  1. Right! I really wanted him to have a 7-8 point weekend in St. Cloud right before break. Didn't happen.
  2. Kawaguchi (I think) has it figured out compared to pre-Thanksgiving. I think once he finds the net, it could be flood gates. Maybe not this year. I'm ok with that. Mismash, as a second rounder, has been non-existent in that same time frame.
  3. Just saw Gardner milling around the concourse in his Sunday best and a walking boot.
  4. I apologize if this has been touched on, but I just got home from the game. As far as supporting cast goes, Peski, Kiersted, and Cole Smith were very very good tonight! Also I notice that camera between the benches guy was wearing a Broten #9 Miracle On Ice Jersey. Someone get that guy a Christian #23 Jersey...
  5. I apologize if this has been touched on, I just got home from the game. A) the amount of too many men that Omaha got away with was ridiculous. There were times they had 8-9 guys on the ice for at least 3 seconds. B) this is gonna be unpopular, but I won't be sad to see Cam Johnson graduate. Yeah, natty. I get it. But he doesn't have that team, especially that D corps in front of him anymore, and you see what we've got with him since the natty. C) EVERY team we play is one pass out of their zone, and they're gone. We can barely break the puck out. D) can we F!@#$%& score first????
  6. Get Rudolph on the horn. Give him a shot at running the pp. How much worse can it get!?!?
  7. Every broadcast I've watched where Mic is the color man, he's been fair. In fact I've rather enjoyed his take on things. And the times I do catch Beyond The Pond on KFAN I enjoy listening to him. Much more than that crybaby Nate Miller. But make no mistake: He's a gopher guy to the bone. But I think he can appreciates a certain style of play when it's mixed with a certain level of play. And we usually play that style.
  8. I was explaining to my wife at the game that the "intention to blow the whistle" rule was gonna get us on that one!
  9. Not that I can recall. And I've been in 306, just a section over from the students, since the building opened.
  10. I still think it would be THE BEST if we all just turned out backs to the ice and went dead silent during opposing team intros!
  11. Couple thoughts from me, then I'm switching to football mode for a few hours. Too many shots coming from the blue line that are above the waist. Hard and low, fellas. I'd like to give a shout out to the REA for having Deschutes IPA on tap near my section. Sweet, sweet brew!! 6-2 green tonight.
  12. I agree about Smith v Olson. They both have the same physical aspect to their games, but I think Smith has shown to be better than Olson in the hands department. Kawaguchi played much stronger last night. Both with his body and stick. He was pushed off the puck far to easily on Friday night. But we all know how this program runs: Unless it's an extraordinary line, by enlarge, lines will probably change from weekend to weekend.
  13. The Adams/Bowen/Jones line showed fantastic chemistry together last night. Those three were raising all kinds of heck! Like to see them kept together.
  14. I'm looking for Kawaguchi to lean on it a little more every night. He got outmuscled pretty handily last night. 5-2 green.
  15. Well they gotta try something! Maybe put Thome on the blue line for this one?
  16. Sitting in my seat here in 306. In one game and 4/5 of one period, I have very quickly become a big fan of Jones!
  17. I understand that it's based on tickets sold, but there were less butts in seats for this game than there was for Missouri State. Not by much, mind you. But I noticed. So, I'm calling horse hockey on that graphic.
  18. Had to make my first Hawks gear purchase on Saturday at the game. Beer was cold as cold can be. Baby steps...
  19. ...or being a gopher fan.
  20. Committee? HA! I think you mean El Presidente. Don't think for a second that that wasn't the case. He was hired by the SBoHE to be the trigger man on Fighting Sioux. Once that was done, it was on to picking a nice safe brown paper bag name. He wasn't about to turn the reins over to some "committee" for that, no matter what the Herald says. He accomplished that and then skipped town without losing a second of sleep.
  21. A quote from Mystery, Alaska: "Yeah? Well, wait 'til we beat 'em."
