    Hobey Baker

Knight should be part of that. Eric Hartzell got all of like 2,700 votes, Knight only got something like 8 times that number. So obviously fan voting is taking a whole lot into consideration. This board must have connections to the same board that put Minn and UND in a bracket together, BC 50 miles from home, and decided to put the "western regional" in the eastern time zone...
  2. I agree. Especially considering the net was knocked off by a Yale guy pusing us into it and the pick was kicked back in by a Yale guy. That could have completely changed the game. Hard to keep a momentum push after a 7 minute review. There should be a deffinate time limit on reviews.
  3. You are just naming teams that are good. But U would hardly say Notre Dame and CC are premier. Good, yes. But premier is elite. Best recruits, top facilities, highest expectations.
  4. By the numbers they do not look to bad. By the actual goals that occurred, they sometimes do. I for one struggle with trusting both goalies right now. They both could be GREAT. They have times of great saves and have the numbers to back it up, but when you let in squeeker goals from the blue line in on occasion, that overrides what you previously have done, you lose trust. I barely missed a game this year, be it live, tv, or webcast I watched. We had some weekends of great goaltending. The UNO series is a perfect example of that. However, we have had some really horrible goals get in by both goaltenders. That being said, the Yale game was not Saunders fault at all. He played a heck of a game. I am starting to join the bandwagon of changing our play style from our "old time hockey" to a more finesse based quick speed and skill eastern style. A main reason being that it's not that the "old time hockey" of hard physical play does not work, it does, just not with the NCAA. The rules don't allow for it. You get penalized now for playing to physical. Perfectly clean hits that are "too hard" always get you a 5 and game now days. We also have to stop our complacency and belief that we can win with 1 goal leads. The way the Sioux need to win are by scoring no less than 3 goals a game. Strike hard, early and often. We cannot be a team that gets outshot, spends the majority of time in our zone and has a one goal lead and expects to win. It is not going to cut it. With 2 hobey finalists on the top line producing 2 goals all weekend, that is unacceptable.
  5. Half their wins were in the 60's and 50's.....based on recent time BC is the #1 team. However. We just believe we deserve to be #1 and with the 2nd highest amount of draft pics. We should be there. Losing in this program is unacceptable. But hockey is a game of bounces. We never got any. We need to amke our own bounces. Should we beat Yale, yes. Did we deserve to lose? Yes. We plain and simple did not play to our caliber or expectations.
  6. I can agree with this. They way the rules are, if you hit too hard you get penalized. It may work for the nhl, but the ncaa is a bunch of girl scouts who foul every good hard hit.
  7. I can agree with this. They way the rules are, if you hit too hard you get penalized. It may work for the nhl, but the ncaa is a bunch of girl scouts who foul every good hard hit.
  8. UND shoud "NOT" be a defensive team. 2 hobey finalists, both forwards. They need to score more than the other team. The fact that they were outshot and only scored 1 goal is unacceptable. With the caliber of offense they have. They should have ni less than 3 goals a game. Hak and the boys get to caught up with a one goal lead. And it happens all too often. If they don't score they lose. That is their downfall. 1 goal leads with this team just don't work. They thought they could win with one goal. And when that did not happen they disinegrated.
  9. Just remember that this is the same Minnesota that was shut out by CC in the Final Five, shut out by Denver earlier in the year, and chocked last year in the Frozen Four. They can be beat. They do have a sh*t-hot goalie, but he is a Freshman, He can be hot, just like Zane, and he can be beat. I think if it does get down to being a UND/Minn game, I think it will be a high scoring shootout.
  10. I am hoping the NCAA see's that the Huskys deserve to be in. But the have such a hard @#$% for the East Coast that I have my doubts....But nothing could have been more satisfying to see the Goophers lose to CC. I hope they can cap of the Cinderella story with a win tomorrow.
  11. I agree, it is extremely frustrating. Let them play. They all know and accept the risk of injury by playing the game. Does anyone know if they have announced the refs for the NCHC yet? We are not going to get any old WCHA refs are we? If Derek Shepherd, Todd Anderson, or Marco Hunt go over. I may lose my mind. BUT, being away from Bruce McLeod will be the greatest thing in the new league (that and being with no doubt the toughest league)
  12. I completely agree with this. That line (Knight, Kristo, Grimaldi) is powerful. Why not use that every game. it doesn't kill our other lines, they are still good.
  13. He can be just as inconsistant though. What do the Sioux need to do to get some consistancy in net. A save percentage of just over .800 is not acceptable. However, you cannot fault him for a deflection off his own player, but the break-away could have been different and especially the point shot. A 0 and 6 PP is pretty ridiculous as well. Considering how the last coulpe they could not even get something set up. Extremely frustrating. Also, this has been bugging me all night.... This is directly out of the 2012-2013 NCAA Rules and Interpretations Publication for hockey: "Rule 43 - Charging 43.1 Charging - A player shall not skate more than two strides and jump into or charge an opponent. Charging is the action of a player, who as a result of distance traveled, checks an opponent violently in any manner from the front or side. Note: A legal body check is one in which a player checks an opponent who is in possession of the puck, by using the hip or body from the front or diagonally from the front or straight from the side." Can anyone explain to me how Cagguila's hit was charging. He was not in stride, he was gliding and did not leave his feet. It seems like the NCAA is calling anything on a hit that was "hard".
  14. So has there been a confirmed reason as to why this game is not on DirecTV?
  15. I am sure they would easily retaliate to that by putting the picture of Hak giving the finger to the ref.....lol (which was way more epic by the way!)
  16. So frustrating... I am glad I am in California right now and don't have to deal with the Gopher fans patting their own backs and digging for as many arguements as they can find (true or false) as to why the Gophers are better...
  17. And this is why the Sioux have never won a National Championship under the Hakstol regime.... Any big important game... They choke...
  18. You mean a full hour love fest of gopher fans patting themselves on the back starts now?
  19. Let's have none of those "running through the snow to our girlfriends with no shoes on" instances
  20. Saunders is looking good this game. Very good!
  21. Nevermind. Matching Minors. 5 on 4 still. MTU PP
  22. Sioux version of "In Heaven There is No Beer > MTU Version...
