If it hadn't already happened, this marks the unfortunate turning point of when UND became just another one of the good teams in college hockey, no longer elite. Given the current environment of NIL and portal it ain't coming back either. Boisvert is exactly the type of guy that used to define UND. Skilled and plays with an edge. Him leaving is an indictment of how far this program has slid back to the pack.

Not everything you find on the internet is true.
Good point. But another point is 5th year senior captains also aren't healthy scratches for not one but two games down the backstretch of a season especially when the team is struggling to maks the playoffs (at St Cloud series). Often where there is smoke there is fire.

Old news
Not really old news if.....assuming this info is true.....UND loses one or two of its best players via portal due to a 5th year captain that ended up being a cancer off the ice/in the locker room.

Berry has gone stale. A change is in order. I think he showed up at the right time to get the talent over the hump. But its not working anymore.
-
UND was outplayed. Two bad turnovers/failures to clear the puck were huge by Juberville and Perron that ended up in the back of UNDs net. Underclassmen for sure, but still those are basic fundamental plays that have to happen. Wish Boisvert stays another year but wouldn't blame him for leaving. Pretty much everyone else on this team is replaceable so might be time to blow things up....coaching staff included.

Keep same lines together, but put 29-8-27 as the 4th line on the line chart tonight. Come on Berry, show how you play matters, even with your super special Seniors.
3rd / 4th lines were by far the two best lines last night. Really want things to click for McLaughlin on the 1st line, but they aren’t. Croal should play every game. Who shouldn’t when Perron is healthy? Clearly 29.
I like 29-8-27 playing together. The line isn't necessarily great at defense, but instead of spreading 3 guys that can't score across 3 lines to drag them down you just bite the bullet and have one line you know has no chance of scoring.

I think when alot of people hear casino they have visions of Vegas casinos that are relatively clean....have nice restaurants and spas....and cool concerts/residences by slightly over the hill musicians. That's not the reality for the vast majority of native casinos in the tri-state area. Grand Forks does need growth but this wasn't the way to do it. The community dodged a bullet on this one. Any doubts go visit one of the area casinos sometime. They aren't exactly Circus Circus during their prime.

I honestly think Sacha’s advisor is already sniffing around to see where he can transfer after this season. He may already know or will know soon
Sacha has NHL written all over him. I just hope that when he leaves after this year it is to go pro. If UND loses a guy like hin to another program it's ominous for the future of UND hockey.

Pardon my ignorance, what is the inevitable that will happen?
When they start to look like the other ones in the upper midwest. Maybe this one would be different.

How does Dakota Magic down by the border work?
Obviously not near a larger population base, but similar off-reservation casino scenario.Well there is Thief River Falls casino too. Point being that most of these casinos/"resorts" aren't really that nice or kept up.....you can go down the list. But none of them are close to any cities at least not like the proposed one is to Grand Forks. This isn't an issue exclsuive to native American casinos but seems esprcially prevalent in the upper midwest. Now take that and add to it the fact that the city/state will literally be next to powerless to take any action when the inevitable happens. I'm actually pro-gamimg overall, and if a tribe wants to take a run at being one of the providers so be it.....but none of this sovereign land crap. It's asking for trouble.

Letting a large chunk of land near the city like that go sovereign to Turtle Mountain would be an absolutely horrible idea. Let them invest, see if they can get approval from the state for an exemption to build a casino, give them a long term permit if this thing passes, but for God's sake don't give up total control of that land.

Constantini would be a 4th line player or extra under Berry
Unfortunately you are probably right.

Honestly I think with recruiting the overall talent level is down too. On a good Sioux team, a guy like Jamernik is a 4th line rotational player.....like he was when he first came in. Guys like Schmaltz and Mcclaughlin wouldn't be guaranteed playing every game on stronger sioux teams either.

Best case scenario.....a team is good and entertaining to watch....like the 2016 Championship team. The next best option is when a team maybe isn't good.....but they are entertaining to watch (i.e. Dixon Ward....Russ Romaniuk years). Worst scenario is when a team isn't very good and is nowhere near entertaining to watch (this year).

If you think this is rock bottom, you have a short memory. The program was in significantly worse shape before Bubba took over.
Lol. A company shill to the very end. I suppose if you want to compare Bubba to Mussman at the end line by line (in a vaccuum) you could maybe say the overall team is very marginally better. But to that I would say 1) Have higher standards than being better than what Mussman was at the end and 2) Bubba barely moved the needle on this program after all of his years.....meanwhile UND fell farther and farther behind the SDSUs....NDSUs.....and more recently Montana State and USDs of FCS. By his lack of meangful progress he dragged this program farther back from the pack than it ever was under Mussman.

And how is his new position going?
what are his duties and responsibilities?
If the position they made up for him is like many of the baloney made up positions are that have made UND administration top heavy........then are naps still in play?

It's too bad Chaves had to let this thing hit rock bottom before bringing in Schmidt. Schmidt (or a Schmidt like candidate) should have started 2-3 years ago. Watching this game and the NDSU/SDSU game makes a guy realize how far away UND is.

So our blowout of NDSU set this program back 3 years basically?
If that played a role in Bubba keeping his job....then yes. At least 3 years.

The secondary argument is they get a home playoff game and actually win and get a second one. What's the procedure to secure tickets for that one? Oh wait......nevermind.
Pure gold lol. Though if getting one......much less two postseason wins in a season is the benchmark for UND athletic teams.........

Yeah, I had to watch a kid on the GF Bantam AA kid who was the laziest kid you ever saw and just took up space on the ice. There wete 3-4 kids on the two A teams that would have contributed more than him in one weekends play. Only made the team as his dad is friends with the coach who hand picked the team and will move on and make RR cuz his two older brothers played there the last couple of years.
Grand Forks gets away with it because the overall level of talent is strong. The truly great kids will always find their spot. But after that unfortunately there is a tier of kids that have gotten extra ice time and benefits of getting bumped up a team higher than they should be because their dad's were good players 25 years ago.....or because their dad's kiss the butts of those dad's that were good players 25 years ago.

His name and mugshot are literally on the St Paul Pioneer Press website, the top story on the Star Tribune, WCCO, KSTP and KARE11
Local is covering it and including photo of the shooter. But try googling Burnsville shooter....and look at the stories....USA Today....AP...etc. The majority of those stories don't include a photo.. or they bury it well down the article. Bias at its finest.
Just looking for consistency. Either the media blasts these photos of criminals at the risk of glorifying them. Or let's not publish photos of any of them.

If all this info is out there why isn't it being reported in conservative media? If its available from authorities it should be easy for them to report.
Yeah like what conservative media outlet are you referring to?
Just one example, a minor like Rittenhouse shoots 3 guys in about the most clear case of self defense a court has seen in years......and his photo is blasted everywhere in the press. Meanwhile.....for some reason the minors in this case are having their identity protected....because they are minors. Just looking for consistency whichever side that consistency may be.

KC SB parade shooting.....yesterday Burnsville MN cop killings and no one in the mainstream media has any idea who committed these crimes? No pictures, no names, no ethnicity.
Maybe McFooley can try to get George Floyd's opinion on all of this.......
Funny how that works. And some don't believe the media has a bias with these sorts of stories.

On stronger Sioux teams of not so recent past, only James would have cracked the top 3 lines. I like the others as players/contributors but they just can't be something they aren't.
