Geezus are you kidding me?? The game against Tech was closer than this garbage game.

You know a 350,000 dollar payout is great, but have you guys thought about the expense to GET down there in the first place? It's probably close to or more than 1/2 of that just to get down there when everything is said and done. Just something to ponder!

Does anyone know or think that the UND v. Texas Tech game might be on TV this fall? Maybe ESPNU will be put to the test right away? I doubt it but you never know?

What are your guys' feelings about Bemidji State being the only team to apply for membership into the WCHA. I think that the WCHA should look at getting rid of some of the bottom feeder teams (Michigan Tech and definately Alaska Anchorage). It makes more sense for Anchorage to join the CCHA with Fairbanks because the same two schools are within not even 100 miles of each other, but play in two different conferences? Boy if Bemidji pulls off the BIG upset by winning it all, that MIGHT turns some heads. I do believe though that it will be too tough to play a 11 team conference schedule, but it can be done. Just wondering what you guys thought?

How could that NOT be a goal? It was inside the post and yes it did look like it went THROUGH the net. Tough break for Air Force. Damn ESPN, why would they put us through agony and make us watch 7ot of lacrosse (b/4 the UND game) and they move the Miami/UMD game from ESPN classic back to ESPNU? Stupid Midco! They need to offer ESPNU on their digital package!!!

Disappointing is all I will say about this game and the end of the season. But with the way BU is playing I wouldn't be surprised if it is going to be another blowout tomorrow against New Hampshire.

I could have sworn that I watch UND vs. Wisco last year's regional championship on www.hockeywebcasts.com? Can anyone confirm with me? I see that they do not have any of the ESPNU hockey games on there yet?? Anyhow, I could have sworn that's where I watch the game on last year. Just a bit of info if anyone wants to take a look into it.

I refereed fast break leagaue and she was a coach for girls fastbreak league last fall. She was a very fun person to talk to about anything in general. I wish her the best of luck in whatever she will do.

They are more meaningful in the NCAA tournament. There you are one and done.

The opportunity to play for the NIT tourneys (either M or W) would be a nice incentive for the teams in the Great West to stick around for awhile. Possibly until they can qualify for the national stage in 2020. Although I really don't see UND or USD doing that anytime soon. Especially with USD getting the possible nod for the Summit and *shrugs* wherever UND will go, albeit the Summit also.

Can someone refresh my memory as to how long does it take before the NCAA recognizes a new conference (ie. Great West) with an automatic berth, for winning the conference title, into national tournaments?

Well we hosted the 2006 regional. I just don't get it. I don't get what the big deal is of the Sioux nickname? There is more important things to worry about than a nickname. I can post an NPR website (which I think is up still) about the Standing Rock Reservation and how one of the members was brutally raped and ended up dying in the hospital later. They know who did this to her, but won't press charges against this person because they are so severely understaffed with their police protection on the reservation. In fact here it is: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...ft=2&f=1090 As far as I think, if the student athletes are penalized for not being able to say, join the Summit league because of the name issue, I'm sorry as much as I love the Sioux nickname and graduated from college at UND in '03, it's gotta go. As much as I hate to see the NCAA overstep their boundaries and say that our nickname is hostile and abusive and think that Florida State Seminoles is okay and that they have a white kid riding a horse with headgear on and a spear during halftime of their football games, let it go. It's no use trying to argue the point when you know dang well that UND is not even close to the funding that FSU has for that argument with the NCAA. It's a shame, it's a real shame. If only UND had tried to have a closer relationship with the 2 Sioux tribes in the state, we won't be having this discussion. *phew* Sorry to go off on a tangent like that, but it still becomes bottled up like that every once in a while. I just hope UND and UND athletics won't get affected too dang much with this issue!!!

Say, does anyone find out outrageous that Mariucci Arena is holding the West Regional this year ('09) and the Xcel is holding the regional for '10? If Mariucci has it this year, there is no reason as to why the Ralph couldn't hold the regional tourney in a future date? I believe National tourneys should be played on neutral ice, but regionals should be tougher and rewarded to teams if they do make the NCAA Men's Hockey tournament (and are fortunate enough to have the regional tourney rewarded to their home ice).

Ouch, that's a long time to go w/o an opening home game. I hate to say this, but I hope that they can settle with any team right now for the Potato Bowl. Let's hope that it can still happen in Sept.!!!

Oh well..better to lose tonight then at all next week when the WCHA 1st round starts! GO SIOUXX!!!!
