you are not subtle in your desire for blue chip players, Current roster has 3 in my opinion (1st rd & upper half of 2n rd), sure a full roster of 1st rounders sounds nice but not a cure all. More is better than less and I doubt anyone is turning away a chippa for any other type of player. Has Berry gotten his share of chippas? compared to who, Hak, Blais, Gine, Michigan, BC, BU, the goofs.... without any further looking I would think he is trailing but not a bare cupboard situation. Is he getting the most from them? meh, not in my humble opinion, but my qualifications are on par with a Giovannis 3.99 pizza, it's there and greasy, and it will make a turd.

Whatever wins.... but less sarcasticly, Whatever you have the personnel for, and will work best against the opponent... Flexibility, observation, & insight. Easy words, less easy to use

I was thinking more of connecting with players and maintaining control over locker room... whatever Berry says/does with the players doesn't seem to have an effect on what fans see on the ice. I didn't get to watch much of Blais' teams but Hak seemed to get more out of players. But style of play as you noted could be major issue, putting round pegs in square holes. Makes one wonder if the "prep for 200' nhl player" tales precedent over win the games? Also could Brad have an infinity towards "roll 4 lines" regardless of results hoping eventually the tactic will bring results?

Heater may be too old, he played for Gino's if I recall. Former players/current coaches that played for Blais? Or would they also be too old to connect with the current youth? referring to another comment about Blais ruling the locker room. Would Blais type of "boss" work with the current generation of players?

Makes a person wonder, why did Blais choose Hak over Berry, they were both assistants under him? IMHO, he chose correctly, although it's a very sketchy comparison as Hak had much different players, arena was new, times were different, etc

If I recall, didn't Hak hand pick Berry, and Blais installed Hak... Not an avid follower at the time (curse the per internet days) for the Gino to Blais change, is that a unique thing to UND hockey, coaches installing their own successor?
