  1. Oh and to add to how gay the BC band is, they played "Everytime we touch" at the championship game.
  2. Whenever they choose to get slaughtered.
  3. you are correct you can still nominate by making your case here. http://myespn.go.com/s/conversations/show/story/3336134 In your own words, tell us about the championships, the pageantry, the tradition, the teams and the fans that make your town TitleTown USA. If you need more space than the conversation below allows, post an essay in your profile blog and leave a link and synopsis here. It's not just about championships like some people think.
  4. Moss? Carter? you do know he started his career under the wing of chris carter...both played for the vikings and both hold records. I'm sure you would argue for North Dakota's claim to fame if those guys were from here. Anyway how about Potulney(sp?) and Irman(sp?) they won NCAA titles with the gophers, well the gophers essentially rode them to the title.
  5. well most of the workers at the pepsi center were nazi's except there was one african american guy with dreds that looked like the bodyguard from tommorrow never dies.
  6. the nazi ticket checkers are fixed with saying "Sprechen Sie nicht Englisch" and walking away.
  7. no scoring?!! I think you are in for a huge suprise my friend.
  8. "Fight on sioux" Fight on Sioux, we're all for you We're thousands of strong and loyal souls We know you'll win every game you're in No matter how distant the goals As we go, we'll show each foe that We're the toughest team between the poles We're rough and tough it's true But we're sportsmen through and through We're the fighting Sioux from North Dakota U
  9. I agree and think they made the right choice, he is a great coach and has gotten us to the frozen four for 4 years in a row! His team did not come to play, if we saw the sioux team we say in the second period against cc in the final five 3rd place game, we would have taken home some hardware. However I do think hak has some issues either getting his team ready to play or lighting a fire under thier ass during a game.
  10. lies! blasphemy! you only want to wear UND's crest!
  11. I agree the goal should have stood, the forward motion of his skate came after the puck left it. I do however understand why they waved it off, there was a distinct kicking motion even if it was towards the boards and not the net, the angle that the puck came off his skate made it look like he kicked it in. If he would have not kicked at the puck the first time and let it deflect in off his skate the goal would have stood and the game would have changed. It's over now and I had a great time in denver, thanks to all the fans I met, and our bus driver for bringing a busload of us for wine and spirits after our tough loss
  12. who cares who won titles more recently, u rode North Dakota boys, I know it hurts but it's true, und had 7 when you had 3. You won 2 in '02 and '03 was it? You guys haven't made it back since, but you did make history losing to holy cross, which I do appreciate it happening at the ralph. Now we have made it to the FF but haven't won, we still have more titles and a better tradition. Now go ahead and have your turn, and we can be done with the usual Gopher/UND bashing portion of this thread.
  13. Was a very memorable season, sad to see it end the way it did, I was so hoping they would play their best because if they lost they would have no regrets, I don't think people understand that the players feel just as horrible as we do, if not worse. It wasn't thier night, which was saddening to see. Thanks again for the great season players, coaches and fans. Already looking forward to another great season of fighting sioux hockey next year. I have to say though the most memorable part of the frozen four for me was last night at the championship game the UND students were starting all the cheers for Notre Dame, my favorite was with about 3 minutes left, all I could hear was "S! E! X! SEX! SCORE! SCORE! SCORE!" good times.
  14. I miss the old run and gun style of hockey but we may not see it while Hak is coaching, don't get me wrong he is a great coach, it's just that he teaches more of a defensive style like the devils have. We will not always have a JPL so I hope that he decides to try a new style of hockey next year with all the new talent coming in, even if we don't get to the FF playing a speed style, with minor cycling to create offensive opportunities, it would be a much better game to watch and we would probably be in the top 5 in the wcha through the whole year, not just in the second half. speaking on the WCHA, they can't clutch and grab you if they can't catch you
  15. I was replying to a comment posted by camas hawk he said it's people who never played the game, computer geeks and hockey wannabees. he was talking about people who posted on the board. I was standing up for the posters of this board stating not everyone is ignorant about hockey, whether fan or someone who has played, after I read it, I did not word it correctly. As for being quite good, coaches and players from all teams told me this, I am not gloating, so I apologize if it sounded like it. I never once in my post told you or anyone to shut up, I do not know everything about hockey, and can always learn from other people, fan and player or former player alike. You totally misunderstood my post. I was feeling the exact same way, but I am exhausted and was unable to put together the proper words to make a good point.
  16. very good post. The thing is though I think a lot of fans miss the high flying sioux hockey game we saw when we won national championships. No one had a good game on thursday and to watch them just quit after they got a few goals scored on em was just horrible. I do believe though that lammy should have been pulled, he is a great goaltender, but he was having a horrible night, and so was his defense, maybe a change in goal would have sparked the team like it did with michigan and we would have had a chance. Honestly though, I don't think anything would have changed, it just seemed the loss was inevitable. We get a fresh start next year, and I don't think we need a coaching change, Hak is a great coach, I just think he needs to rethink his system, dump and cycle and depend on your goalie to win u 1 goal games does not cut it in the NCAA tournament, works well in the WCHA at times, not always, at times. We need to go back to more of a speed system with good fundamentals, just my two cents. He has used the same gameplan for 3 years in a row against BC and it keeps getting worse, 6-5 6-4 6-1. I know this team had a lot potential, they had heart, they just didn't come to play on thursday. I don't know what it is, but I hope hak figures out a way to get his guys to get up for big games or else we will keep seeing this year after year.
  17. Making a comment directed to all people on this board when u are angry at a few? I played hockey for a lot of my life, and I was quite good, I just don't play it in college. I do drink, but the thing is I do it in moderation and not very often, I do agree it isn't right to bash the players, but there is a huge lack of discipline in the UND hockey program the past few years, whether it is a respect issue with the coaches or a immaturity issue with the players, I have no clue. I do know though that something has to be done about the way some of these kids act, they are stars is GF, they will be followed by media, and most of them will be followed by media for the rest of their lives, it may be sick but that is how it is. I never remember this many issues with players when Blais was coach...who knows though if Blais would've done any better with the players Hakstol has.
  18. It's a very good, high paced game, not only is parise playing well, travis zajac and his line are doing amazing.
  19. lol very nice, drive safely and I hope you get to denver in one piece.
  20. I am sure he is a decent goalie but I think there is some focus/confidence issues, which could be fixed but I don't forsee it, he will probably spend the rest of his hockey career as a backup, since there are many more talented goalies than him that can work hard, have confidence and can be the man and focus on the task at hand.
  21. Not all 2 million will be driving! but yeah anyway I am glad I don't have to do any driving in denver.
  22. that's bad weather? a light dusting is what we call it in North Dakota
  23. yeah that is the one we are staying at.
