  1. Bohl: Hit me with it! Just give it to me straight! I came a long way just to see you, Dick. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?

    Hanson: Not good.

Bohl: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?

Hanson: I'd say more like one out of one point eight million.

    [pause]

Bohl: So you're telling me there's a chance... *YEAH

    Where's VMeister?

Took me awhile, Doc. AG 8.0 is up and running.

Happy Festivus to all the FOAGies! (Friends of Answer Guy)

  2. Bohl is probably feeling the heat, and had to throw somebody under the bus I guess. Ironically, isn't that what happened to him at Nebraska back in the day?

If Breske has a new job by New Year's, it would be possible it was already lined up before he resigned. If he doesn't have a new job soon, it would be hard to argue that the resignation was voluntary.

  3. True, Hellevang has been better this year. But right now, he averages 3 yards less per punt than does Cameron, and for his career Hellevang is just 25-53 on field goals 30 yards and out (inside of 30 is just a long PAT and should be close to automatic at the D-I level). When you add the fact that half his career games have been played indoors, those numbers are pretty weak.

Has it ever been explained why Cameron is not punting all the time? Last spring it sounded like Hellevang was done punting; Cameron was the guy. Anyone know what changed?

  4. From my own experience, I can say Kotelnicki is the most well-versed and most knowledgeable 3-4 coach we have on the team right now. As mentioned above, Schmidt would also be a good choice.

I hope that Muss is the answer at Head Coach for the next 10 years. Although I'm starting to feel bi-polar watching this team. At least this is one of the good weeks!

That said, here's my list of people to someday move back to Grand Forks:

    - Tim Tibesar

    - Eric "the Beerman" Schmidt

    - Brooks Bollinger

[Answer Guy's choice - Casey Bradley]

  5. After watching the Sioux hockey games on tv the announcer would say Fighting Sioux at full strength...what does the crowd chant back?? I couldn't figure it out. I haven't been to a Sioux game in 2 years. I do like the Thank you at the one minute mark and the announcer says your welcome at the one minute mark of the 3rd.

I usually only get to a game or two a year...mainly stick to the foosball. But I've got a semi-related hockey question:

On the Big Dogs sports report, they go Canadian for the hockey scores. Does the saying "Put Mum in the garage" actually mean something or just a random Canadian thing to say?

  6. We can certainly do without posts attacking other posters of other sites which could be construed as personal attacks, defamation, or libel; as outlined in the Forum Terms and Rules section.

I'm a bit curious how an "attack" by an anonymous person on another anonymous person could be classified as a personal attack, defamation, or libel.

But I'm pretty sure that the Answer Guy isn't looking for a hassle from THE MAN!

If anyone knows an appropriate spot where future editions might be posted, let me know. Anyway, I can't imagine there would be anything left in Fargo to mock and ridicule! :)

Q- Should all inquiries be in the form of a question? (Alex Trebek, Malibu, CA)

    A- Yes.

  9. I recorded sportcenter to watch the highlights of the ISU-NDSU game since there were so few college games last night. I saw Boise, So Carolina, Western Ill, hell, I even saw Duluth highlights; there were no Cyclone-Bison highlights. I guess you have to choose your Big 12 opponents more carefully.

Kind of hoping there aren't UND highlights shown on Saturday night. Probably wouldn't be shown for a good reason.

  10. If you're interesting in flying with our team charter we have a few seats left. The cost is $480 per person/double occupancy or $530 per person/single occupancy. (This includes flight/hotel/game ticket/ground transportation.) We leave Friday morning and return Saturday after the game. If interested, please call me.

(This came from Cindy Klug at the football office)

  11. I regret to inform you that Mark Bacon passed away Wednesday October 22nd at around 4:30am. Mark played on the 1984 and 1985 football teams.

Mark was diagnosed with melanoma cancer to the brain in August of 2004. He had the brain tumor removed and was cancer free until September of 2007. When the cancer showed up in his liver, he faced it with undaunted courage; going through three different types of chemotherapy throughout the past year.

At this time I do not have any funeral arrangements to pass on to you. We are about to board our plane to California, so hopefully someone will get that information out. It will likely take place in Braham, MN. Please keep Mark and Sue in your thoughts and prayers.
