us to Pohlkamp likely because of Carle. Bubs is Canadian. He was never going to coach Pohlkamp.

Safe to say there’d be 34,000 at a regional in GF? Still a rule that it can’t be at home rinks? Hence Fargo at Schees vs in gf right?

Not a rule, but a high preference. If UND bid the Ralph and no one else bid, they could certainly get it.

Name one good thing that has happened for this program over the past month. And the Penrose Cup was in February, so you can't count that. Just saying.

Nah, I'm good. Don't feel like I need to get into a pissing match about how depressed I am about the program.

I thought his performance at the regional may cost him, especially his play at the end of the last game.

He's got a great shot with Celebrini and Cutter both being candidates too.

I thought Will Smith could get picked over Gauthier, but Cutter showed out in the regional. I think they got the Top 3 right, for sure. I expect Gauthier to win it, but Blaker could be the benefit of a splitting vote scenario between Celebrini and Gauthier.
